Iso-8

Sentry’s best Iso-8 class is Raider. Both his Special and Ultimate attacks all enemies, while his Basic hits the primary and adjacent targets—meaning he regularly strikes multiple foes. This makes Raider the top choice, as it maximizes his damage potential with extra Crit chance and Crit damage from the Raider bonuses.

Alternatively, you can build Sentry as a Striker if your strategy is to eliminate him quickly. With each Iso-8 attack, he further reduces his own Health and fills his Speed Bar, allowing him to take more turns, lose health faster, and ultimately summon Void sooner.

T4 Priority

P – Passive ability

B – Basic ability

S – Special ability

U – Ultimate ability

It’s crucial to max out Sentry’s Ultimate and Basic first, because doing so also maximizes those same abilities for The Void. Since The Void only has a Passive and Basic ability, upgrading these ensures he’s as powerful as possible when summoned.

Passive Sentry gains a powerful advantage in Crucible: before he takes his first turn, he prevents enemies from manipulating Speed Bars. This means that, until Sentry acts, opponents cannot increase their own Speed Bars or reduce Sentry’s or his allies’ Speed Bars. This crucial upgrade stops enemies from messing with turn orders by boosting their Speed Bars or delaying Sentry’s team.

Additionally, Sentry gains +100% Assist Chance and +100% chance to assist on non-attack abilities, so he will frequently assist his allies—unless enemies have ways to block those assists.

This upgrade prevents The Void from gaining Assist Now, Heal Block, Trauma, Slow, Stun, or Taunt. Additionally, whenever The Void is attacked, he will heal all enemies (our team) for 20% of his Max Health. This is a highly important upgrade for The Void’s proper functionality, ensuring he remains resilient and provides strong team-wide healing when targeted.

Basic – Sentry deals increased damage to both the primary and secondary targets. Additionally, whenever he performs a Counterattack, Assist, or Iso-8 attack, he fills his Speed Bar by 10%. On top of that, Sentry gains +20% Drain, meaning he heals for 20% of the damage dealt with his Basic attacks.

This upgrade is crucial because it enables Sentry to take turns more frequently—each time he counterattacks, assists, or uses an Iso-8 attack, he fills his Speed Bar, keeping him active and engaged in the fight for longer.

The Void gains increased Piercing damage when using his Basic attack, and in Cosmic Crucible, he also applies Trauma (1 turn) to each target he hits. This ensures that enemies won’t be able to cleanse their debuffs in most cases, giving your team a significant control advantage.

Special – He deals increased Piercing damage. More importantly, in Crucible, his Special also reduces the duration of all positive effects on all enemies by 3—an anti-Safeguard mechanic. This essential upgrade allows your team to strip away enemy buffs and gain a significant advantage in the Cosmic Crucible game mode.

Ultimate Sentry flips all positive effects on all enemies into negative effects. He’ll also deal increased Piercing damage. Without this upgrade, Sentry only flips all negative effects on himself and his team into positives. But with the upgrade, you get the best of both worlds: every negative effect on your team becomes positive, while every positive effect on the enemy team turns into a negative

About Character

Sentry, one of Marvel’s most enigmatic and powerful characters, is a hero shrouded in mystery and complexity. His story is a fascinating exploration of heroism, mental health, and the duality of human nature.

The Sentry’s alter ego is Robert Reynolds, a seemingly ordinary man who discovers he possesses the power of “a million exploding suns” after ingesting a secret super-serum. With his newfound abilities, Reynolds becomes the Sentry, a superhero capable of unimaginable feats. He has superhuman strength, flight, invulnerability, energy manipulation, and even the ability to resurrect himself after death. In many ways, he rivals Marvel’s most powerful beings, including Thor and the Hulk.

What makes Sentry truly compelling is not just his incredible powers but his internal struggles. Robert Reynolds suffers from severe mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia. His mind is haunted by the Void—a dark, malevolent entity that serves as his antithesis. The Void is not only a manifestation of Reynolds’ inner turmoil but also a tangible threat to the world. Whenever Reynolds taps into his full potential as Sentry, the Void grows stronger, creating a devastating paradox: the more heroic he becomes, the more dangerous his darker side becomes.

Sentry’s story often explores themes of memory and forgotten history. Early in his narrative, it is revealed that the world once revered him as its greatest hero, but everyone—including Reynolds himself—forgot about him due to a global mind-wipe orchestrated to contain the Void. This revelation adds layers of tragedy to his character, as he struggles to reclaim his place in a world that no longer remembers him.

Sentry has been both a savior and a liability to his allies. He has fought alongside iconic teams like the Avengers and the X-Men, but his unstable psyche and the looming threat of the Void often make him a wildcard. His relationships with other heroes are complex; some view him as a potential key to defeating cosmic threats, while others fear the destruction he might unleash.

One of Sentry’s most memorable arcs occurs during *Siege*, where he becomes a central figure in Norman Osborn’s plan to conquer Asgard. In this storyline, Reynolds is manipulated into unleashing the Void, leading to catastrophic consequences. Ultimately, Sentry sacrifices himself to stop the Void, delivering one of the most poignant moments in Marvel history.

Sentry’s character raises profound questions about power, responsibility, and the human condition. He is not just a superhero; he is a symbol of how greatness often comes with immense personal struggle. His battles are not only against villains but against his own demons, making him one of Marvel’s most unique and relatable characters.

Whether he is soaring through the skies or wrestling with his inner darkness, Sentry remains an unforgettable figure in the Marvel Universe—a shining beacon of hope with shadows that refuse to fade.

Sentry is one of the best characters in the game, designed to dominate in Cosmic Crucible battles, leveraging his unique abilities and synergy with Void. He is also usable and powerful in other game modes, but Crucible is the mode where he shines. Upon unlocking Sentry from Battleworld, players can utilize his devastating kit, which includes AoE attacks, Ability Block, removal of Battlefield Effects, and targeting Epic and Legendary characters specifically in the Crucible game mode.

A key mechanic of Sentry’s design is his connection to Void. Every attack Sentry performs also damages himself, making it crucial for opponents to eliminate him quickly. If Sentry is defeated, he summons Void—a dark entity that spawns on the enemy’s side as their “ally.” Void’s behavior is destructive; he gains +3 Void on spawn, attacks his own “allies” with his Basic attack each turn, and perishes either when he runs out of Void or when there are no allies left to target.

Certain countermeasures can prevent Void’s summoning. For instance, Kestrel blocks the summoning if she has Charged, and if the enemy side already has 10 characters, Void cannot be summoned due to a lack of space. These mechanics add layers of strategy to battles involving Sentry and Void, making him a formidable yet manageable character in Cosmic Crucible gameplay.

Sentry attacks the primary and adjacent targets, dealing 300% damage along with 20% Drain with his Basic. Additionally, he flips two random positive effects on targets he hits into negative effects. However, using this ability causes the character to lose 5% of his Max Health, and his overall Max Health is permanently reduced by the same amount. In other words is unhealable. But that’s ok, because we want our Sentry to die, so he can summon Void, and this permanent damage will speed that process. When the Sentry performs a Counterattack, Assist, or Iso-8 Attack, his Speed Bar is filled by 10%. Notably, this attack benefits from +500% Extra Focus, ensuring its effectiveness against resistant enemies.

Iso-8 / Counter Attack / Assists function the same as his Basic, but the damage output varies slightly (225% damage + 17% Piercing). Of course, as described in the Basic section, he will fill his Speed Bar by 10% whenever he performs any of these actions.

Special costs 5 Ability Energy and can be used on the first turn. When activated, it grants Offense Up to Sentry and performs an attack on all enemies with 370% Piercing damage while applying Heal Block. Additionally, it flips 2 random negative effects into positive ones for Sentry and all allies, and clears all Battlefield Effects on the enemy side. However, as a drawback, Sentry loses 5% of their Max Health, which is permanently reduced by the same amount. But that’s not a real drawback because of Void summoning when Sentry dies.

In the Crucible game mode, this ability gains enhanced effects:
– Before the attack, Sentry reduces the duration of all positive effects on all enemies by 3 turns.
– He applies Ability Block for 1 turn and Blind for 2 turns to the primary target.
– Ability Block is also applied to 2 random Epic or Legendary enemies, prioritizing those with the highest Damage.
– Trauma is applied to all enemies, preventing them from clearing or flipping negative effects.
– The attack becomes Unavoidable, cannot be blocked, and benefits from 500% Extra Focus, ensuring its effectiveness against resistant targets.

Sentry’s Ultimate ability is a powerful move with significant effects on both allies and enemies. It costs 8 Ability Energy and can be activated on his second turn. When used, it clears all Barrier effects from enemies, flips negative effects into positive ones for Sentry and his allies, and flips positive effects into negative ones for all enemies. Then, he attacks all enemies with 500% Piercing damage. For Sentry and his allies, it reduces the duration of Darkness, Exposed, and Vulnerable by 2 turns. However, using this ability comes at a cost: Sentry loses 10% of his Max Health and his Max Health is permanently reduced by the same amount. This ability cannot be avoided, blocked, or counterattacked.

So, Sentry, with all his abilities, gradually loses health, which will eventually lead to his demise and the emergence of the Void.

Sentry’s Passive details a powerful set of abilities that significantly impact the battlefield. This character cannot be revived, ensuring his presence is finite but impactful. Upon spawning, Sentry gains Defense Up and Safeguard for two turns, bolstering survivability. When his health drops below 50% for the first time, he receives a 50% Speed Bar boost and flips all negative effects into positive ones, turning adversity into advantage.

On death, Sentry summons Void onto the enemy team, granting Void 2 Deathproof, Offense Up for two turns, and Safeguard for two turns, creating chaos among foes. Sentry also has a remarkable Assist capability, with +100% Assist Chance and the ability to assist on non-attack abilities.

In Crucible, Sentry’s Passive becomes even more strategic:
– Enemies’ Speed Bars cannot be filled before Sentry takes a turn unless through normal means.
– The Speed of Sentry and allies can only be reduced by Slow.
– Enemies’ Max Health, Damage, and Speed cannot be increased except via positive effects.
– Sentry’s Speed Bar is immune to reduction.
– Villain enemies are unable to gain Stealth.

These traits make Sentry a unique and formidable force in combat, especially in Crucible scenarios.

Sentry’s Passive plays a crucial role in Cosmic Crucible by preventing any manipulation of the Speed stat for himself and his allies. This means that opposing characters like Emma Frost cannot reduce the Speed of your team through her Passive ability. Sentry’s Passive also ensures that his Speed bar cannot be decreased throughout the battle. Until he takes his turn, opponents are unable to fill their own Speed Bars in any way.

Furthermore, the Health, Damage, and Speed of all opponents cannot be increased unless through positive effects. This effectively counters certain powerful characters who can significantly boost these stats for themselves and their allies. It’s important to note that these benefits and abilities are exclusive to Cosmic Crucible, highlighting Sentry’s distinct impact in this specific game mode compared to others.

Void

Traits: Villain, Cosmic, Bio, Blaster

Void’s speed is the same as Sentry’s – 128. Sentry is a Hero, Void is a Villain. Sentry is Global, while Void is Cosmic. Both are Bio and Blaster. So, certain differences in their traits do exist.

When Sentry dies, he summons Void, but Void appears on the opposing side of the battlefield. This means Void technically becomes your “enemy” and the opponent’s “ally.” However, as we examine his kit, we’ll see that the situation is “a bit different”.

Void’s Basic ability description outlines a powerful attack targeting the most injured ally and adjacent allies. The attack deals 250% Piercing damage and applies Defense Down for 2 turns to all targets. In Crucible mode, the attack is significantly stronger, dealing 500% Piercing damage and additionally applying Trauma for 1 turn to each target. The attack is designed to bypass standard defenses, as it is Unavoidable, cannot be Blocked, and cannot be counterattacked. Furthermore, Void’s Basic ability cannot be directed at Void itself.

This attack is designed to avoid self-harm while delivering significant damage (especially in Crucible), and it can effectively target multiple enemies who have now become his allies.

Passive showcases how the Void’s influence shapes the course of battle when he is summoned. Void cannot be revived under any circumstances. Upon spawning, he gains 3 Void. Each turn, Void passively steals 10% Health from all allies and redistributes it to himself, bypassing any Heal Block effects. Whenever Void is attacked, it heals all enemies for 20% of its own Max Health. At the end of Void’s turn, he loses 1 Void. If, at the end of any turn, Void has no allies or runs out of Void, he dies immediately.

When Void dies, he reduces the Speed Bar of all allies by 25%. Conversely, when any ally dies, Void’s Speed Bar fills by 20%. This character cannot assist others and cannot gain Assist Now. Additionally, Void’s Speed Bar cannot be reduced, and he is immune to effects such as Assist Now, Heal Block, Trauma, Slow, Stun, and Taunt.

In the Crucible mode, there are further specific conditions. The Speed of Void and all enemies can only be reduced by Slow. Furthermore, enemies cannot have their Max Health and Damage increased unless it is through positive effects.

Void passively demolishes his new allies (our enemies), as he not only actively deals damage to them but also passively steals their Health every turn. Additionally, if anyone from our team attacks Void (directly or through AoE attacks), Void will heal all our characters. In other words, Void is technically our enemy, but in reality, he is our greatest ally, as he will wreak havoc in the enemy ranks and destroy them with debuffs and damage.
