Iso-8

Medusa is a classic example of a damage-dealing character, her kit revolves around doing damage with a high Chance of getting Critical Hits (her Passive that has some nice utility in War, but not as much everywhere else) As such, Raider class is the perfect class for her.

T4 Priority

Medusa only has one really essential T4 – her Passive. The other abilities only improve her Damage output in some shape or form and while having those is definetely a good thing, if you are looking for some T4s to save, you can upgrade these later.

P – Passive ability

U – Ultimate ability

S – Special ability

B – Basic ability

Passive – In War, Medusa will increase the Speed of all Absolute A-Force allies by +10%, which is fairly benefitial. Additionally, she also will reduce enemy Resistance by 80% (instead of 40%)

Special and Ultimate will only increase the pure damage output, but it’s a fairly substantial bump so players who compete in Alliance War should definetely consider these.

Theory Craft

Medusa was born into the royal family of Inhumans and she discovered her incredible powers after exposure to the Terrigen Mists, which gifted her with prehensile hair she could control with precision and strength. As queen and wife to Black Bolt, she became a fierce and wise leader, using her unique abilities to protect her people and maintain order within Attilan.

Medusa is a standard Brawler with a main focus of dealing a lot of damage, and she excells at that task, especially if she has 3 or more Absolute A-Force allies. Additionally, In War, Medusa also provides a lot of utility – insreasing the team Speed stat, preventing enemies from spawning with Speed Up, reducing the Damage and their Resistanse as well as messing with the enemy Protectors.

Basic – Split Ends

This is a single-target attack that deals Piercing damage and repeats once. If Medusa is forced to attack an ally, she will deal less damage.

Safety Attack (Iso – 8/Counter Attack/Assists)

This will hit the primary target dealing Piercing damage once.

Special – Bob And Weave

Energy Cost: 4/4

This will attack the primary target dealing a lot of Piercing damage and gaining +60% Crit Chance for this attack.

If Black Bolt is an ally, or if Medusa has 3 or more Absolute A-Force allies, this attack gains +60% Crit Damage.

This attack cannot be Blocked or Dodged and ignores Defense Up. Characters killed by this attack cannot be revived

This is a incredibly powerfull attack as it increases both – Critical Chance and Critical Damage and when paired with already extremely high Piercing damage Medusa already deals, this can lead to an extremely devastating attack.

Ultimate – Conditioned For Battle

Energy cost: 3/5

Attack the primary and adjacent targets dealing Piercing damage and gaining +60% Crit Chance for this attack. It will also get an additional +20% Damage per positive and negative effects on the primary target.

If Black Bolt is an ally, or if Medusa has 3 or more Absolute A-Force allies, this attack gains +60% Crit Damage.

This attack cannot be Blocked or Dodged and ignores Defense Up. Characters killed by this attack cannot be revived

Similar to the previous attack, but even better since it now can hit multiple targets and has a chance of dealing even more damage if the target has a lot of effects active on them.

Passive – Inhuman’s Queen

Enemies cannot Spawn with Evade or Deathproof. This part of the ability works in all game modes so it can provide some utility outside of War.

However, the majority of her Passive is designed for War.

In War:

  • Enemies cannot Spawn with Defense Up or Speed Up
  • Protector and Blaster enemies cannot Spawn with Charged
  • Protector enemies cannot Spawn with Safeguard
  • Damage for all enemies is lowered by 20%
  • Resistance for all enemies is lowered by 80%
  • Medusa and all Absolute A-Force allies gain +10% Speed

The War part of her Passive allows Medusa to be a great plug-and-play character there since she can absolutely mess with some older War Meta teams, like Out Of Time, Knowhere, etc. This passive will function fully even if you don’t have the full team present, which is a benefit. However, once you have the full team, you should keep them together since they gain a lot of bonuses (specifically Kahhori) when they work as a team.

Conclusion

Medusa is a more traditional and boring character on paper, she is only there to deal a ton of damage and she does that well, even at low stars. Partly due to the fact that all of her abilities deal Piercing damage, but she also can Crit a lot and can increase her own Critical Damage, all of this makes her a great Raider.

In War, her utility drastically increases and she can be a key to victory even on her own since her passive will Block the opponents from gaining important buffs, like Charges or Speed Up on Spawn. The good thing is that she doesn’t need her allies to maintain that utility, but the downside is that Absolute A-Force do require a full 5-member team to be at their peak, which essentially means that Medusa won’t be used outside of her team much or at all.
