Iso-8
Dark Beast doesn’t have any Focus boost (aside from Magneto’s passive). For his effectiveness, it is mandatory that all his debuffs and utilities are placed without problems. Having that in mind, it is only logical to equip him with the Skirmisher ISO-8 class. That will significantly increase the chances of placing Bleed, Blind, Ability Block, and flipping positive effects on enemies.
However, for the final judgment, we will have to see the entire Deathseed synergy. It is unlikely that there will be a better option than Skirmisher, but I cannot grant that for sure before learning the kits of Archangel and the fifth Deathseed member.
T4 Priority
P – Passive ability
U – Ultimate ability
S – Special ability
B – Basic ability
Passive – On a turn, flip 1 positive effect into a negative on a non-summoned enemy with the highest Speed; In Raids, flip 3 effects instead +50% chance to apply Blind on the target. The improvement of Dark Beast’s passive is mandatory! It fully improves his efficiency in Raids. This improvement is less potent outside of Raids, but it still makes a difference.
Ultimate – Increased Damage; Ability Block for 2 Turns. Improvement of this ability prolongs the duration of the Ability Block which proved to be essential in the current MSF balance, especially in Raids. Investing in Dark Beast’s ultimate will definitely pay off on numerous occasions. It is not mandatory, but it is truly recommended.

Theory Craft
As we all know, Archangel will be the new Horseman of death with his Deathseed team. Dark Beast is one of the Death Seed members, and in this post, I will try to explain his abilities and see how he synergizes with his team members.
Dark Beast, also known as Black Beast, is a supervillain and mad scientist who works on cruel experiments on innocents. He is an alternate reality evil version of the X-Men Beast. He escaped from the Age of Apocalypse reality to the regular Marvel Universe, where he continued with his experiments.
Traits: Villain, Global, Mutant, Controller, Deathseed
Basic – Lethal Substance
He will attack primary and adjacent targets and apply two Bleeds. Wherever he counterattacks or assists, he will also put Heal Block and Offense Down (two turns).
This ability synergized well with his and Psylocke’s Passive. Our interest is that he does counter/assist often. Then he will prevent healing the enemy team and reduce the Damage to his.
Special – Mad Chemist
Special needs six ability energy – he starts with four, so he can use it on his second turn. He will apply Defense up to himself and all Deathseed allies (2 turns). He will call two team members with the highest Damage to attack the primary target. He will Revive a dead Deathseed ally with 50% Max Health.
In the Raids, this ability has a few more good things. It will put two Regenerations (2 turns) to himself and all Deathseed allies. Most importantly, it will summon a clone of the primary target. The Clone will scale with Dark Beast power and gains Taunt (1 turn) + Defense Up (2 turns). It is his way of protecting his team, and the stronger he is the more powerful Clone will be.
Ultimate – Volatile Reaction
Ultimate needs four-ability energy – he can use it at the beginning of combat. He will attack primary and adjacent targets with a nice amount of Damage, putting bleed on all of them (2 turns) and applying Ability Block on the primary (2 turns). He will also put in two counters on all Deathseed allies.
In the Raids, he will flip three positive effects into negative ones on primary and adjacent targets. With his Ultimate, he can control the battlefield by buffing allies and debuffing the enemy team. It has a short cooldown and can be applied frequently.
Passive – Dark Doctor
Gain a +25% chance to assist on attack abilities per Deathseed ally. So, if he is with the Deathseed team – he will do it with every team member attack. Remember his Basic, and you will see how powerful this is.
He will flip one positive effect into a negative one on a non-summoned enemy with the highest Speed wherever he is ready to play. In Raids, he will overturn three positives and have a 50% chance to apply Blind.
The following effects will not work if he has Ability Block, so protect your Dark Beast from that debuff:
- While this character or any Deathseed ally has Defense Up, they gain +50% Armor.
- In Raids, while this character or any Deathseed team member has Offense Up, they gain +50% Damage.
- In Raids, while this character or any Deathseed ally has Speed Up, they gain +50% Speed.
As we can see, those passive buffs are so important. They buff the Deathseed team so much that we can easily say it is a crucial ability. You cannot allow the enemy team to put an Ability Block on Dark Beast.
Dark Beast is a fantastic character, especially for the Raids. In that game mode, the Deathseed team will be best. Right now, we can see that he synergized well with Magneto and Psylocke:
Magneto can prolong nasty debuffs from Dark Beast with his basic attack. Magneto will also always start combat with his Ultimate and gather all enemies near each other – that’s ideal for Dark Beast because he will attack primary and adjacent targets with his Basic and Ultimate. So, he (Dark Beast) can hit all of them or almost all in the worst case.
Psylocke will give him a counter on spawn – allowing him to put even more debuffs on enemies when he counters. Those are just some examples. There will be more (for sure) when this team is complete.
We do not know the whole team, so we can’t put all the pieces of the puzzle together. But from what we see and know right now, we can say that Dark Beast and his Deathseed team will be a powerhouse in MSF. Like all other Horseman teams.
