Iso-8

Thanks to his Passive, Nova will play every fight first (at least on her team). Knowing that his attacks hit more targets, that and the fact that he plays first weighed in favor of the Raider Iso-8 Class. The damage potential will be the highest with the Raider Class, and he will open the fight so he will have the chance to put vulnerability on more targets and thus create a good foundation for the rest of the team.

Striker can be a good option, considering that his follow-up attack removes 2 positives from the target. Again, as I mentioned before, the fact that he plays first and as a Raider, he has a higher maximum damage potential prevails because he hits more than 1 target with all his attacks.

You won’t go wrong, even if you give him the Striker Iso-8 class. He is certainly a too strong character and will have benefits from the Striker class as well. The choice is not crucial, but the Knowhere team will have a better synergy with Nova as a Raider.

T4 Priority

P – Passive ability

S – Special ability

U – Ultimate ability

B – Basic ability

Nova is a Legendary Character, so we definitely need to upgrade all his Abilities to the max. And each of those Abilities is worth upgrading.

Passive

The Passive upgrade applies only to War but is certainly essential for that game mode. While the Nova has been Charged, no one from the Knowhere team can get Trauma if they have Safeguard on them. This is important because upgrading this ability directly counters Red Hulk’s
Ultimate.

Also, on Spawn, Nova will get 10% on Speed Bar and an extra 15% for each Knowhere ally. Safeguard and Evade on Spawn for the Knowhere team are also there when we upgrade his Passive to the max.

You can clearly see the importance of Passive at max. By improving it, we boost the entire Knowhere team in War and make them by far the strongest team for that game mode.

Special

We will get additional Damage improving Special and a few more functional things that will be important for the War because they will be valid only in that game mode. Namely, Trauma on the primary target will last for 2 turns (up from 1), and Safeguard will be applied to the Knowhere team.

Even if we are not getting anything by upgrading the Specials apart from Damage outside of War, the upgrade is again crucial for War, so you should surely upgrade this ability to the max.

Ultimate

Similar to the Special, only with a slightly smaller upgrade. Damage is vital, but the supreme thing is Safeguard (in War). When we upgrade Special and Ultimate to max, we get Nova, who passively Spawns and casts Safeguard on the entire Knowhere team in War with both abilities.

Basic

With advanced Basic, Nova will apply +1 Deflect on self and all Knowhere allies. We all know how crucial a buff Deflect is to Knowhere, so this is a vital upgrade.

Theory Craft

Nova is the newest Legendary Character who will soon join us in the Marvel Strike Force game. He is the leader of the Knowhere team specializing in Alliance War.

As a teenager, Richard Rider was selected from the last surviving members of the Nova Corps to become the new Nova. By controlling Nova Force – an immense energy resource, Nova possesses superhuman strength, durability, and enormous quantities of energy. During his adventures, he fought on the side of many heroes against many villains to protect the universe.

This legendary character leads his Knowhere team and has high Damage and Focus stats. In addition to being a dangerous damage dealer, he helps his team with a lot of effects such as Safeguard on allies, Trauma on enemies, Speed Bar manipulation, and above all, the new Battlefield Effect (first positive) Nova Force, which makes him a central member of the Knowhere team.

This new Battlefield Effect can clear Red Hulk’s Gamma Radiation and helps Nova’s allies by removing negativities, healing, and applying Deflect, which will boost a character’s Damage.

Of course, you have to be careful because during the battle, only one Battelfield Effect can be present, so when you are fighting Red Hulk, it is not in your interest to cast Nova Force so that a little later, Red Hulk will take off with his Ultimatum and cast his Battelfield Effect Gamma Radiation. It’s in your best interest this time to let Red Hulk use his Ultimate and cross him with the Nova Ultimate.

Basic – Cosmic Beam

With her Basic attack, Nova will attack primary and adjacent targets and remove 2 positive effects from them (4 in War). The Damage with which it attacks is high. He will also apply +1 Deflect up to a maximum of 5 to himself and all Knowhere allies.

Every time she uses Basic, Nova has a 50% chance to revive a dead Korg ally with 10% Max Health. In War, that chance is 100%.

This is an efficient Basic with high Damage and the possibility of removing buffs on multiple enemies. In War, this blow is even better since the number of positive effects which can be cleared is doubled.

As you noticed, the Nova Basic attack has a chance to revive Korg, who is otherwise the protector of the Knowhere team. Practically all team members with Basic attacks have that chance. In War, every time Nova uses his Basic, as long as Korg is dead – he will be revived.

ISO – 8/Counter Attack/Assists:

Very similar to the Basic attack, with clearing 2 positive effects (4 in War), only slightly less Damage. Also, reviving Korg is not possible with these attack types.

Special – Nova Blast

Energy Cost: 7/7

Nova will attack primary and adjacent targets with high Damage. Flip Defense Up and two random positive effects. In addition, he will apply Disrupted and Heal Block (2 turns both) to all targets. This attack will Stun the primary target.

Now we come to the exceptional parts of the Nova Special attack that are only active in War. In War, Nova will clear Revive Once from all targets with this attack and apply Trauma to the primary target for 2 turns. This attack is Unavoidable in War. And he will help his team with Safeguard to everyone.

A fantastic Special with massive Damage that can be used at the very beginning of the fight. It requires 7 Energy to use – in practice can turn out to be a lot (especially in some other game modes). However, it is so good that it is enough to use once in a War battle.

Nova has the highest Speed in his team, so in most cases, he will play first and open the fight with this move. Due to the fact that he has a high Speed and will play among the first against any opponent, Nova will be able to buff his team with Safeguard at the very start of the fight. And at the same time, create Damage to opponents with excellent debuffs (which are even better in War).

Ultimate – Neutron Star

Energy Cost: 6/8

Nova’s Ultimate is a crucial move that will practically solve fights. The Damage is colossal, and characters killed by this attack cannot be revived.

He will clear all negative effects from himself. Barrier self and all allies for 10% of his Max Health. Adds one Deflect to the entire Knowhere team. It will clear every Battelfield Effect on the allied side and apply Nova Force Battelfield Effect on the allied side.

In addition, in War, he will apply Safeguard, Speed Up (2 turns), and fill Speed Bar by 20% to himself and all Knowhere allies.

Let’s see what the Nova Force Battlefield Effect is like:

Whenever anyone from Nova’s team takes their turn to play, they will take 1 negative effect, gain 2 Deflect (max 10) and heal for 5% of Max Health. When someone drops below 50% Health, they will heal for 50% of Max Health. This can only happen once per match for each character. Anyone on the team who have Nova Force Battlefield Effect will gain 5% Damage per Deflect on himself. This Battlefield Effect lasts until the end of the match or until cleared. Pretty tricky.

As I said earlier, this is a positive Battlefield Effect, that boosts the allied side. And the boost is pretty good, so it will be almost impossible for opponents to beat this team after Nova uses her Ultimate and casts Nova Force on himself and his allies.

Increasing the Speed Bar after Ultimate with the addition of Speed Up will theoretically put the Knowhere team in the winning position because they will have Battlefield Effect on their side, 20% increased Speed Bar plus Speed Up. And they will be able to play very likely before the opponent, thus at an advantage. I’m talking about War of course.

As you can see, Ultimate can be used on turn two, and as things currently stand against Gamma in the War, Nova will play after Red Hulk and will be able to overwrite Gamma Radiation with his Nova Force.

Thanks to his Passive (which we’ll talk about later), Nova and his Knowhere team can’t get Trauma if they have Safeguard and if Nova has Charged. So the more I write about it, the more convinced I am that it was made to counter Gamma and Red Hulk’s Gamma Radiation. He will literally be able to take Red Hulk’s Ultimate without consequence.

Passive – The Human Rocket

On Spawn, he will gain 1 Charged.

On Spawn in War:

  •  He will gain +2 Charged (3 in total), but this can only be triggered once per War.
  • Fill Speed Bar for self by 10% + 15% for each Knowhere ally.
  • Apply Evade and Safeguard to self and all Knowhere allies.

On turn, Nova will clear 1 negative effect from self and heal self for 15% of this character’s Max Health. At the end of any turn, if he has Charged and is below 75% Health, Nova will clear Healblock, heal himself for 50% Max Health, fill his Speed Bar for 20%, and then lose 1 Charged.

Passively will gain +60% Max Health, and Knowhere allies will gain +30% Max Health. In War, everyone will get an additional +30%.

For each Charged on himself, he will get +1000% Focus and +4000% Resistance. This is brutal, especially in War, where Nova has 2 extra Charged.

As long as Nova has Deflect or Minor Deflect, the entire Knowhere team will gain +20% Block Amount. This part of his Passive will increase the durability of the entire Knowhere team.

In War, as long as Nova has been Charged, anyone from the Knowhere team who has Safeguard cannot have Trauma. As long as he has 3 Charged, no one from the Knowhere team can get Stun.

This last part makes the Knowhere team practically invincible. The cool thing (for their opponents) is that Nova only gets an extra 2 Charged once per War. Otherwise, they would be unstoppable if we put them on War Defense.

Nova’s Passive is one of the strongest (if not the strongest) right now. Passive healing, increased Health, additional Focus and Resistance, the impossibility of the opponent inflicting Trauma or Stun as long as Nova has a certain number of Charged. Do not waste too many words on something like this. Just say “Magnificent.”

The leader of the Knowhere team certainly lived up to expectations. We still have to try him in practice, but judging by his kit, he will be an excellent plug-and-play character, not just a character specialized in War. Which is expected from the Legendary Hero.

Nova should be recruited through his Scourge which will happen “soon”. When exactly – we don’t know, but we know that Masters Of Evil and X-Factor characters and Quicksilver will be necessary for the same. So now, when we see what Nova brings to us in the game, we can freely say (and we do it even before) that it’s worth investing in the previously mentioned characters.
