Iso-8
Odin, as a Mythic character, can be incredibly versatile when we consider the Iso-8 Class choices. At the time of his release, Odin will have the best stats in the game for almost every category, so he doesn’t have any particular need in any specific Iso Class.
He can Assist on every ally’s Turn, and his Basic Attack will go off on every enemy turn (because of his battlefield effect), so we might want to increase the damage from those attacks by using the Striker or Raider Iso Class. But even the Skirmisher or Healer class can be a decent option for him, so we could unlock 3/4 Iso classes for him and change them depending on the circumferences and the team composition. Unlocking multiple Blue Isos now is less costly, so it shouldn’t be a big investment.
T4 Priority
P – Passive ability
S – Special ability
U – Ultimate ability
B – Basic ability
As a Mythic character, we will be using Odin in almost every game mode on a daily basis, so the easy answer is to max all if his abilities. But we will still provide details and the best order to do so.
Passive – Will prevent enemies from reducing Odin’s Speed Bar. When Charged, Odin won’t gain any new negative effects. This is an essential ability. Odin has a decent Speed stat, but there are a lot of characters who can take their first turn before him, and if they start reducing Odin’s Speed Bar he might end up being not very useful. On top of that, once Odin is Charged he will be impervious to any negative effects (he will still have negative effects that he gained before he was Charged)
Special – will increase the healing he provides and will clear 1 Exhausted from self and all allies. Odin is the first character who can clear Exhausted, and that effect can heavily hinder your team, so this is another essential upgrade.
Ultimate – will increase the damage he applies and will additionally apply +1 Blind to all enemies. Without the upgrade, Odin would only apply Heal Block and Disrupted, so this can greatly improve his control. The damage boost is also nice since it’;’s Piercing and hits all enemies.
Basic – will increase the piercing damage he deals to all enemies and will steal 3% Health from all enemies, which he redistributes to himself, bypassing Heal Block. His Battlefield effect will constantly use the Basic ability at the level you have it, so upgrading this to the max is worth it just for that. This will allow Odin to constantly heal himself.

Theory-Craft
Son of Bor and hailing from an ancient lineage of gods, Odin ascended to the throne of Asgard following his father’s demise. Odin is renowned for his unparalleled wisdom, immense strength, and mastery of mystical powers. He wields the enchanted spear Gungnir and commands the Odinforce, a near-limitless source of magical energy. As the ruler of Asgard, Odin dedicated his existence to maintaining balance across the Nine Realms, raising mighty children like Thor and Loki, and defending Asgard from formidable foes such as the Frost Giants, Enchantress, and even the Celestials.
Odin, as the newest Mythic character, is one of the best characters in the game. He boasts incredible stats and abilities which allow him to oppose even the greatest enemies, such as Mephisto. His Special can Clear Exhausted from all allies, and he will also clear Exposed from himself. His true power comes from his Charged Mechanic (which drastically increases his Speed, and Protection and prevents him from gaining any negative effects) and his Battlefield Effect, which he can apply on any turn by using his Basic, and then it will constantly keep reapplying itself. As a cherry on top, Odin cannot gain Trauma, although to balance that out he also can’t gain Safeguard.
Basic – Gungnir’s Onslaught
This ability will attack all enemies with piercing damage and 50% Drain. It will clear 2 Positive effects from all enemies and 2 negative effects from himself and all allies. Then, Odin will steal 3% Health from all enemies and redistribute it to himself. This bypasses Heal Block and this attack redistributes a maximum of 6% of this character’s Max Health per target.
This attack ignores Defense Up and cannot be counterattacked. When forced to attack an ally, Odin will deal less damage to them.
This will also clear all Battlefield Effects on the enemy side and will apply the Battlefield effect All-Father’s Fury to the enemy side.
If All-Father’s Fury is active at the start of the enemy’s turn, on the enemy’s turn end, Odin will use his Basic (at the Basic’s unlocked level)
This is easily the best Basic ability in the game as of now. It does almost everything – deals huge damage to all enemies, clears their positive effects, clears negative effects from himself and his allies, clears the Battlefield effects, and applies his own battlefield effect. On top of that, Odin will spam this attack after every enemy’s turn once his Battlefield effect is active.
Since Odin can redistribute only 6% of his own Max Health per each target, he won’t be getting absurd heals each turn (meaning he won’t go from 1% to 100% each time), but if there are five enemies, he’ll still often heal up to 30% after each enemy turn. This can be even better in Raids and Dark Dimension, or other game modes where we often have more than 5 enemies.
Safety Attack (Iso-8/Assist/Counterattack)
Works nearly identically to the Basic, with the exception that it will only attack the primary target and will not clear Battlefield Effects or apply his own Battlefield effect. Odin will steal clear positive effects and steal health from the primary target and will clear negative effects from all allies.
Special – Odin Sleep
Energy Cost – 8/8
This is a non-attack ability, meaning that it will deal no damage to the enemies and only focuses on providing support to Odin and his team.
First, Odin will gain 5 Charged. Then he will clear Exposed from himself and will also clear 1 Exhausted from himself and all allies. He will also flip all negative effects into positive on self and all allies.
Then, Odin will heal himself and all allies for 50% of his Max Health and will apply Offense Up, Defense Up, Speed Up, and Immunity, all for 2 turns.
He will additionally Barrier self and all Asgardian allies for 30% of his Max Health.
If Odin used his Basic, Counterattack, or Assist, he would clear the Battlefield effect on the enemy side and apply his own Battlefield Effect. Odin has a passive ability that allows him to assist on each ally turn (same as Old Man Logan), so if you use him with an ally that’s faster than Odin, he can apply his Battlefield effect immediately using his Special, and we won’t have to use his Basic.
The energy cost is high, but Odin can use this ability on his first turn, and he can take a lot of bonus turns, so he can get enough energy to use it again and it is possible for him to use it twice during the same 5-minute battle.
Ultimate – Odinforce
Energy Cost – 0/10
This ability will start by clearing the Barrier on all enemies, then it will hit them dealing piercing damage and applying Heal Block and Disrupted for 2 turns, as well as Blind for 1 turn.
Then, he will Steal 10% Health from all enemies and redistribute it to self. This bypasses Heal Block and Deathproof and this attack redistributes a maximum of 20% of this character’s Max Health per target.
Characters killed by this attack cannot be revived. This attack ignores Defense Up, is Unavoidable, cannot be Blocked, and cannot be counterattacked.
A powerful ability, but it will mainly be devastating thanks to Odin’s high Stats. Eventually, new characters will come out, and Odin’s Stats will no longer be impressive, at which point this Ultimate can become lackluster since it doesn’t apply Trauma as is normally expected of Mythics. But we have at least six months to a year until that happens, and he will always steal 10% of the enemy’s max health, so his uses might dwindle a little, but he won’t be neutered entirely.
He can’t use this ability often as it has a low cooldown and starts at 0 energy, but Odin can gain energy from his Passive.
Passive – All-Father
Odin cannot be revived; this is normal for Mythic characters, although there are exceptions, like Skrull, Doctor Doom, Ultimus, etc.
A big part of his Passive is that Odin cannot gain Trauma, but to balance it out, he also cannot gain Safeguard, Minor Defense Up, or Defense Up.
On ally turn, Odin will gain Assist Now. He will assist all of his allies, just as Old Man Logan does. When Odin is Stunned, he clears Stun and gains Offense Up and Speed Up for 2 turns.
His Speed Bar cannot be reduced and his Speed can only be reduced by Slow (so passive effects reducing Speed, like Emma Frost has, won’t affect him)
On the enemy’s turn, Odin will lose 1 Charged, down to a minimum of 1. On his turn, he will lose 1 Charged. When Odin loses his last Charged, he generates 10 Ultimate Ability Energy for himself.
Odin passively gains +25% Damage Reduction and +25% Resistance.
While Odin has Charged, he gains +100% Speed, an additional 25% to Damage Reduction and Resistance, and cannot gain any new negative effects.
Essentially, Odin will always start the battle by using his Special, which will apply Charged and Speed Up to him, increasing his natural Speed to 384 or 320, depending on how his passive is coded (at least for 2 turns, after that he will lose Speed Up and will have “only” 256). Then he can take a few turns until he loses all of his Charged, and while he will only use his Basic during those turns, it will still hit hard and clear all positive effects (unless enemies have Safeguard). He can also lose a few Charged when enemies take their turns if someone happens to have more Speed Bar, but Odin will always lose his last charged on his own turn, meaning that he will always have the protection his Charged provides to him until he is ready to use his Ultimate.
Once he loses his Charged, he gains 10 Ultimate Ability Energy and can immediately use his Ultimate, which can deal a tremendous amount of damage. At this point, he will still be at least a few turns away from using his Special again, and unless he has another way of gaining energy or Charged from his allies, he will have to use his Basics for a few turns. This will be the perfect opportunity to eliminate him if you survive all of his attacks, and that’s a big if. In PvP modes, we will often need to use sacrifice attacks to lure out his Ultimate, and only then will we be able to defeat him. Although there will certainly be ways to do it in a one-shot, albeit expensive ones.
Conclusion
Odin is as good as any new Mythic character should be. He will have the best stats in the game when he arrives, and his influences will reverberate throughout all of the game modes. Additionally, the entry into DD8 won’t be as restrictive as prior Dark Dimensions since it only requires Purple Level 3 Iso-8, so there is potential for more players to get Odin faster, but it doesn’t look like players can skip Mephisto and get Odin first since we were warned that the DD8 nodes would be extremely challenging and we might need to use Mephisto on some of those nodes to have a better time clearing Dark Dimension VIII. But it might not be impossible if you’re ready for a challenge.
If you’ve just unlocked Odin or will do it soon, congratulations! He is a fun character to use, a stressful character to face, and a great addition to the MSF.
