Iso-8

Vahl can be extremely useful in several Iso-8 classes, but the best option is Striker. Because their Iso-8 follow-up Striker attack puts additional Exposed on the target (only works in Raids and Dark Dimensions). So, the more Exposed effects on enemies, the better.

They can also be solid as a Raider because they are fast and will play first in many cases, and at the same time, they hit more targets with their attacks. So they have a good chance of racking up a significant number of Vulnerabilities that the Strikers on their team will be able to exploit.

The Skirmisher comes into play only in case it gets too problematic to flip positives and throw debuffs on enemies. In other words, if Vahl needs additional Focus.

Again, the importance of the Exposed effect, especially in the current stage of the game when only 2 characters can cast it, is too great to ignore the additional possibility of applying one.

T4 Priority

P – Passive ability

U – Ultimate ability

S – Special ability

B – Basic ability

Passive

Having Vahl’s passive maxed out is crucial for the Bifrost team since then Vahl can generate ability energy for their allies. And considering that every Bifrost team member has long ability cooldowns, the more energy you can get – the better.

Ultimate

Vahl ultimate will revive 2 Bifrost allies in Raids and Dark Dimension regardless of the ability level, but when maxed out, this ability get’s an additional 2 more Revives, that can be triggered in any game mode. So then in Raids and DD Vahl could revive a total of 4 characters. This could change the course of the battle in a snap.

Special

Level 7 Special Ability grants you a huge advantage in Raids and Dark Dimension because you could potentially place a two-turn Ability Block on 6 characters at once (Primary target and up to 5 adjacent targets). Outside of the specified game modes, only the primary target gets AB.

Basic

Maxing out Vahl’s Basic will only get you additional damage and a way to Flip a positive effect to a heal block on primary and adjacent targets. It’s nice if you have spare T4 ability materials. But not necessary.

Theory Craft

Vahl was the keeper of Valhalla, welcoming warriors and honoring the dead. Each person’s perception of Vahl is somewhat different, but the common thing is that Vahl is always a brave champion.

Ultimus entered Vahl’s universe to corrupt powerful Villains to join his army. But Vahl defeated those foes and took their weapons and armor as trophies. In the fight with Ultimus, Vahl gave him a strike that took his eye. However, Ultimus and his armies prevailed and corrupted what remained of Vahl’s universe before continuing his conquest in the next one. Vahl somehow survived, sustained by remnants of the Odin Force.

As the last Asgardian, Vahl searched the galaxy for survivors and found a fledgling Phoenix Force. That Force cosmically bonded to Vahl. Together they followed Ultimus across the Multiverse, eventually reaching Nexus Earth. There, they allied themselves with wayward Asgardians who were also displaced from their worlds – Sylvie, Beta Ray Bill, Loki, and his teen variant – with a joint mission: Protect the Multiverse.

Vahl is a Brawler for the Bifrost Raid team, with high Health and Damage stats. A crucial member of Bifrost, with powerful offensive and defensive mechanics. New to Marvel Strike Force and within Vahl’s abilities is the Exposed mechanic.

Exposed is a neutral mechanic like Charged that can only be applied or prolonged by abilities specifically mentioning Exposed. We already explained Exposed in the Super Skrull article, but it’s not out of place to repeat a little. Exposed stacks and their effect are uniquely applied by each character. With Vahl in the battle, enemies with Exposed have Health stolen from them when attacked, and Vahl receives Speed Bar and Ability Energy. But in Raids, Bifrost allies also receive these benefits, making Vahl even more dominant.

Vahl will have three different appearances: Masculine, Feminine, and Non-Binary. Upon unlocking Vahl, you’ll automatically gain access to all three appearances and can change Vahl’s appearance to the one of your choice in Vahl’s Character Screen.

Basic – Survivor’s Flame

Vahl will attack primary and adjacent targets and flip 1 positive effect to Heal Block. Copy 1 random positive effect, except Taunt and Regeneration from each ally. With Defense Up active, Vahl clears all negativities from self after a Basic attack. When they perform a Counterattack or Assist and have Regeneration, they get +100% Damage.

In Raids or Dark Dimension, Vahl with the Basic attack applies Exposed to the primary target. And when performing a Counterattack or Assist, always gains +100% Damage (no need to have Regeneration).

Basic is very powerful, especially in Raid / Dark Dimension, where it casts Exposed on the primary target. Which can be exploited later. After Super Scrull, this is the second character to be able to apply Exposed.

When we notice that with the Basic ability, Vahl can clear all negativities from themself (under certain conditions – when they have Defense Up), we realize how strong a character Vahl is.

ISO – 8/Counter Attack/Assists:

Slightly lower Damage than Basic, and with the inability of removing negative effects (even when there is Defense Up), but flipping positive effects on the target into Heal Block is still there, and copying 1 random positive from each ally.

What is most important about Iso-8 / Counter Attack / Assist is to cast Exposed in Raids or Dark Dimension. This automatically means that Striker Iso-8 Class is the best for Vahl because it will allow them an additional attack that will be able to apply an additional Exposed.

Also, in Raids or Dark Dimension, gets +100% Damage on Iso – 8 / Counter Attack / Assist when they have Regeneration.

Special – Relic Assault

Energy Cost: 6/6

Attack primary and adjacent targets with high Damage and flip 1 random positive effect to Defense Down. It will also flip 2 additional positive effects into negative ones.

Apply Exposed + Ability Block (2 turns) to the primary target. Casts Defense Up on self and all allies.

In Raids and the Dark Dimension, apply Ability Block (2 turns) to all adjacent targets.

This attack gains +50% extra Damage and + 200% extra Focus against Villain targets.

The Special is crucial in Dark Dimension or Raids because Vahl can cast Ability Block (2 turns) on multiple targets. 6 opponents may get an Ability Block.

Damage is excellent and can be even higher if the targets are Villains. Also, against Villains, Vahl will have additional Focus, so they will not be able to resist Ability Block or other debuffs.

Ultimate – Asgard’s Last Stand

Energy Cost: 4/10

With Ultimate, Vahl will Steal 10% of Health from all enemies and redistribute it to all allies (25% in Raids or Dark Dimension). This is a great Ability with which Vahl will be able to Steal an enormous percentage of the opponent’s Health – thus doing a lot of Damage to the enemies and (at the same time) doing a huge Heal to the team.

The Damage Val produces with Ultimate is enormous (besides Stealing Health), and it also flips Deflect, Evade, and Deathproof to everyone. It won’t just flip the previously mentioned buffs to opponents. It will apply 2 Deflect, 2 Evade, and 2 Deathproof to themself, all Bifrost, and all Hero allies.

Ultimate will also work as a Reviving ability because Vahl will Revive 2 dead allies with 40% Max Health. In Raids or Dark Dimension, Vahl will additionally Revive 2 dead Bifrost allies with 40% Max Health. So in total (in these game modes), Vahl can Revive 4 allies. So a situation can happen where they remain the last one standing, and after the Ultimate, the whole team is alive again.

Trauma will be applied to all enemies in the Raids and Dark Dimension. This means that anything negative that is thrown at the enemies will not be able to be removed.

Furthermore, this attack ignores Defense Up, is Unavoidable, and cannot be blocked.

When you see all of the above, it’s easy to see that this ability is a battle changer. It can completely turn the situation around in a fight in any game mode, especially in Raids and Dark Dimension.

The negative thing about Ultimate is that it costs 10 Ability Energy, so Vahl needs an ally who can charge her with Ability Energy. Through her passive, she has ways to get additional Ability Energy. However, more Ability Energy is always welcome.

Passive – Relic Keeper

On Turn, Vahl will heal themself for 5% of Max Health + 5% of Max Health per non-summoned ally. So self-sustain is more than good. They can heal themselves up to 25% of Max Health per Turn.

On a Bifrost ally Revive, apply 2 Deflect, 2 Evade, and 2 Deathproof to that character, then Heal him for 25% of Vahl’s Max Health. Thus, it will practically prevent the Bifrost ally from dying immediately after Revival.

Vahl passively gains +50% Max Health and +25% Damage. In Raids, all Bifrost allies gain the same. With this part of their Passive, they significantly strengthen the entire Bifrost team in Raids. These buffs do not apply to the Dark Dimension.

And now a little about the Passive ability related to Exposed.

  • Once per turn, when any enemy with Exposed is attacked, this character Steals 5% Health from the most injured enemy with Exposed and redistributes it to this character.
  • Once per turn, when any enemy with Exposed is attacked, fill the Speed Bar for this character by 10%, clear 1 negative effect from this character, and generate 1 Ability Energy for this character.
  • In RAIDS, once per turn, when any enemy with Exposed is attacked, fill Speed Bar by 5% for all BIFROST allies and generate 1 Ability Energy for 4 random BIFROST allies that were not at full energy at the start of the current turn.

An additional self-sustain mode that can only happen once per turn but is still good enough to deal a bit of Damage and heal a little.

The more important part is getting Ability Energy and clearing 1 negative effect (once per turn) when any enemy with Exposed is attacked (in Raids, the Bifrost team gets Ability Energy). Also, Vahl fills +10% on Speed Bar (in Raids, Bifrost allies gain +5% on Speed Bar).

Exposed is an effect that benefits Vahl, and as long as we play smart, Vahl can play even faster. In addition to having excellent Speed (127).

Like the 3 previous original MSF characters, Vahl is a high-powered character, crucial to her team, and one of the best (if not best) pickups for the Cosmic section of Dark Dimension 6.

She can produce huge Damage, throw in significant debuffs and flip positives on opponents. While on the other hand, she can revive up to 4 (In Raids or DD) fallen allies and heal her team.

It will certainly have a high utility value in game modes other than Raid and Dark Dimension. Because of such characters, we eagerly await the new patch and the moment to try it in all game modes.
