Orchis

VIDEO ADVERTISEMENT

Introduction

Orchis is a team of Villain Tech characters featuring 2 reworked and 3 new characters. This is a tradition that MSF has followed for some time and does not deviate from. This is not a bad thing at all because it is how old and forgotten characters come back to life.

The latest Raid was named after the team, indicating their specialization. They entered the game after the stats reset, so all five characters have powerful stats, making them excellent in many game modes. While stats are important, the Orchis team also has strong control, excellent sustain, and damage, making them one of the top teams in MSF.

Utility

  • Alliance Raids

The Orchis team specializes in Raids, and they excel in that game mode. They are one of the five teams with additional buffs for the current Orchis Raid. If you don’t have them, Tech nodes can be really difficult for you, especially on the highest difficulty of Orchis Raids. However, with them, Tech nodes become much easier. They are designed to destroy Orchis Raid Tech nodes. Even an incomplete team of 3-4 characters with 2 excellent plug-and-play options can complete Tech nodes without major problems.

Outside of raids, the Orchis team is a strong choice for War and Cosmic Crucible. Since all of them are Global characters, they’re also a great option for Dark Dimension Global nodes. However, all five are Tech characters, which makes it a bad idea efficiency-wise to use the entire team in the Dark Dimension, as it would require a lot of Tech gear.

Team Placement & Turn Order

It is not overly important where you place the team members, as Sentinel summons have Taunt and will drop in random places. The character with Taunt can be positioned differently depending on the situation. However, Sentinel himself gains Taunt on his first turn, so he should be placed in one corner. Place Lady Deathstrike next to him, as she and Scientist Supreme are likely to be the most powerful for most players. Since they are reworked characters, many players have them at maximum Yellow and Red Stars, and even with Diamonds. Position Scientist Supreme in the middle, then place Omega Sentinel and Nimrod in the remaining spots.

Turn Order in Raids:

  1. Scientist Supreme – 118 Speed
  2. Lady Deathstrike – 127 Speed
  3. Omega Sentinel – 125 Speed
  4. Nimrod – 120 Speed
  5. Sentinel – 107 Speed

Outside of Raids, Scientist Supreme will still be the first one to take a turn (unless someone stops Speed Bar gain on Spawn), and after that, Nimrod will take his turn since he will provide bonus Speed stat to himself only.

In Raids, thanks to Nimrod’s Passive, the entire team gains +10% Speed for each summoned Tech ally, up to a maximum of +50%. As the fight progresses, the team will become increasingly faster, especially with Sentinel’s ability to summon multiple minions. This means that the team’s speed will continue to ramp up as the battle goes on.

Iso-8 Classes

  • SentinelStriker/Fortifier
  • Lady DeathstrikeStriker/Raider
  • Scientist Supreme Healer/Skirmisher
  • Omega SentinelSkrimisher/Healer
  • NimrodRaider

Sentinel is an excellent Striker because, with a follow-up attack, he applies Counter to his entire team. Additionally, he is useful as a Fortifier because he absorbs most of the opponent’s damage as a team protector.

Lady Deathstrike is most effective as a Striker due to the numerous Bleed effects she applies to opponents and her ability to deal significant damage. The more damage Lady Deathstrike inflicts, the more damage her Bleeds will do. And Striker Iso-8 Class will increase her Damage. Additionally, she can also excel as a Raider because she can attack multiple opponents at once and deal extra Critical Damage.

Scientist Supreme is an excellent choice for a Healer. She has a huge amount of health and can therefore heal extremely well. Further increasing her healing abilities with the Healer class would be beneficial. With her Ultimate, she applies crucial debuffs to all opponents, but she has increased Focus for that ability. Therefore, additional Focus from the Skirmisher class is not necessary. If you haven’t invested much in Scientist Supreme and she can’t apply debuffs with her Ultimate, then it’s best to put the Skirmisher class on her until she’s strong enough.

Omega Sentinel is able to heal her team, making her a potential Healer. Additionally, her Ultimate can apply Stun (2 turns) to multiple opponents. To enhance the chances of successfully applying debuffs, it is recommended to assign her the Skirmisher Class.

Nimrod is a classic Raider and that Iso-8 class suits him best. He attacks multiple enemies with all his abilities, he can have an increased chance for Crit Damage (if he has Stealth), and he has a guaranteed Crit with his Ultimate, so the Raider class is made for him.

Team T4’s

Essential

  • Sentinel – Passive and Ultimate
  • Lady Deathstrike – Ultimate and Passive
  • Scientist Supreme – Passive, Ultimate, and Special
  • Omega Sentinel– Ultimate, Passive, and Special
  • Nimrod – Special, Ultimate, and Passive

Sentinel

Sentinel’s maxed Passive will allow him to apply Safeguard (2 turns) to himself and all Orchis allies on his first turn. This is a great upgrade because it makes it impossible for opponents to remove buffs from the Orchis team.

When you fully upgrade the Ultimate ability, Sentinel always spawns one Sentinel Reinforcement (Gun) and one Sentinel Reinforcement (Sword) ally, totaling two minions (without the upgrade he spawns one random minion). This setup, when combined with Scientist Supreme and Nimrod Passives, allows the team to have significantly better sustain and speed. Scientist Supreme provides additional Ability Energy to all Orchis allies upon ally summon, while Nimrod increases the Speed stat by 10% for each Summon Tech ally.

Lady Deathstrike

Ultimate: This upgrade increases Rebound Chain to 4 adjacent targets (up from 3) and applies 2 Bleed to each target (up from 1). It significantly boosts the potential damage of the Orchis team.

Passive: This allows her to reduce the Resistance of enemies by 50% when they have Bleed. Lady Deathstrike can apply multiple Bleeds to many opponents, making it easier for her whole team to apply debuffs. Additionally, when she falls below 60% health, she will gain 2 Evade, boosting her survivability.

Scientist Supreme

The maxed Passive ability will now generate 2 Ability Energy for Orchis allies with a negative effect, up from 1 Ability Energy. In Raids, the Orchis team cannot gain Trauma, which is an amazing advantage.

The Ultimate ability will apply Trauma in Raids to all enemies and all non-Orchis allies. Having Trauma early and on all enemies is incredibly valuable since it will prevent them from clearing any debuffs Orchis will soon apply.

With maxed Special, Scientist Supreme will flip all negative effects into positive effects on herself and all allies, up from 3. This upgrade is very useful but not as essential since, without it, she can still flip 3 negative effects and has a short cooldown, allowing her to use this ability often. If you’re looking to save some T4s, you can upgrade this ability later.

Omega Sentinel

Ultimate: This upgrade is important as it increases Piercing damage and Stun duration for 2 turns, up from 1 turn. Outside of the Raid, Omega Sentinel applies Stun to 2 random Mutant or Tech enemies, and in the Raid, she applies Stun to all Mutant and Tech Enemies.

In Raids, when we max Omega Sentinel’s Passive, she will attack the most injured enemy for +300% damage at the end of the enemy’s turn (up from +150%). Additionally, if she does not have an Ability Block, Omega Sentinel prevents anyone from the Orchis team from gaining Slow in Raids, effectively making Orchis immune to Slow.

Omega Sentinel Special deals increased damage, applies Ability Block to the primary target, and provides additional healing for Orchis characters.

Nimrod

Nimrod’s Special ability, when maxed, will now flip all positive effects on each target, an increase from 3. Additionally, he will apply Ability Block for 2 turns on the primary target, and in Raids, he will also apply Ability Block to all Mutant enemies.

His Ultimate ability will deal more damage and will have a +100% Crit Chance, guaranteeing a critical hit every time it’s used. If Nimrod has 3 or more Orchis allies, he will also apply Trauma for 2 turns to the primary and adjacent targets.

In Raids, if Nimrod has 4 or more Orchis allies, he will lower the Dodge Chance of all enemies by 100%, making it practically impossible for opponents to dodge attacks directed against them. So his Passive is also an essential upgrade for Raids.

Recommended

  • Sentinel – Basic and Special
  • Lady Deathstrike – Special and Basic
  • Scientist Supreme – Basic
  • Omega Sentinel – Basic

Sentinel

Basic – Sentinel will now apply Counter to himself and all Orchis allies, rather than just 3 random Orchis allies.

With the Special maxed, he will perform 3 Bonus Attacks on the primary target, up from 2, and apply 2 Deflects to self and all allies, up from 1. This results in increased damage output and better damage mitigation for the team.

Lady Deathstrike

Special: Deals more Piercing damage and applies 2 Bleed to primary and adjacent targets (up from 1 Bleed).

Basic: Deals more Piercing damage and applies Defense down on the primary target if it has Bleed.

Scientist Supreme

If we max out Scientist Supreme Basic, it will consistently apply Offense Down, Defense Down, and Slow to the primary target. This is an effective way to control and weaken one of the opponents by reducing their offensive and defensive capabilities as well as their Speed. This is a luxury upgrade because she won’t end up using her Basic as often owing to her short cooldowns, but she could counterattack often (thanks to Sentinel), so having this upgrade can be helpful.

Omega Sentinel

With Basic ability maxed, Omega Sentinel now applies Regeneration for 2 turns to herself and all Orchis allies, up from 1 turn. This upgrade increases the team’s sustainability.

Red Stars and Diamonds

Getting 7 Red Stars on newer characters (Sentinel, Omega Sentinel, and Nimrod) shouldn’t be complicated, as long as you open Elite Red Star Orbs when they are featured there. Scientist Supreme and Lady Deathstrike are older characters so plenty of players might have them at high Red Stars already.

You could also get Red Stars for them from the Incursion Campaign:

  • 6 Red Stars for Scientist Supreme – Incursion 2-2
  • 7 Red Stars for Lady Deathstrike – Incursion 6-7

Scientist Supreme and Lady Deathstrike can also benefit from having Diamonds on them since they should be maxed out for all of the long-time players. We recommend equipping both Lady Deathstrike and Scientist Supreme with multiple Diamonds. Lady Deathstrike is a powerful damage dealer with high stats and Piercing damage. With 3 Diamonds, she can easily decimate opponents. Scientist Supreme benefits from increased Health and healing. Additionally, she has control abilities that can make a significant impact by applying debuffs to all opponents at the beginning of a fight. Additional Diamonds only help her to be even more efficient.

When the three new characters become farmable and free-to-play players are able to collect 7 Yellow/Rew Stars for them, we also recommend using Diamonds for them, focusing on Nimrod first and then Sentinel.

Team Mechanics

The Orchis team excels in Raids but also performs well in other game modes. Let’s explore their capabilities in Raids and beyond.

Sentinel

Sentinel is a team protector who can summon minions. These minions, among other things, spawn with Taunt in Raids and serve as protectors. Sentinel himself gains Taunt passively on his first turn. Additionally, he applies Safeguard to himself and the entire Orchis team on the first turn, preventing buffs from being removed.

He can summon 1 random Sentinel Reinforcement ally upon spawning and upon being revived. Therefore, if he dies and we revive him, we also get a minion with him. If Sentinel has 3 or more Orchis allies, enemies cannot gain Deathproof or Deflect.

If there are 2 or more Orchis allies, the summoned Sentinel Reinforcement ally will gain Taunteven outside of Raids, making the minions also relevant for other game modes. Sentinel also grants Immunity to the entire team on Spawn. This allows the Orchis team to always have someone with Taunt, protecting the other members.

Sentinel can summon Sentinel Reinforcement (Gun) and Sentinel Reinforcement (Sword), so we’ll see what those two Minions can do.

When spawned, Gun minion flips all negative effects for himself and Orchis allies. In addition, in Raids, Gun minion will have the following passive abilities:

  • On Turn, generate 1 Ability Energy for a random non-summoned Tech ally that is not at full energy.
  • On Turn, if the Sentinel ally has died, Gun will revive him with 30% base Health and then destroy himself.
  • On the turn of a non-summoned Tech ally, Gun will fill his Speed Bar by 5%.

With a basic attack, Gun minion will attack the primary and adjacent targets. In Raids, this attack will reduce the Speed Bar by 10% on the primary and adjacent targets, and the Gun minion will gain Taunt.

Sword minion on Spawn applies Deflect to self and all Orchis allies. In Raids he:

  • On Turn, generate 1 Ability Energy for a random non-summoned Tech ally that is not at full energy.
  • On Turn, if the Sentinel ally has died, Gun will revive him with 30% base Health and then destroy himself.
  • On the turn of a non-summoned Tech ally, Gun will fill his Speed Bar by 5%.

With a basic attack, Sword minion will hit the primary target. In Raids, he flips 2 positive effects to negative effects, applies Bleed to the primary target, and gains Taunt.

In Raids, both Sentinel Minions act as protectors by gaining Taunt after each turn. They also recharge the team’s Ability Energy, revive a fallen Sentinel, and passively boost their Speed Bar. Additionally, they improve the team’s endurance by flipping negative effects and applying Deflect to all allies. They also have some crowd control abilities, such as reducing enemies’ Speed Bar and flipping positive effects on them.

With a Basic attack, Sentinel hits the primary target and applies Offense Down while providing a Counter to his team.

Special: With Special, the Sentinel summons a random Sentinel Reinforcement ally (Gun or Sword). He then attacks the primary target and performs a bonus attack three times. Additionally, he applies Defense Up (2 turns) and 2 Deflects to himself and all allies. This move boosts the entire team’s mitigation.

When using Ultimate, Sentinel summons 1 Gun and 1 Sword Reinforcement ally. Then he will attack primary and adjacent targets and apply Offense Down. This attack gains extra damage per Sentinel Reinforcement ally. The attack is Unavoidable so it always hits opponents.

Lady Deathstrike

Lady Deathstrike’s attacks deal Piercing damage, meaning they ignore the opponent’s Armor, which is great. Her Basic attacks target the primary opponent with an Unavoidable attack, providing a +300% Extra Focus. If the primary target is affected by Bleed, she will repeat the attack and apply Defense Down. Because her Basic attacks have increased Focus, she will most likely successfully apply the debuffs.

When she uses her Special ability, she gains Offense Up for 2 turns, attacks the primary and adjacent targets, applies 2 Bleed, and reduces their Speed Bar by 20%. Then she repeats the attack using a new primary target randomly chosen from the previous secondary targets. The secondary attack can target Stealth targets. Upon defeating an opponent with this attack, she extends the duration of all positive effects on herself by +1 turn, up to a maximum of 5 turns. This is a powerful attack that can eliminate dangerous opponents and prevent others from taking their turn. Due to the potential for high damage, it often results in killing one or more opponents.

With her Ultimate, Lady Deathstrike attacks the primary target, applying Defense Down and 2 Bleed. Then she rebounds to 4 adjacent targets, applying the same debuffs (Defense Down + 2 Bleed) to each of them. She also removes all negative effects from herself and applies Immunity. This attack cannot miss any target that has Bleed, and if Lady Deathstrike has 3 or more Orchis allies, this attack cannot be countered. It’s another potent attack that can wipe out multiple opponents.

Lady Deathstrike has a Passive ability that allows her to heal for 20% of her Max Health every turn. When her health drops below 60%, she gains 2 Deathproof and 2 Evade. Additionally, she passively reduces the Resistance of all enemies with Bleed by 50%. She also has +25% increased Crit Damage, making her a deadly killing machine. With increased critical damage, Lady Deathstrike can take out multiple opponents with her attacks if she lands critical hits frequently.

Scientist Supreme

Scientist Supreme not only heals and buffs the Orchis team, but she can also apply important debuffs to all opponents, giving her team a big advantage. With her Basic attack, she can target the primary opponent with an Unavoidable attack that applies Offense Down, Defense Down, and Slow. This is very useful because it ensures that the attack never misses and reduces the offensive and defensive capabilities as well as the speed of the targeted opponent.

Special flips all negative effects into positive ones for her and all allies. And then applies Regeneration (2 turns) and Immunity (1 turn) to Scientist Supreme and all Orchis allies. Then she increases the duration of all positive effects by +1 (up to a maximum of 3) to herself and all Orchis allies. Furthermore, she heals herself and all allies for 15% of her Max Health. A dangerously good move that has a short cooldown (just 3), which means that it can be used frequently to heal, buff, and turn negatives into positives for the entire Orchis team.

With Ultimate, Scientist Supreme heals her entire team (and herself of course) for 20% of her Max Health (30% in Raids) and then applies some crucial debuffs to all enemies. She applies Offense Down (2 turns), Defense Down (2 turns), Slow (2 turns), and in Raids applies Trauma to ensure that those debuffs will not be removed. She buffs her team with Speed Up (2 turns) and the crucial thing is that this attack is Unavoidable and gains +500% Extra Focus, so Scientist Supreme will rarely fail to apply all these debuffs.

Thanks to her Passive, Scientist Supreme will almost always play first because On Spawn she fills her Speed Bar by 50%. She also serves as an Ability Energy battery for the Orchis team because, On Turn, she can generate 2 Ability Energy for all Orchis allies with negative effects. When an ally Summons, she also generates 1 Ability Energy for all Orchis allies (this passive has great synergy with Sentenel, because he Summons often). She also has a 25% chance to Revive an ally with 30% Max Health.

In Raids, Scientist Supreme has additional passive effects. On Spawn, she can generate 3 Ability Energy for self and 3 Special Ability Energy for all Orchis allies. This allows everyone to have a Special ready to use in each new Raid battle. Thanks to Scientist Supreme Passive, Orchis team members cannot gain Trauma in Raids, and Mutant and Bio enemies cannot gain Immunity. Unfortunately, all this applies only to Raids (as we have already mentioned), but this is exactly what makes the Orchis team a META Raid team.

Omega Sentinel

Omega Sentinel is another Support that can heal and buff the team, as well as debuff opponents (similar to Scientist Supreme). Omega Sentinel attacks the primary target with her Basic and can Rebound Chain to 3 adjacent targets. She applies Regeneration (2 turns) to the entire Orchis team and this attack is Unavoidable. In Raids, this attack deals additional damage.

With Special she attacks the primary target and applies Ability Block. Then she applies Regeneration to herself and all Orchis allies, Defense Up and Speed Up to herself and all Tech allies. In Raids, she will do all of those buffs for 2 turns for Orchis allies and herself and also Offense Up (2 turns). So in Raids, her Special is a bit more effective. In addition, Omega Sentinel heals itself and all allies for 15% of its Max Health. Orchis allies gain additional healing. A classical Support Ability that buffs and heals your team with a small addition of control (Ability Block) on the primary target.

Ultimate does a double attack on all opponents with Piercing damage, then applies Stun (2 turns) to 2 random Mutant or Tech enemies. In Raids Omega Sentinel will apply Stun (2 turns) to all Mutant and Tech enemies. Then she will heal the entire team for 15% of her Max Health (she and all Orchis allies will receive an additional 15% healing). Her Ultimate is Unavoidable. This Ability can be key in Raids, especially if we have a lot of Tech and Mutant opponents.

Passive – Like a true Support character, Omega Sentinel will On Turn, and each summoned Tech ally Turn, heal herself and all Orchis allies for 10% of her Max Health. And if some of the allies have full HP, then Omega will instead Barrier them for 10% of her Max Health. Once again there is a strong synergy with Sentinel and his Minions. She also, on the enemy turn end, attacks the most injured enemy for 150% damage (300% in Raids). She even has a chance (30%) to revive if she dies.

In Raids, Omega Sentinel passively does more than a few things to help her Orchis team. If there are 4 or more Orchis allies, enemies cannot gain Defense Up. If she doesn’t have Ability Block, she and Orchis allies can’t gain Slow. For each summoned Tech ally, she gets a +35% Revive Chance with an additional +10% Max Health. So even if he dies in a raid and there are at least two Sentinel Minions on the battlefield at that moment, Omega Sentinel will return to the fight. Her |Passive also lowers Max Barrier of all enemies by 20% – a nice addition to her kit. In Raids, if Omega has 4 or more Orchis allies, all enemies can’t gain Defense Up.

Nimrod

Nimrod is a Blaster who attacks primary and adjacent targets with his Basic and applies Defense Down, thus reducing the defensive potential of several opponents at once.

With Special, he attacks all opponents with Piercing damage and flips all positive effects into negatives on each target. Deals extra damage per Sentinel Reinforcement ally. Synergy is at work again with Sentinel and his Minions. In addition to flipping buffs to opponents and doing excellent damage, Nimrod also has a little control with his Special because he applies Ability Block (2 turns) to the primary target. In Raids, that control is significantly stronger because together with Ability Block Nimrod will apply Stun to the primary target, and Ability Block on all Mutant enemies.

With Ultimate he attacks primary and adjacent targets apply Defense Down and Disrupted (both 2 turns). If Nimrod has 3 or more Orchis allies – he’ll apply Trauma (2 turns) to the primary and adjacent targets. This attack is Unavoidable and always Crits. With Ultimate, Nimrod can deal serious damage to opponents and also inflict crucial debuffs.

Whenever he kills someone Nimrod passively gains Stealth, and when he has Stealth he gains +30% Damage and +30% Crit Damage. Here it is clear why Raider is the best Iso-8 Class for Nimrod. He gets increased Crit Damage and we know his Ultimate is always critical. The Passive also helps him get +10% Speed for each summoned Tech Ally (up to a max of +50%). In Raids, the whole team gets the same, so again the ultimate synergy is created with the Sentinel and his Minions. Nimrod in Raids has some more improvements, such as the fact that after each successful (his or any Orchis ally) attack, they will apply Heal Block to each attacked target. Thus, it prevents opponents from getting healed. And also in Raids, if there are 4 or more Orchis allies, Nimrod lowers the Dodge Chace of all enemies by 100%. In practice, this means that Evade will not help opponents avoid any attacks in Raids.

Combat Tips & Tricks

Orchis is a brutal team for Raids (especially Orchis raids), which can be easily concluded from their kit and additional bonuses in that game mode. But they are also good in other game modes. They have strong synergy, each of the 5 characters adds something of their own to this team and makes it stronger. We have seen how much synergy they have with Sentinel Minions where Scientist Supreme generates Ability Energy whenever a Minion is summoned, Omega Sentinel heals the whole team whenever one of those Minions has a turn, and Nimrod increases his Speed (for the entire team in Raids) and does more damage the more Minions are present.

When you play with them in Raids, don’t hesitate to use all available Abilities, they will easily accumulate Ability Energy again and be ready for the next node. Scientist Supreme will inflict key debuffs on opponents, and Omega Sentinel and Nimrod will control the fight, while Lady Deathstrike will destroy everything in her path. The Sentinel and his Minions are one of the key aspects of success.
