Accursed

VIDEO ADVERTISEMENT

Introduction

The Accursed is a formidable team built for exceptional performance in Cosmic Crucible, boasting a mix of revamped and brand-new characters (two reworked and three new characters). While their primary strength lies in this mode, they remain highly effective in other areas of the game due to their unique abilities. These abilities include dealing significant damage and stealing health from opponents, while also enhancing their own capabilities, making them versatile and powerful assets across various scenarios.

The team features five Mystic characters. We have one Protector, one Blaster, one Support, one Controller, and one Brawler. All five characters are Villains, two are classified as Global characters, and three as Cosmic.

Utility

  • Cosmic Crucible

The Accursed team is tailored to excel in the Cosmic Crucible game mode, where they rank as one of the strongest teams. They enjoy numerous additional bonuses in the Crucible, and expectations are high for their performance there. However, in the War game mode, they are likely to be considered a standard team without standout features compared to others. The only distinguishing factor they possess over older teams is their new stats, which provide them with a competitive edge against previous teams (those prior to Ares).

It’s important to note that the Accursed team will be essential for upcoming iterations of Quasar Trials and Negative Zone: Harbinger. Therefore, even if you’re not a fan of the Cosmic Crucible game mode, it’s wise not to overlook this team.

Team Placement & Turn Order

We put Juggernaut in one corner as the protector with Taunt. Mordo is placed beside him. Hellverine will take the central position, ensuring balance in the setup. On the opposite side, Satan and The Hood will complete the arrangement.

Turn Order:

  1. Satana
  2. The Hood
  3. Hellverine
  4. Mordo
  5. Juggernaut

Iso-8 Classes

  • Juggernaut – Raider
  • Mordo – Striker/Healer
  • Hellverine – Raider
  • Satana – Striker
  • The Hood – Raider

It’s not advisable for Juggernaut to be classified as a Striker because he cannot gain extra Charge from his Iso-8 attack (in fact he can’t do anything but Damage with his follow-up, counter, or assist attack). While many might argue that he can be a Fortifier due to his role as a Protector, this would be incorrect. The Accursed team prevents anyone on the battlefield from receiving Barrier, which is the primary benefit of the Fortifier Iso-8 Class. Since Juggernaut cannot gain Barrier in Crucible, the Fortifier classification is also not suitable for him. Therefore, we need to maximize his damage potential by assigning him the Raider Iso-8 Class. Juggernaut is a character with significant damage potential, and strengthening this attribute is our goal. If used outside of Crucible, however, Juggernaut can be a Fortifier.

Mordo is well-suited to be a Striker because his Iso-8 attack applies one to two random negative effects, making him a strong option. Another possibility for him is the Raider class, as he attacks all opponents with his Ultimate.

Hellverine excels as a Raider because he targets multiple enemies with his attacks, which makes him a great choice for boosting damage with the Raider Iso-8 Class.

Satana should be a Striker without question. Her Iso-8 attack not only steals health from opponents and redistributes it to her team, but it also features an anti-Trauma mechanic with her Basic attack. This mechanic is active during Iso-8/Counter Attack/Assist as well. Each time she performs a follow-up attack, she reduces the duration of all negative effects on the entire Accursed team by one (in Crucible, provided she has more than 50% HP).

The Hood is an excellent choice for the Raider class, as he attacks multiple enemies and can perform five basic attacks. Each of these attacks has a chance to crit, dealing more damage and applying additional Vulnerable status to the target. His Ultimate also strikes three times, further reinforcing his suitability for the Raider Iso-8 Class.

Team T4’s

Essential

  • Juggernaut – Passive and Special
  • Mordo – Special
  • Hellverine – Passive and Ultimate
  • Satana -Passive, Special, Basic, and Ultimate
  • The Hood – Passive and Ultimate

Juggernaut

When maxed, Juggernaut’s Passive allows him to apply the Safeguard buff to himself and all Accursed allies at the start of any turn and at the end of any turn, as long as he has Immunity. If Juggernaut loses his Immunity, he will reduce the duration of Safeguard on himself and all Accursed allies by 10. This is an effective way to passively enhance the entire Accursed team with the Safeguard buff. In practice, Juggernaut will apply Safeguard each time any character takes their turn and again when they finish. Therefore, while he has Immunity, the Accursed team will receive the Safeguard buff twice during every turn of any character on the battlefield. He gains Immunity by using his Special or when Satana uses her Ultimate.

The upgrade to Juggernaut’s Special allows him to gain two Regenerations for two turns; however, this will not apply in Crucible due to Satana’s Passive. In Crucible, if there are three or more Accursed allies when Juggernaut uses his Special, he will reduce the duration of all negative effects on himself by one turn and heal for 10% of his Max Health for each negative effect that expires. This mechanic effectively allows him to mitigate negative effects, even if he has Trauma.

Mordo

With a maxed Special ability, Mordo will consistently apply Stun to the primary target, increasing the chance from 50% to a guaranteed effect. This upgrade is significant because relying on a 50% chance for Stun introduces too much randomness, which is something we want to minimize.

Hellverine

Maxing out the Passive Ability of Hellverine offers significant advantages in Cosmic Crucible. Specifically, when there are three or more Accursed allies present, opponents will be unable to obtain Defense Up and Deathproof.

Upgrading the Ultimate to its maximum level not only increases the damage output but also provides a crucial benefit: if any opponent has the Exposed status, Hellverine will inflict an additional 300% Piercing damage to all enemies. Against Hellverine, at least one opponent will almost always have Exposed status, as he applies Exposed to the most injured enemy whenever no enemies currently have it, thanks to his Passive ability. Furthermore, with a fully upgraded Ultimate, Hellverine will flip one positive effect into a negative for each opponent. However, if any target has Exposed, he will convert all positive effects into negatives for all opponents. This upgrade effectively more than doubles the damage Hellverine can deal with his Ultimate, while also turning all positive effects into negative ones for every enemy. Therefore, this is an essential upgrade.

Satana

Passive will provide +25% Damage Reduction and +25% Resistance to any Accursed ally or Satana who does not have Defense Up or Minor Defense Up. Given that the Accursed team is relatively slow and starts the fight without buffs, this upgrade is a significant enhancement that improves the team’s overall mitigation, especially since some opponents will likely act before them.

At the maximum level, Satana’s Special will now steal 10% Health from all enemies (up from 5%). In Crucible, if Satana has 2 or more Accursed allies, she will repeat this attack twice instead of once. With a maxed Special in Crucible, Satana can steal 30% Health from all opponents, compared to just 10% if the Special is not maxed.

With her Basic at max level, Satana will deal slightly more Piercing damage. More importantly, in Crucible, if her Health is above 50%, she will reduce the duration of all negative effects on herself and all Accursed allies by 1. This mechanic also works with Iso-8/Counter Attack/Assist. Each time Satana triggers one of these actions, the decay effect will activate, making it a crucial upgrade for Crucible.

When the Ultimate is maxed, Satana will steal 11% Health from the primary target (up from 6%). In Crucible, if there are 3 or more Accursed allies, she will repeat this attack one additional time (4 additional attacks in total). With a maxed Ultimate in Crucible, Satana can steal a total of 55% Health from the primary target, compared to just 24% if the Ultimate is not maxed.

The Hood

Through his Passive, when The Hood or an Accursed ally successfully attacks, he applies Heal Block to each target hit. In Crucible, if The Hood has three or more Accursed allies, enemies cannot gain Charged. This limitation directly affects several powerful characters, most notably Odin, making the upgrade to his Passive ability essential.

When maxed, his Ultimate will deal slightly more damage, but the key improvement is that The Hood will perform this attack twice instead of once. This means it will inflict significantly more damage on the primary and adjacent targets overall.

Recommended

  • Juggernaut – Ultimate and Basic
  • Mordo – Ultimate and Basic
  • Hellverine – Special and Basic
  • The Hood – Special

Juggernaut

Juggernaut’s Ultimate upgrade enhances his damage output and includes a Drain effect. He will deal increased damage and receive a +100% Drain, meaning he will heal for the amount of damage he inflicts.

When Juggernaut’s Basic is maxed out, he will deal slightly more damage. More importantly, in Crucible, if he has three or more Accursed allies and is affected by Ability Block, he will fill his Speed Bar by 100%. This means that even if is Ability Blocked, he can still play again after using his Basic utilizing some of his other abilities.

Mordo

His Ultimate will not only deal more damage but also enhance the mitigation for the entire Accursed team, as Mordo will grant Defense Up (2 turns) to himself and all Mystic allies (all members of the Accursed team are Mystics). In Cosmic Crucible, Mordo will also apply 1 Bleed for each Accursed ally, up to a maximum of 4 Bleeds on all enemies. Therefore, with his maxed Ultimate, he boosts his team’s defensive capabilities while dealing additional damage and inflicting multiple Bleeds on opponents.

If we max his Basic, Mordo will always apply 2 random negative effects, as opposed to the previous range of 1-2 negative effects. Although this enhancement is not essential, it can be particularly useful in certain game modes like Negative Zone.

Hellverine

At level 7, Hellverine’s Special deals slightly more damage. If any target has Exposed, he will attack the primary target for 10% of that target’s maximum health, resulting in significantly higher damage to the primary target.

If we max out his Basic, Hellverine will consistently apply Defense Down to the primary target (increased from a 75% chance) and deal slightly more Piercing damage.

The Hood

The Special will deal increased damage to the primary and adjacent targets. If the primary target does not have Ability Block, The Hood will deliver a bonus attack to that target, causing double the amount of damage to the primary target. Since The Hood applies Ability Block to the primary target with his Special, if that application fails, he will attack the primary target once more.

Red Stars and Diamonds

Getting 7 Red Stars on the new characters Hellverine, Satana, and The Hood shouldn’t be complicated, as long as you open Elite Red Star Orbs when they are featured there. Juggernaut, and Mordo are older characters so plenty of players might have them at high Red Stars already.

You could also get Red Stars for them from the Incursion Campaign:

  • 6 Red Stars for Juggernaut – Incursion 7-5
  • 7 Red Stars for Mordo – Incursion 6-6

When the Hellverine, Satana, and The Hood becomes farmable and free-to-play players are able to collect 7 Yellow/Red Stars for them, we also recommend using Diamonds for them (2 Diamonds at least).

For the two reworked characters, we also recommend a minimum of 2 Diamonds.

Team Mechanics

The Accursed squad emerges as a formidable force, wielding curses that both bind and empower them with dark energy. Led by the newly upgraded Juggernaut and Mordo, this team thrives in the Cosmic Crucible game mode. Joining their ranks are the fearsome Satana, the relentless Hellverine, and the enigmatic Hood, each bringing their own unique abilities to sow chaos and domination. Together, they channel their cursed powers to unleash unparalleled torment, growing stronger and more fearsome with every battle. Prepare for a new era of darkness as The Accursed rise to claim victory.

The Accursed are beings shrouded in dark magic, wielding their hexes as both a curse and a weapon. Their presence on the battlefield is a harbinger of despair, as they unleash misery upon their foes. Each new Accursed brings unique abilities, leaving behind a sinister mark on enemies, ensuring that their power is felt long after the battle has ended. Their malevolent influence turns the tide of combat, spreading chaos and misfortune to all who stand against them.

Juggernaut

Juggernaut, whose real name is Cain Marko, is one of the most powerful and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. Cain Marko is the stepbrother of Charles Xavier, the founder of the X-Men. Unlike mutants, Juggernaut’s immense power comes from a mystical source rather than genetic mutation.

Cain gained his incredible abilities after discovering the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, an artifact imbued with magical energy. Upon touching the gem, he became the avatar of Cyttorak, transforming into the unstoppable Juggernaut. His powers include superhuman strength, durability, and near-invulnerability. Once he gains momentum, nothing can stop him—hence his title as the “Unstoppable Juggernaut.” He is also immune to most physical and mental attacks, making him a formidable adversary.

Throughout his history, Juggernaut has been both a villain and an antihero. He has clashed with the X-Men numerous times, often acting as a force of destruction driven by his rivalry with Xavier. However, over time, Cain’s character has evolved, and he has occasionally fought alongside heroes when circumstances demanded it.

Despite his brutish nature and immense power, Juggernaut is a complex character. His relationship with Charles Xavier is fraught with jealousy and resentment, stemming from their troubled childhood and their father’s favoritism toward Charles. This emotional depth adds layers to his persona, making him more than just a powerhouse antagonist.

Juggernaut is a Protector tasked with safeguarding the Accursed team while also dealing significant damage to opponents. He utilizes Charged mechanics: the more Charges he has, the more damage he inflicts. When he is Charged, he cannot be Stunned, making him more challenging to control.

Juggernaut can passively Tunt, which activates whenever any Accursed allies drop below 50% health. He also can passively fill his Speed Bar when attacked and has the ability to remove negative effects from himself and the entire Accursed team. Additionally, he can provide powerful buffs to the entire team, such as Safeguard, heal himself, and eliminate negative effects, regardless of Trauma.

A Basic attack deals 290% damage to the primary target and provides several additional benefits. It grants +1 Charged, up to a maximum of 4, and generates 1 Ability Energy for Juggernaut. In Cosmic Crucible, if Juggernaut has 3 or more Accursed allies and is affected by Ability Block, his Speed Bar fills by 100%. When performing an Iso-8 attack, Counterattack, or Assist, the attack only deals damage without applying any additional effects. Additionally, this attack cannot be blocked.

Special provides several powerful buffs and healing effects. Upon activation, Juggernaut gains Taunt and Defense Up for 2 turns, Immunity for 1 turn, 1 stack of Deathproof, and 2 stacks of Regeneration lasting 2 turns. Additionally, Juggernaut heals himself and all Accursed allies for 20% of his Max Health.

In the Crucible mode, if Juggernaut has 3 or more Accursed allies, the ability includes additional effects:

  • The duration of all negative effects on Juggernaut is reduced by 1 turn. Any negative effects that reach a duration of 0 (including Trauma) are removed instantly.
  • Juggernaut heals for an extra 10% of his Max Health for each negative effect that expires this way.

This makes Juggernaut’s Special especially potent in Crucible when he is in the Accursed team.

Juggernaut attacks the primary and adjacent targets with his Ultimate, dealing 380% damage with an added 100% Drain, allowing him to heal based on the damage dealt. The attack becomes even more devastating, gaining an additional 80% damage for each Charged he has. Enemies defeated by this Ability are permanently removed from the battle, as they cannot be revived. Additionally, the attack is unblockable, ensuring it always lands on its targets with full damage potential.

Passive includes several unique effects:

  1. Charged Mechanic: Upon spawning, Juggernaut clears all but 1 Charged and gains a 40% Speed Bar fill if any Charged are cleared. Additionally, he gains +1 Charged per turn, up to a maximum of 4. While Charged, Juggernaut is immune to gaining Stun.
  2. Immunity and Safeguard: On any turn or turn end, if Juggernaut has Immunity, he applies Safeguard to himself and all ACCURSED allies. However, losing Immunity reduces the duration of Safeguard on him and Accursed allies by 10 (effects with 0 duration expire immediately).
  3. Synergy with Magneto or Hellverine: When attacked, if Juggernaut has a Magneto or Hellverine ally, he and all Protector allies gain a 20% Speed Bar fill.
  4. Health-Based Effects: If an Accursed ally drops below 50% Health, Juggernaut clears 3 negative effects from himself. Additionally, if his Health is above 50%, he gains Taunt.
  5. Crucible-Specific Effect: In Crucible, the first time an enemy uses their Ultimate ability, if Juggernaut does not have 2 or more Exhausted:
  • He clears 1 Exhausted from himself and all Accursed allies.
  • Clears 5 negative effects from himself and all Accursed allies.
  • This effect can only trigger once per Crucible.

These abilities make Juggernaut a strong tank with utility for protecting his allies and synergizing with specific team compositions.

Mordo

Mordo, whose full name is Karl Amadeus Mordo, is a significant character in the Marvel Universe, often depicted as an adversary of Doctor Strange. He is a master of the mystic arts, trained under the Ancient One, the same mentor who guided Stephen Strange. However, unlike Doctor Strange, Mordo’s ambitions and moral compass led him down a darker path.

Originally hailing from Transylvania, Mordo is a skilled sorcerer with a deep knowledge of arcane spells and dark magic. His jealousy and hunger for power often drive his actions, making him a dangerous and unpredictable foe. After being exposed for attempting to betray the Ancient One, Mordo became a bitter rival of Doctor Strange, frequently clashing with him in attempts to claim ultimate magical supremacy.

Mordo’s character embodies themes of betrayal, ambition, and philosophical conflict. His complex motivations and formidable powers make him a compelling figure.

Mordo is a Controller character who can apply random negative effects to opponents. He possesses unique abilities that allow him to Stun opponents and inflict conditions such as Blind, Slow, Heal Block, and Bleeds. Additionally, he can reduce the opponents’ Speed Bar and enhance his team’s defense by providing Defense Up.

Mordo also has a passive ability that increases his own durability and that of his Mystic allies whenever an opponent is defeated. In such cases, he heals himself and the most injured ally. If the defeated opponent is a Mystic, the healing is even stronger, and Mordo generates 2 Ability Energy, enabling him to use his abilities more quickly.

Mordo’s Basic strikes the primary target, dealing 280% damage while inflicting 2 random negative effects. Iso-8/Counter Attack/Assist involves attacking the primary target for 140% damage, adding 17% Piercing, and applying 1-2 random negative effects to the target.

Special is a powerful skill in battle. It primarily applies Stun to the main target, ensuring they are temporarily incapacitated. Additionally, there is a 50% chance to inflict Blind on up to 4 random targets, reducing their accuracy significantly. However, suppose Mordo is accompanied by 4 or more Mystic allies (in the Accursed team all characters are Mystic). In that case, the ability becomes even more potent, guaranteeing Blind for 2 turns on up to 2 random targets instead. To further disrupt the enemy, Slow is applied to 2 random targets, reducing their speed. Notably, this attack is unblockable, making it a reliable option in combat scenarios.

Mordo deals 240% damage to all enemies and applies Heal Block for 2 turns when he uses his Ultimate. On War Offense, if Mordo has at least 2 Dark Hunter allies, it reduces the Speed Bar of all blinded enemies by 30%. In Crucible, it applies 1 Bleed per Accursed ally (up to a maximum of 4) to all enemies, and if Mordo has 3 or more Accursed allies, it reduces the Speed Bar of all enemies by 30%. Additionally, it grants Defense Up for 2 turns to Mordo and all Mystic allies. This attack cannot miss, be blocked, or counterattacked.

Passive provides healing and energy generation effects based on the circumstances of a character’s death:

  • When any character dies, Modro heals himself and the most injured Mystic ally for 10% of Modro’s Max Health.
  • If the deceased character is Mystic, the healing amount increases to 15% of Modro’s Max Health for both Modro and the most injured Mystic ally.
  • Additionally, if a Mystic character dies, Modro generates 2 Ability Energy for himself and the most injured Supernatural ally.

Hellverine

Hellverine Daken is a unique and dark incarnation of the character Daken in the Marvel Universe. Daken, whose real name is Akihiro, is the son of Wolverine (Logan) and his Japanese wife, Itsu. Possessing powers similar to his father, such as a regenerative healing factor, enhanced senses, and retractable claws, Daken has always been a morally ambiguous and complex character. However, the “Hellverine” version of Daken takes his story into a much darker realm.

The Hellverine persona emerges when Daken becomes possessed by a demonic entity. This transformation occurs as part of a storyline involving mystical forces and supernatural elements. Under this possession, Daken becomes an even more savage and malevolent force, blending his already ruthless nature with the demonic influence. As Hellverine, his physical appearance takes on a more grotesque and terrifying form, with fiery eyes and hellish features that reflect his corrupted state.

This version of Daken is not only a physical threat but also a psychological one. The possession amplifies his inner turmoil and manipulates his deep-seated hatred, jealousy, and resentment toward his father, Wolverine. As Hellverine, he becomes an even greater adversary for Logan, embodying both a literal and symbolic manifestation of the demons that haunt their family legacy.

The Hellverine storyline serves to explore themes of identity, legacy, and the struggle between good and evil within Daken’s character. It also highlights the ongoing tension between him and Wolverine, as they are forced to confront their complicated relationship in the face of this supernatural threat.

Though Hellverine is a temporary transformation in Daken’s arc, it remains a memorable chapter in his story, showcasing the darker corners of the Marvel Universe where heroes and villains alike must grapple with forces beyond their control.

Hellverine’s abilities revolve around his unique Exposed mechanic, which ties into his fiery vengeance. At the start of each of his turns, if no enemy is already Exposed, he targets the most injured enemy and applies the Exposed status to them, enhancing the impact of his attacks significantly. However, if multiple enemies are already Exposed, he removes the Exposed status from all enemies and restores 25% of his maximum health, showcasing his relentless and self-sustaining power.

Hellverine strikes the primary target, dealing 220% Piercing damage with his Basic. Additionally, Hellverine applies Defense Down to the target. If the primary target has Exposed, the Defense Down effect lasts for 2 turns instead of 1. This attack cannot be blocked by the opponent.

Helverine’s Iso-8/Counter Attack/Assist details indicate that the character attacks the primary target with 165% Piercing damage. Additionally, it applies Defense Down to the primary target, and if the target is Exposed, the Defense Down effect lasts for 2 turns instead of 1.

Special deals 250% damage to the primary target and applies Defense Down, weakening their defenses. The attack chains to 4 adjacent targets, delivering the same damage and effect. However, counterattacks can interrupt the chain. It costs 6 Ability Energy and can be used in Helverine’s second turn.

If any target is Exposed, the ability becomes even more devastating. It attacks primary target and deals 10% of the primary target’s Max Health as damage, and then instead of chain attack, it shifts to attacking all enemies with 250% Piercing damage and applies Defense Down for 2 turns. Notably, this attack is unblockable, ensuring its effectiveness in battle.

Ultimate ability (9 Ability Energy cost, can be used in the first turn) is a powerful attack designed to target all enemies with devastating effects. It deals 300% Piercing damage, flips one positive effect on each enemy to a negative effect, and applies Defense Down. If any enemy has the Exposed status, additional effects are triggered:

  • A random target with Exposed is attacked for 10% of the target’s Max Health.
  • An extra 300% Piercing damage is dealt, all positive effects are flipped to negative effects, and Defense Down along with Trauma is applied.

In Cosmic Crucible, the Hellverine’s Ultimate gains further enhancements:

  • If Helverine has three or more Accursed allies, Ability Block is applied to all enemies.
  • Disrupted and Offense Down are applied to all Hero enemies.
  • The Speed Bar of all Mutant Villain enemies is reduced by 30%.

Additionally, any enemy defeated by this attack cannot be revived. The attack cannot be dodged, blocked, or counterattacked.

Passive offers a mix of utility and offensive power. At the start of combat or during any turn, if no enemy has the Exposed status, Hellverine automatically applies it to the most injured enemy. This ensures that the status effect is always in play.

When an enemy minion is marked with Exposed, Hellverine delivers a devastating 500% Piercing attack to that target, which cannot be dodged or blocked, making it highly reliable. Additionally, on Hellverine’s turn, if two or more enemies have Exposed, he removes the Exposed status from all enemies and heals himself for 25% of their maximum health, adding sustainability to his kit.

In Crucible, Hellverine gains additional benefits:

  • While any enemy has Exposed, Hellverine’s Speed Bar cannot be reduced, ensuring consistent turn efficiency.
  • If Hellverine is accompanied by three or more Accursed allies, enemies are unable to gain Defense Up or Deathproof, weakening their survivability and making them easier to defeat.

This combination of mechanics makes Hellverine a versatile and impactful character in battles.

Satana

Satana, also known as Satana Hellstrom, is a character who embodies a mix of dark mysticism and demonic heritage. She is the daughter of Satan (or a demon often referred to as Marduk Kurios) and the human Victoria Wingate. Satana is the sister of Daimon Hellstrom, also known as the Son of Satan. While Daimon often battles against his infernal lineage, Satana embraces her darker side, making her a complex and enigmatic figure.

Satana possesses a range of supernatural abilities, including sorcery, demonic strength, and the power to drain the souls of others to sustain herself or increase her power. She is often portrayed as a seductive and cunning anti-heroine, navigating the line between villainy and reluctant heroism. Despite her dark nature, Satana has at times allied herself with other Marvel characters, including Doctor Strange and the Midnight Sons, to combat greater threats.

Her character delves into themes of duality, redemption, and moral ambiguity, making her an intriguing figure within Marvel’s supernatural universe. With her fiery personality, magical prowess, and demonic charm, Satana remains a captivating and unpredictable force.

Satana is a Support character with abilities focused on stealing enemy Health to benefit her team. Her skills allow her to drain life from foes, redistributing it to her allies while also weakening opponents. Her Ultimate Ability is particularly powerful, as it not only bypasses Heal Block but also redistributes stolen Health to all Accursed allies. In Cosmic Crucible, with a full team of Accursed allies, her Ultimate can perform up to five health steals. Additionally, whenever an enemy dies, Satana steals 5% of their Health per Accursed ally and boosts her team’s Speed Bar, making her a valuable asset in strategic battles.

With Basic, Satana attacks an enemy with 160% Piercing damage, steals 10% of their Health, and redistributes 150% of the stolen Health to herself and all Accursed allies. This redistribution bypasses Heal Block effects. Additionally, in the Crucible game mode, if Satana’s Health is above 50%, she can reduce the duration of all negative effects on herself and Accursed allies by 1 turn, instantly expiring effects with a duration of 0, including Trauma. The attack also ignores passive abilities that activate when a character’s Health drops below a certain threshold and limits the redistributed Health to 25% of the user’s maximum Health.

Satana’s Iso-8/Counter Attack/Assists provides a strategic advantage in combat. It deals 120% Piercing damage to the primary target and steals 7% of their Health, redistributing 150% of the stolen Health to herself and all Accursed allies, bypassing Heal Block. In Crucible, if her Health is above 50%, she reduces the duration of all negative effects on herself and Accursed allies by 1, with effects of 0 duration expiring instantly, including Trauma. This attack also ignores passives triggered by characters dropping below a certain Health threshold and caps the redistributed Health at 25% of her Max Health

Satana’s Special costs 5/7 Energy (can be used in the second turn) and allows her to steal 10% of Health from all enemies, redistributing 150% of the stolen Health to herself and her Accursed allies, effectively bypassing any Heal Block. The attack is repeated once. But in Cosmic Crucible, if the Satana has 2 or more Accursed allies, she repeats this attack two additional times instead. This ability ignores any passive effects that trigger when a character’s Health drops below a certain level and ensures that enemies defeated by this attack cannot be revived. Additionally, it clears all Battlefield Effects on the allied side and cannot be blocked, making it a formidable tool in combat.

Satana’s Ultimate is a powerful move in which she steals 11% of health from her primary target and redistributes 300% of that health to herself and all Accursed allies, bypassing any Heal Block effects. Additionally, she flips one positive effect on the target into a negative effect. If the target lacks any positive effects, she applies Trauma instead. This attack can be repeated up to two additional times for each Accursed ally, and in Crucible mode, it can be repeated up to four additional times. If Satana’s health is above 50%, she applies Immunity to herself and all Accursed allies, flips all Vulnerable statuses to Defense Up, and turns all negative effects into Evade. Each attack can redistribute a maximum of 25% of her max health, and the attack ignores any passives that activate when a character’s health falls below a certain level. Finally, it clears any Battlefield Effects on the allied side. Ultimate costs 8 Energy and can be used in the first turn.

Passive in Cosmic Crucible provides significant benefits and protections for Satana and her Accursed allies. These include immunity to certain negative effects like Slow, Ability Block, Defense Down, and Trauma, as well as preventing their Speed Bar from being reduced. This works only until Satana completes her first turn.

Additionally, in all game modes, on an enemy’s death, she steals health from the enemy with the highest health and redistributes it to the most injured ally. In Crucible, this effect is enhanced based on the number of Accursed allies present (5% per Accursed ally up to a maximum of 20%), with redistribution capped at 25% of her max health. Also in Cosmic Crucible, on enemy Death, Satana passively fills Speed Bar by 5% for herself and all allies. This attack bypasses Heal Block and ignores passives triggered by low health. Furthermore, in Crucible, no characters can gain Barrier or Regeneration. Accursed allies without Defense Up gain increased Damage Reduction and Resistance (this works in all game modes).

The Hood

The Hood, also known as Parker Robbins, is a fascinating character from the Marvel Universe. He starts as a small-time criminal in New York City, struggling to make ends meet. His life takes a dramatic turn when he encounters a Nisanti demon and steals its mystical cloak and boots, which grant him the powers of levitation and invisibility.

With these newfound abilities, Parker adopts the alias “The Hood” and quickly rises through the ranks of the criminal underworld. Unlike many other villains, The Hood is driven by a desire to provide for his family, adding a layer of complexity to his character. His ambitions lead him to form a criminal syndicate, bringing together various supervillains under his leadership.

The Hood’s story explores themes of power, corruption, and the blurred lines between heroism and villainy. His interactions with other Marvel characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Avengers, often place him at the center of major conflicts within the Marvel Universe. As a character, The Hood embodies the struggle between good intentions and the temptations of power, making him a compelling figure in Marvel’s rich tapestry of heroes and villains.

The Hood, empowered by a hex from Dormammu, inflicts devastating curses on his enemies through every Accurse attack.

When The Hood or any of his Accursed allies successfully attack, they impose Bleed and Heal Block on the targets they strike. His Basic ability is particularly potent, delivering an initial attack followed by five bonus attacks. This relentless assault enables him to bypass defensive effects like Evade and Deflect with ease.

The Hood’s Basic attacks the primary target, dealing 50% Piercing damage. It also performs 5 additional bonus attacks, each dealing 50% Piercing damage. While in Ccrucible, this attack becomes unblockable.

ISO – 8/Counter Attack/Assists: Attack primary target for 225% Piercing.

The Hood’s Special delivers a powerful attack to the primary target, dealing 250% damage while also applying Ability Block. Additionally, it targets all adjacent enemies, inflicting 200% damage. If the primary target is not affected by Ability Block, The Hood will perform a Bonus Attack on the primary target for another 250% damage. Notably, in Crucible, this attack cannot be dodged or blocked.

Ultimate Ability is an attack that hits both primary and adjacent targets, dealing 200% damage while flipping one positive effect on the target into a negative effect. If a target lacks positive effects, The Hood applies Trauma to that target instead. Additionally, it inflicts an extra 200% damage on any target with the Safeguard status. This attack is repeated two more times, making it highly effective. In Cosmic Crucible, the attack cannot be blocked, ensuring its impact.

Passive provides unique advantages and restrictions during combat. When this character or an Accursed ally successfully attacks, Bleed and Heal Block are applied to each target hit.

In Cosmic Crucible, additional effects are applied:

  • Enemies can only gain bonus Damage and Focus through positive effects.
  • Hero enemies can only gain bonus Resistance and Speed through positive effects.

If this character has 3 or more Accursed allies in Crucible:

  • Enemies cannot gain Speed Up, Charged, and Offense Up.
  • Hero enemies cannot gain Taunt.
  • Enemies are unable to Assist.
  • Enemies cannot fill their Speed Bar or their allies’ Speed Bars, except through normal means of Speed Bar gain.
  • The Speed of The Hood and each ally can only be reduced by Slow.

Azazel as the sixth Accursed

You can find all the information about Azazel on the Hellfire Club team page HERE.

Azazel is a solid addition to the Accursed team and is often used as an alternative to Mordo. This means that players who struggle with resources (such as Gold and Training Materials) don’t need to spend them on Mordo. Azazel will be used with the Accursed team in Cosmic Crucible and sometimes in War.

He is more useful than Mordo because he can play earlier, thanks to his higher Speed (compared to Mordo’s), and he can also fill his Speed Bar by 5% at the start of each battle. Mordo’s Passive ability brings very little to the Accursed team (except for some healing after an enemy or one of your own characters is defeated, where he can passively heal himself and the most injured Mystic ally). In contrast, Azazel provides a 15% Drain for the entire Accursed team, which means that every Accursed member will heal for 15% of the damage they deal.

With his abilities, Azazel is able to attack multiple enemies and reduce their Speed Bars. His attacks cannot be countered, and he can remove positive effects, apply Bleed and Blind, and even inflict Slow on the enemy with the highest Speed.

In general, the Accursed team will be somewhat stronger with Azazel in their primary game mode (Crucible), allowing them to perform more efficiently. However, Azazel doesn’t significantly increase the range of teams they can counter. The matchups they can win with Mordo, they will also be able to win with Azazel, and in most cases, if they couldn’t defeat a team with Mordo, they won’t be able to do it with Azazel either.

The biggest value comes from the fact that Azazel is a member of two current teams (Hellfire Club and Accursed). This means that by investing in Azazel, players can “kill two birds with one stone” and reduce their overall investment, since they won’t need to invest in Mordo.

Overall, Azazel’s abilities make him a more impactful and efficient choice for the Accursed team, especially for players looking to optimize their resources.

Combat Tips & Tricks

The Accursed team excels in the Cosmic Crucible game mode due to their versatility, allowing them to function both offensively and defensively. They have a unique set of abilities that can counter a wide range of opponents. Notably, until Satana takes her first turn, the entire team is immune to Slow, Ability Block, Defense Down, and Trauma, and their Speed Bar cannot be reduced. This immunity is valuable, but it’s important to note that they can still be Stunned. While they possess good damage reduction and resistance, starting the fight without any Buff puts them at a disadvantage compared to faster characters that can apply Stun.

To maximize their effectiveness, the Accursed characters do not require the full complement of four Accursed allies to perform well (as was the case with several teams before them). It’s sufficient to have four of them, which allows room for a powerful plug-and-play character to join the team, often replacing Mordo. Mephisto is an excellent choice, as he provides protection at the beginning of the match. The Hood prevents opponents from filling their Speed Bar while, at the same time, stopping Hero opponents from increasing their Speed Stat. Additionally, all opponents cannot increase their Damage and Focus passively; they can only do so through positive effects. Opponents cannot gain Speed Up or Charged effects.

The team can passively steal health from opponents and redistribute it among themselves, circumventing passive effects that activate when an opponent’s health falls below a certain percentage. They also prevent opponents from obtaining Defense Up and Deathproof. Furthermore, they stop anyone in the Crucible from acquiring Barrier and Regeneration, both for their own team and the opposition. This combination of abilities enables them to effectively counter some of the strongest characters in the game, such as Odin, Thanos (Endgame), Super Skrull, and Apocalypse, as well as meta Crucible teams like the Illuminati, Starjammers, and Phoenix Force.

The biggest drawback of this team is their lack of Speed, and they do not prevent the Speed Stat increase of opposing Villains. As a result, several characters in the game can play before they do and successfully counter them. Therefore, it’s better to use this team as an offensive option, allowing us to choose our targets, and still take down some huge defensive teams which are susceptible to being countered by the Accursed team.

This team relies heavily on powerful Ultimates. Since Satana goes first, we should aim to use her Ultimate against one of the strongest opponents, significantly reducing his HP. In the Crucible, Satana can remove up to 55% of an opponent’s health with this move. Following her, The Hood should use his Special to apply Ability Block to one of the enemies. After that, Hellverine can unleash chaos with his Ultimate. For Mordo, it’s advisable to use his Special to stun one opponent and blind two random ones. Juggernaut plays last, but if he gets attacked, he can fill his Speed Bar, allowing him to act sooner. We should use his Special to gain Taunt and various buffs while also reducing the duration of any debuffs that may have affected our team.

Overall, this is a dynamic team—definitely one of the top ones in Cosmic Crucible – capable of overcoming substantial defenses. However, they do have a few weaknesses that make them susceptible to counterattacks.
