Insidious Six

VIDEO ADVERTISEMENT

Introduction

The Insidious Six is a Tech Raid team designed to excel in Tech sections of Raids. Beyond Raids, they are highly effective in other game modes such as Cosmic Crucible and War, especially when paired with characters from the Superior Six and Sinister Six teams. This team is composed of three new characters: Scorpion, Hobgoblin, and Superior Spider-Man. Additionally, in Raids, they are joined by reworked Shocker and Vulture. While Shocker and Vulture do not possess the Insidious Six tag, they are integral to the team’s functionality and can be considered honorary members of the Insidious Six.

The complete team features five Tech characters with distinct roles: one Support, one Controller, one Blaster, and two Brawlers. All members share the traits of being Villains and City characters.

Utility

  • Alliance Raid

The Insidious Six team is specifically tailored for the Tech sections of Raids, where they benefit from exceptional bonuses. This makes them a high-priority investment for players, as strong Raid teams are crucial for overall progress in the game. Raids provide the largest amount of resources, making this team indispensable.

It’s worth noting that all five members of the team are also Sinister Six characters, and Superior Spider-Man additionally belongs to the Superior Six group. This dual affiliation creates excellent synergy with other Sinister Six and Superior Six characters, greatly enhancing their utility in Cosmic Crucible and War modes.

Moreover, all five characters are classified as City and Villain, which makes them an outstanding choice for the City section of Dark Dimension 8 (Odin’s Dark Dimension). Their synergy as a team also extends to any City-related sections in other Dark Dimensions, further solidifying their value across multiple game modes.

Team Placement & Turn Order

Team placement is not particularly crucial since the team lacks a protector with Taunt to shield other members, and none of the members provide buffs to their adjacent allies. Therefore, you can arrange them however you prefer. We have organized them in the following order (from left to right): Scorpion, Vulture, Superior Spider-Man, Shocker, Hobgoblin.

Turn Order:

  1. Superior Spider-Man
  2. Vulture
  3. Hobgoblin
  4. Shocker
  5. Scorpion

Vulture on Spawn boosts his team’s Speed Bar by 10% and increases his own Speed Bar by an additional 10% for each Hero enemy present. This means that in battles against multiple Hero opponents, provided their abilities don’t block Speed Bar increases, Vulture will act before Superior Spider-Man, despite the turn order based solely on Speed.

Iso-8 Classes

  • Scorpion Striker
  • Vulture – Raider
  • Superior Spider-Man – Striker
  • Shocker – Raider
  • Hobgoblin – Raider

Scorpion’s attacks hit multiple enemies, making him seem like a perfect fit for the Raider class. However, he also applies a significant amount of Bleed, both actively and passively, to all opponents. Since the damage from Bleed scales with the character’s damage stats, assigning him the Striker Iso-8 class is highly effective. This boosts his damage output, maximizing the impact of the Bleed effects he inflicts.

Vulture is an excellent Raider because he attacks multiple targets with both his Special and Ultimate abilities. In most cases, he will play first, so using the Raider class allows us to maximize the damage he deals to multiple enemies. Additionally, if Vulture lands critical hits, he can apply Vulnerable status effects. This makes him an ideal setup for Insidious Six Striker characters who go after him, enabling them to exploit those Vulnerables for even more impact.

The best Iso-8 class to assign to Superior Spider-Man is Striker, especially in Raids. This is because, with Basic attacks and Iso-8/Counter Attack/Assist moves, he generates 1 Ability Energy for the entire team. As a Striker, regardless of the ability he uses, if he attacks a target with Vulnerable and performs an Iso-8 attack after the primary hit, he will provide Ability Energy to the whole team. Outside of Raids, you can assign him Raider or Healer Iso-8 classes to boost either his damage or healing capabilities.

Shocker can be either a Raider or a Striker. If you decide to assign him the Striker Iso-8 class, make sure you don’t have too many Strikers in your Insidious Six team. Two are enough, so if Scorpion and Superior Spider-Man are already Strikers, Shocker should be a Raider. His Ultimate ability targets a significant number of enemies, making the Raider class a good fit when he uses it.

Raider Iso-8 class is a perfect match for Hobgoblin. His Basic attack targets a single enemy but does so multiple times, giving each individual hit a chance to be critical. His Special attack hits multiple enemies several times, while his Ultimate strikes all opponents. Therefore, Raider Iso-8 is an ideal choice to significantly boost the potential damage he can deal.

Team T4’s

Essential

  • Scorpion – Passive, Ultimate, and Basic
  • Vulture – Passive and Special
  • Superior Spider-Man – Passive, Special, Ultimate, and Basic
  • Shocker – Passive and Ultimate
  • Hobgoblin – Special

Scorpion

When we maximize Scorpion’s Passive, he will apply Bleed (lasting for 2 turns) to all enemies on his turn. Considering that his entire kit heavily relies on having as many enemies as possible affected by Bleed, this upgrade is crucial and likely the most important one for him.

When Scorpion’s Ultimate reaches max level, this ability is enhanced to apply 3 Bleed effects (lasting 2 turns) to all enemies, an increase from the previous 2 Bleed effects (lasting 2 turns). Additionally, if Scorpion has either 2 Insidious Six allies or 4 Infestation allies, his Ultimate will reduce the duration of all positive effects by 2 on enemies affected by Bleed. Since the Ultimate targets all opponents, this becomes an excellent strategy to diminish positive effects across the board, making it a crucial upgrade for Scorpion.

Scorpion’s Basic attack deals significant damage and spreads three negative effects (excluding Stun) from the primary target to adjacent secondary targets when maxed. Since his Basic attack chains to two nearby enemies, this is an excellent way to transfer all negative effects from the main target to the chained ones.

Vulture

When Vulture’s Passive ability is maxed, he will fill his Speed Bar by 25% (previously 10%) on any Death, allowing him to take turns more frequently when we start eliminating opponents. If Vulture is teamed with at least 2 Insidious Six or 2 Superior Six allies, all of his Sinister Six allies (which includes the entire Insidious Six team, as they are also Sinister Six members) will receive 50% Drain (previously 25%). This enhancement provides better sustain for the entire team. Additionally, on Spawn, if Vulture has 2 Insidious Six allies, he will fill the Speed Bar of Shocker and all other Insidious Six allies by 10%, enabling the team to act earlier at the start of battles.

When we max out Vulture’s Special ability, he will deal increased damage, making him more effective in combat. Additionally, the ability will apply Offense Down to the primary and adjacent targets for 2 turns consistently, rather than the previous range of 1-2 turns. Furthermore, it will always apply Slow to all enemies he hits, improving from the previous 70% chance. This upgrade significantly enhances Vulture’s reliability as a control-focused character, making it a crucial improvement for his effectiveness in battles.

Superior Spider-Man

When we upgrade Passive to the max level, Superior Spider-Man will activate a powerful ability. Whenever an enemy with any negative effect is attacked, and if there are at least 2 Insidious Six allies and 2 other Sinister Six allies on the team, Superior Spider-Man will fill the Speed Bar for himself and all Sinister Six allies by 3%. Additionally, he will fill the Speed Bar by an extra 3% (making it 6% total) specifically for himself, Vulture, Shocker, and all other Insidious Six allies.

This upgrade essentially allows Superior Spider-Man to passively boost the Speed Bar for the entire team whenever an enemy with a negative effect is attacked. This effect will occur frequently, not only during any turn of the Insidious Six team but also during counterattacks and passive attacks against enemies.

The Special ability on the max level of Superior Spider-Man will deal greater damage and convert all negative effects on himself and all Insidious Six allies into positive ones. However, if he has at least two Insidious Six allies with him, this ability will extend to all Sinister Six allies as well. This means that characters like Vulture and Shocker will also have their negative effects flipped into positive ones. This upgrade is crucial because it not only removes all negative effects from the entire team but also turns a disadvantage into an advantage by flipping those negatives into beneficial effects.

When the Ultimate ability is maximized, it will deal slightly more damage, but more importantly, Superior Spider-Man will apply Safeguard (lasting 2 turns) to himself and all Sinister Six allies. This upgrade ensures the protection of all buffs the Insidious Six team possesses, as Safeguard will, in most cases, prevent enemies from removing them.

Superior Spider-Man will deal increased damage and generate 1 Ability Energy for himself and all Sinister Six allies (essentially the entire team) during Raids when we maximize his Basic. Additionally, with Iso-8 / Counter Attack / Assist attacks, he will generate 1 Ability Energy for the whole team as well. This is a crucial upgrade for Raids, specifically when using the Insidious Six team in that game mode, as it allows for much more frequent use of all abilities.

Shocker

The maximized Shocker’s Passive in Raids now generates 5 Ability Energy for the entire team upon Spawn, up from the previous 2 Ability Energy. This is a crucial enhancement for Raids, as it enables us to simulate all nodes where the Insidious Six team is utilized.

With the maximized Ultimate ability, Shocker will now deal increased Piercing damage and execute the attack three times instead of two. This enhancement significantly boosts damage output and improves crowd control, as each attack reduces the Speed Bar of all affected enemies by 20%. The additional attack further amplifies this Speed Bar reduction, making Shocker even more effective in combat scenarios.

Hobgoblin

Hobgoblin’s maxed Special ability now flips all positive effects on primary and adjacent targets, an improvement from the previous limit of flipping two positive effects. Additionally, he executes a repeat of this attack three times, up from two, resulting in a total of four attacks with his Special. This enhancement significantly boosts Hobgoblin’s potential damage output and provides better control by converting all positive effects into negative ones for the affected enemies, making him a critical asset in battles.

Recommended

  • Scorpion – Special
  • Vulture – Basic and Ultimate
  • Shocker – Special
  • Hobgoblin – Passive and Ultimate

Scorpion

If we maximize his Special, Scorpion will apply 3 Bleed to the primary and adjacent targets. This is an upgrade compared to applying 2 Bleed when the Special is not maximized. It’s a solid improvement since the goal is to apply as much Bleed as possible to as many enemies as possible.

Vulture

Maxing Vulture’s Basic will enhance its damage output. While there are no additional effects, the upgrade becomes impactful due to his ability to deal extra damage for each negative effect on the primary target. This makes the improvement particularly valuable in scenarios where the target is afflicted with multiple debuffs.

The maximized Ultimate ability of Vulture significantly enhances its damage output, making it a valuable improvement. This upgrade is particularly effective because Vulture’s Ultimate deals additional damage to all targets with less than 50% health. By increasing the overall damage, the ability becomes even more impactful and efficient in combat scenarios.

Shocker

When we maximize Shocker’s Special, he will call one random Insidious Six ally to attack the primary target. Since Shocker already calls one random Sinister Six ally to attack the primary target, this upgrade allows two allies from the team to strike the target. In other words, this results in higher potential damage.

Hobgoblin

Hobgoblin’s maximized Passive ability enhances his passive damage output to 150% (an increase from 100%) when an enemy afflicted with a negative effect is attacked. This is purely a boost to his passive damage against opponents, which is always beneficial.

When Hobgoblin’s Ultimate is maxed, it will deal greater damage and apply Trauma for 2 turns to all enemies for Raids (an increase from 1 turn). Extending Trauma’s duration to 2 turns is a valuable upgrade in Raids, as it prevents opponents from removing negative effects for a longer period.

Red Stars and Diamonds

Getting 7 Red Stars on the new characters Scorpion, Superior Spider-Man, and Hobgoblin shouldn’t be complicated, as long as you open Elite Red Star Orbs when they are featured there. Vulture, and Shocker are older characters so plenty of players might have them at high Red Stars already.

You could also get Red Stars for them from the Incursion Campaign:

  • 7 Red Stars for Vulture – Incursion 8-9
  • 7 Red Stars for Shocker – Incursion 7-9

When the Scorpion, Superior Spider-Man, and Hobgoblin becomes farmable and free-to-play players are able to collect 7 Yellow/Red Stars for them, we also recommend using Diamonds for them (at least 2 Diamonds for all three).

For the two reworked characters, we also recommend a minimum of 2 Diamonds.

The three new characters should be your priority for the third Diamond before focusing on the two reworked ones. Superior Spider-Man should take the highest priority, while the other two can be treated with equal importance, but only after him.

Team Mechanics

The Insidious Six is a formidable team of supervillains from the Marvel Universe, brought together with the singular goal of defeating Spider-Man and achieving their individual nefarious ambitions. This dangerous coalition is composed of Vulture, Shocker, Hobgoblin, Scorpion, and the enigmatic Superior Spider-Man, each bringing their unique skills and powers to the table.

The formation of the Insidious Six was not a matter of camaraderie but rather an alliance of convenience. Each member had faced Spider-Man individually and suffered defeat at his hands. Recognizing that their chances were slim when acting alone, they decided to pool their strengths and resources to take down the web-slinger once and for all.

The Insidious Six doesn’t always operate smoothly. Their clashing egos and differing priorities often lead to internal conflicts. However, when united by a common goal, they are a nearly unstoppable force. Their schemes range from elaborate traps to city-wide destruction in their attempts to eliminate Spider-Man.

Despite their combined strength, the Insidious Six have yet to achieve ultimate victory over their nemesis. Spider-Man’s resourcefulness, determination, and never-give-up attitude have allowed him to outwit and overcome this fearsome team time and again. Still, the Insidious Six remains one of the most dangerous threats in Spider-Man’s rogues’ gallery, always lurking in the shadows, waiting for their next opportunity to strike.

The Insidious Six squad introduces a fresh layer of strategy and chaos to the battlefield, especially in Tech Raid lanes. With Superior Spider-Man, Scorpion, and Hobgoblin as the core trio, players gain access to the exclusive “Insidious Six” trait. The remaining two slots offer flexibility, allowing you to incorporate Sinister Six or Superior Six members to suit your playstyle.

Vulture and Shocker bring synergy bonuses when paired with the core team, but the real strength lies in your ability to mix and match for optimal results. Whether you’re enhancing War Defense with Scorpion’s Infestation trait or boosting Cosmic Crucible squads with Superior Spider-Man’s speed, the possibilities for customization are vast. Hobgoblin adds explosive control, ensuring your team can handle high-pressure situations.

With 15 Sinister Six characters now available, theorycrafting becomes a playground for creativity. Controllers like Mysterio or Protectors such as Lizard can help balance your team dynamics, making the Insidious Six not only a force in Tech Lanes but also a versatile asset across Alliance War and other game modes. Dive into the chaos and assemble your ultimate villainous crew!

Scorpion

Scorpion, one of Marvel’s most intriguing villains, is a character who perfectly embodies the phrase “created by circumstance.” His real name is MacDonald “Mac” Gargan, a man whose life took a dark turn after agreeing to a dangerous experiment. Initially, a private investigator hired by J. Jonah Jameson to uncover Spider-Man’s identity, Gargan was soon swept into a world of science gone awry.

Frustrated by his inability to expose Spider-Man, Jameson funded an experiment to give Gargan superhuman abilities, hoping to create a powerful ally against the wall-crawler. The procedure involved bonding Gargan with a scorpion-like exoskeleton, granting him enhanced strength, agility, and durability. He also gained a deadly mechanical tail that could strike with incredible force. However, the process had unintended consequences — it warped Gargan’s mind, turning him into a violent and unstable villain consumed by rage and vengeance.

Scorpion is driven by his hatred for Spider-Man, whom he blames for his descent into madness. Unlike many villains who seek power or wealth, Gargan’s vendetta is deeply personal, making him an unpredictable and dangerous foe. His battles with Spider-Man are often intense, showcasing his brute strength and relentless aggression. Despite his physical advantage, Scorpion’s lack of strategy and emotional instability often lead to his downfall.

Over the years, Scorpion has evolved beyond being simply a Spider-Man antagonist. At one point, he became the host for the Venom symbiote, amplifying his abilities even further and transforming him into a more fearsome adversary. This new identity brought him into conflict with other heroes in the Marvel Universe, solidifying his place as a prominent villain.

What makes Scorpion compelling is his tragic backstory. He wasn’t born evil; he was manipulated and experimented on, turning him into something he never wanted to be. Beneath the armor and rage lies a man who was betrayed by those he trusted, making him a character that’s as much a victim as he is a villain.

Scorpion remains one of Marvel’s most enduring characters, offering readers thrilling battles and a glimpse into the darker side of human ambition and desperation. Whether he’s clashing with Spider-Man or wreaking havoc in the wider Marvel Universe, Scorpion’s tale is one of tragedy, fury, and the eternal struggle for redemption.

This Insidious Six and Infestation Brawler stands out with its ability to apply Bleed to all enemies, both actively and passively, through multiple abilities. Additionally, it has the unique capability to reduce the duration of positive effects on opponents whenever they take damage from Bleed, effectively countering Safeguard mechanics. Furthermore, it passively prevents the reduction of the Damage stat for the entire team, offering solid support and huge damage in battle. Its Infestation tag makes it a valuable addition to that War Defense team, providing significant reinforcement and synergy.

Scorpion’s Basic ability deals 280% Piercing damage to the primary target. It then chains to 2 adjacent targets, dealing 280% Piercing damage and spreading 3 negative effects (excluding Stun) from the primary target to the secondary targets. With ISO-8, Counterattack, or Assists, he deals 245% Piercing damage to the primary target.

Special costs 3 Ability Energy and can be used on the first turn. It targets the primary and adjacent enemies, dealing 260% Piercing damage and applying 3 stacks of Bleed to each. This straightforward yet effective ability excels at inflicting significant Bleed damage across multiple targets and can be used often.

Ultimate ability is highly effective for reducing enemy buffs and applying debuffs. It costs 5 Ability Energy and becomes available on his third turn. With 2 Insidious Six allies or 4 Infestation allies, it reduces Safeguard duration by 2 on all enemies and cuts the duration of positive effects by 2 on enemies afflicted with Bleed. The attack hits all enemies for 300% Piercing damage while applying 3 stacks of Bleed for 2 turns. When paired with 2 Insidious Six allies, the attack becomes unblockable. This ability is versatile and impactful, making Scorpion a valuable asset in both Insidious Six and Infestation team compositions.

Through his Passive, Scorpion applies Bleed consistently across enemy characters. On his turn, all enemies receive Bleed for 2 turns. Additionally, when any enemy with a negative effect is attacked, Bleed is applied to a random enemy. If Scorpion is teamed with 2 Insidious Six allies and 2 other Sinister Six allies, Bleed is applied to 2 additional random enemies, amplifying its impact.

Furthermore, when an enemy takes damage from Bleed, Scorpion reduces the duration of Deflect, Defense Up, and Deathproof by 2 on that character while applying Bleed for another 2 turns. This creates a cycle of weakening enemy defenses while maintaining constant pressure through Bleed effects.

Enemies afflicted with Bleed also suffer a reduction in Armor and Damage by 10%, diminishing both their offensive and defensive capabilities. To bolster his team’s resilience, if Scorpion is paired with either 2 Insidious Six allies and 2 Sinister Six allies or 4 Infestation allies, neither Scorpion nor his allies can have their Damage reduced except by Offense Down.

Overall, Scorpion’s passive ability excels at controlling the battlefield by spreading Bleed effects, weakening enemy defenses, and protecting his team from damage reduction.

Vulture

Vulture, one of Marvel’s most intriguing villains, is a character who combines cunning intellect with a menacing presence. He has become a notable adversary for Spider-Man, showcasing a unique blend of technology and desperation.

The man behind the wings is Adrian Toomes, an elderly inventor with a knack for engineering. After being betrayed by his business partner and left financially ruined, Toomes turns to crime, using his self-designed electromagnetic flight suit to soar through the skies. The suit not only grants him the ability to fly but also enhances his strength, making him a formidable foe despite his age.

What makes Vulture compelling is his motivation. Unlike many villains driven purely by greed or chaos, Toomes’ descent into crime stems from betrayal and survival. This adds layers to his character, making him more relatable and tragic. He’s not just a man in a costume; he’s someone who felt cornered by life and chose to fight back in the only way he knew how.

Over the years, Vulture has appeared in various storylines, often challenging Spider-Man’s agility and quick thinking with his aerial prowess. His battles with the web-slinger are thrilling, as they often take place high above the city, creating visually stunning and heart-pounding moments.

Vulture’s story is a reminder that not all villains start out evil; sometimes, circumstances push them down a dark path. With his sharp mind, advanced technology, and emotional depth, Vulture remains a fascinating character in Marvel’s vast gallery of rogues. Whether soaring above New York City or scheming from the shadows, he continues to challenge Spider-Man and captivate fans around the world.

Vulture is a Brawler who can passively gain Speed Bar whenever an enemy is defeated, allowing him to act more frequently. At the start of a battle, he can fill his Speed Bar if facing Hero enemies, enabling him to take the first turn or act among the earliest. In addition to his ability to boost his own and the Speed Bar of his team, Vulture can also reduce the Speed Bar of opponents and is capable of applying Slow to multiple enemies, limiting their frequency of actions. Furthermore, Vulture significantly contributes to his team’s sustain by granting passive Drain to all allies, allowing them to heal themselves when dealing damage to enemies.

His Basic ability is designed to deal significant damage to a primary target. It inflicts 250% base damage and adds 40% extra damage for each negative effect currently affecting the target. Additionally, if the primary target’s health is below 50% of their maximum, the attack deals an extra 150% damage, making it especially effective against weakened enemies.

Special ability is a powerful attack with which Vulture targets multiple enemies simultaneously. It costs 4 Ability Energy and can be used on the first turn. When activated, it deals 300% damage to both the primary target and adjacent enemies. In addition to the damage, it has several impactful secondary effects:

1. Clearing Positive Effects: It removes 2 positive effects from each target, weakening their defenses or offensive capabilities.

2. Applying Debuffs:
  – Offense Down: Reduces the damage output of affected targets for 2 turns, making them less threatening.
  – Slow: Decreases the speed of affected targets for 2 turns, limiting their ability to act quickly in battle.

3. Extra Focus: The attack benefits from an incredible +1,000% Extra Focus, ensuring that debuffs and effects are applied successfully even against opponents with high resistance.

This ability is ideal for disrupting enemy teams, especially those relying on buffs or high-speed strategies. It combines heavy damage with strategic debuffs to turn the tide of battle in your favor.

Ultimate is highly effective against weakened enemies. It costs 6 Ability energy and becomes available on the second turn. The attack targets all enemies, dealing 320% damage and reducing their Speed Bar by 25%. Additionally, it inflicts an extra 200% damage to enemies whose health is below 50%, making it particularly powerful for finishing off already weakened opponents while disrupting their ability to act.

On Spawn, Vulture immediately gets a boost to his Speed Bar by 10% through his Passive. Additionally, for every Hero enemy present, his Speed Bar fills by an extra 10%. If Vulture has at least 2 Insidious Six allies on his team, Shocker and all Insidious Six allies also receive a 10% Speed Bar increase.

At the start of the match, once all characters have spawned, Vulture unleashes a powerful synergy with his team. If he has 2 Superior Six allies and any enemies are benefiting from Speed Up, he applies Speed Up to himself and all Sinister Six allies. On offense, he takes it a step further by clearing Speed Up from all enemies and applying Slow to them for 2 turns, crippling their momentum.

Whenever a character on the battlefield dies, Vulture gains 2 stacks of Deflect and fills his Speed Bar by an impressive 25%. In Raids, this ability becomes even more impactful—if he has 2 Insidious Six allies, Shocker and all Insidious Six allies get an additional 10% Speed Bar boost.

Vulture is particularly effective against Hero enemies. For each Hero enemy present, his Block Chance increases by 10%, making him harder to be debuffed and more resilient. He also benefits from a significant +50% Drain, allowing him to recover health through damage dealt. If Vulture has at least 2 Insidious Six or Superior Six allies, all Sinister Six allies gain +50% Drain as well, enhancing the team’s survivability.

Vulture’s Passive ability is a dynamic mix of speed manipulation, resilience, and synergy that makes him a formidable asset to any Sinister Six team. Please note that all Insidious Six and Superior Six characters are also part of the Sinister Six, so these buffs will apply to all of them.

Superior Spider-Man

Superior Spider-Man is one of Marvel’s most intriguing and controversial takes on the iconic web-slinger, Spider-Man. This storyline flips the traditional hero narrative on its head, delivering a fresh and morally complex perspective on what it truly means to be a hero.

The tale begins with the shocking twist of Otto Octavius, better known as Doctor Octopus, swapping minds with Peter Parker. As Peter’s consciousness fades away, Otto takes control of his body, determined to prove that he can be a better Spider-Man than his long-time rival ever was. Armed with Peter’s memories, intellect, and physical abilities, Otto sets out on a mission to redefine heroism—his way.

What makes Superior Spider-Man stand out is Otto’s approach to crime-fighting. Unlike Peter’s compassionate and self-sacrificing methods, Otto operates with ruthless efficiency and cold calculation. He employs advanced technology, including spider-bots and surveillance systems, to monitor the city and eliminate threats before they escalate. His tactics are brutal and unforgiving—criminals quickly learn that this Spider-Man doesn’t pull punches.

Yet, beneath his arrogance and ego lies a fascinating character arc. Otto begins to experience moments of genuine heroism, grappling with Peter’s lingering influence and the weight of responsibility that comes with being Spider-Man. While he initially sees heroism as a means to prove his superiority, he slowly starts to understand the deeper values of sacrifice and selflessness.

The Superior Spider-Man storyline is packed with tension, moral dilemmas, and unexpected twists. It challenges readers to reconsider their definitions of good and evil, showcasing how even villains can evolve under the right circumstances. Otto’s journey is not just about redemption—it’s about discovering what it truly means to walk in another person’s shoes.

Ultimately, Superior Spider-Man is a bold experiment in storytelling that explores the complexity of identity, morality, and the enduring legacy of Spider-Man. It’s a tale that keeps fans on the edge of their seats while asking thought-provoking questions about the nature of heroism. Whether you love it or hate it, one thing is certain: Superior Spider-Man leaves an unforgettable mark on Marvel’s rich tapestry of stories.

Superior Spider-Man is an incredibly fast Support character who excels in enhancing his team’s performance. He can convert negative effects into positive ones, heal his allies, and generate Ability Energy, allowing his team to use their abilities more frequently. Additionally, he passively heals his team and boosts their Speed Bar whenever an enemy with negativities is attacked, ensuring they can act faster in battle. Simultaneously, he reduces the Dodge Chance of all enemies, effectively preventing them from dodging attacks.

Superior Spider-Man’s Basic ability is particularly effective in Raids. It deals 320% damage to the primary target and generates 1 Ability Energy for himself and all Sinister Six allies, greatly enhancing the team’s efficiency. Additionally, when using ISO-8 Counter Attack or Assists, it deals 245% damage with an added 17% piercing, while still providing Ability Energy in raids. This makes him a valuable asset in Raids because with him, the Insidious Six team members can use their abilities more frequently.

Special is a versatile ability with an energy cost of 5 Ability Energy, usable on the first turn. It deals 240% damage to the primary target and applies Ability Block, making it particularly effective against key enemy characters. Additionally, if Superior Spider-Man has 4 Sinister Six allies, it reduces the duration of Taunt by 2 on the primary target, allowing for strategic removal of enemy protectors.

The attack also chains to up to 5 adjacent targets, inflicting 240% damage to each, and in Raids, it applies Ability Block to these targets as well, enhancing its utility in Raid game mode. Furthermore, it flips all negative effects into positive effects on Superior Spider-Man and all Insidious Six allies. If there are at least 2 Insidious Six allies present, it extends this benefit to all Sinister Six allies.

The ability provides additional buffs, applying Safeguard for 2 turns, Defense Up for 1 turn, and 2 stacks of Evade to Superior Spider-Man, Shocker, Vulture, and all Insidious Six allies. It also applies Safeguard to all Sinister Six allies, ensuring their buffs cannot be removed. On top of this, it heals Superior Spider-Man and all Sinister Six allies for 20% of his Max Health.

This attack gains +500% Extra Focus against Hero enemies, making it highly effective against heroic characters. Importantly, it cannot be blocked or counterattacked, ensuring its reliability in combat.

In Raids, the ability’s capacity to apply Ability Block to multiple enemies makes it exceptionally efficient for controlling enemy teams. Outside Raids, its ability to remove Taunt from protectors, flip negative effects into positives, heal the team, and safeguard buffs solidifies its usefulness across various game modes.

Ultimate ability is a powerful support tool for the Sinister Six team. It costs 6 Ability Energy and can be activated on the second turn. This ability strikes both primary and adjacent targets with 350% damage, ensuring significant offensive impact.

On the defensive and supportive front, it applies 2 turns of Regeneration and Safeguard to both Superior Spider-Man and all Sinister Six allies, enhancing their survivability. Additionally, it heals the team for 25% of Superior Spider-Man’s Max Health, providing a substantial health boost during critical moments.

The energy generation aspect of this ability is particularly noteworthy. It grants 1 Special Ability Energy to Superior Spider-Man and all Sinister Six allies, while also generating an extra 2 Special Ability Energy for Superior Spider-Man, Vulture, Shocker, and all Insidious Six allies. This ensures that teammates can use their Special abilities more frequently, amplifying their effectiveness in combat. Vulture, Shocker, and all members of the Insidious Six also possess the Sinister Six trait. They will each gain a total of 3 Special Ability Energy whenever Superior Spider-Man uses his Special.

Overall, the Ultimate ability exemplifies outstanding support design, combining offense, healing, protection, and energy management to significantly elevate the team’s performance.

Passive ability provides several benefits to Sinister Six and Insidious Six allies. Upon spawning, all Sinister Six allies gain Immunity, while Superior Spider-Man, Vulture, Shocker, and all Insidious Six allies receive Immunity for 2 turns. Additionally, when attacking an enemy afflicted with any negative effect, Superior Spider-Man heals himself and all Sinister Six allies for 6% of his Max Health. If he has at least 2 Insidious Six allies and 2 other Sinister Six allies, the Speed Bar for himself and all Sinister Six allies fills by 3%, with an extra 3% Speed Bar increase for himself, Vulture, Shocker, and other Insidious Six allies. On offense, having the same ally composition reduces the enemy’s Dodge Chance by 100%.

Shocker

Shocker, one of Marvel’s intriguing villains, is a character who blends brains with brawn in a unique way. His real name is Herman Schultz, and he’s not your typical supervillain. Unlike many of Marvel’s rogues, Herman wasn’t born with superpowers or gifted with extraordinary abilities. Instead, he relied on his engineering genius to carve out his place in the criminal underworld.

Herman Schultz started off as a skilled engineer and mechanic, but life didn’t deal him the best hand. Struggling to make ends meet, he turned to crime, using his technical expertise to design weapons for robberies. His most famous invention? The Vibro-Smashers, gauntlets capable of emitting powerful shockwaves. These gauntlets gave him his moniker “Shocker” and became his signature weapon. With them, he could create seismic blasts strong enough to shatter walls, knock opponents off their feet, and even deflect bullets.

While Shocker may not be as flashy or menacing as some of Marvel’s other villains, he’s a consistent thorn in Spider-Man’s side. What makes him stand out is his practical approach to villainy. He’s not out to rule the world or seek revenge; he’s just trying to make money and survive in a world filled with superpowered beings. This pragmatic mindset often makes him more relatable than other villains with grandiose schemes.

Despite his clever inventions, Shocker has a reputation for being unlucky when it comes to facing Spider-Man. Time and time again, his plans are foiled by the web-slinger’s agility and quick wit. Yet, Shocker remains undeterred, always finding a way to bounce back and try again. His resilience is part of what makes him such a memorable character.

Over the years, Shocker has appeared in various comic storylines, animated series, and even live-action films. His costume, a yellow quilted suit designed to absorb vibrations from his gauntlets, has become iconic among Marvel fans. While he may not dominate the spotlight like some villains, Shocker has earned his place as a steadfast adversary in Spider-Man’s rogues’ gallery.

Whether you see him as a misunderstood genius or just another criminal looking for a payday, Shocker’s ingenuity and determination make him a fascinating character in the Marvel universe. And who knows? Maybe one day he’ll finally get the upper hand against Spider-Man—though Spidey fans might have something to say about that!

Shocker is the Blaster who’s essential to the Insidious Six team in Raids. When he spawns, he gives every teammate 5 Ability Energy in Raids, allowing them to use all their Abilities right from the start of the fight. This makes the whole team much more powerful and keeps their skills constantly available throughout battles.

On top of that, whenever Shocker uses his Special, he provides both Ability Energy and Offense Up to his entire team in every game mode, boosting their attack power and keeping them ready for action. On Spawn also gives Offense Up to the entire team, making sure the team starts strong. Finally, his devastating Ultimate hits multiple enemies for huge damage and reduces their Speed Bar, turning the tide of tough battles.

If you want your Insidious Six team to dominate, Shocker is the engine that keeps them running at full power.

Shocker’s Basic is straightforward but packs a punch: he attacks the primary target for 280% Piercing damage. On top of that, he applies Assist Now to the highest Damage SINISTER SIX ally, calling them in for an extra strike.

This simple skill lets Shocker deal solid damage on his own and double up by bringing in his hardest-hitting teammate for even more impact. It’s a basic attack that can do way more than just scratch the surface!

Special ability supercharges both Shocker and his team. First, he generates 1 Ability Energy for himself. If he’s teamed up with at least two Superior Six or Insidious Six allies, he takes it a step further by generating 1 Ability Energy for all Sinister Six teammates, keeping everyone’s skills ready to fire.

But that’s not all: Shocker also gives Offense Up for 2 turns to himself and every Sinister Six ally, boosting their attack power. To top it off, he fills his Speed Bar by 80%, letting him act again much sooner. As a finishing touch, he calls in one random Sinister Six ally and one random Insidious Six ally to attack the primary target, stacking up even more damage. Shocker’s Special costs 5 Ability Energy and can be used on the first turn.

Ultimate is an ability that can swing the momentum of any battle. It costs 6 Ability Energy and is ready to go on his second turn.

When unleashed, Shocker attacks the primary and adjacent enemies for 150% Piercing damage. If he has at least two Superior Six or Insidious Six allies, he also reduces the Speed Bar of all targets by 20%, slowing them down and giving your team the advantage.

But the real kicker? After the first strike, Shocker repeats the attack twice more, each time picking a new primary target randomly chosen from the secondary targets he just hit. That’s three waves of heavy-hitting Piercing damage, bouncing through the enemy team and leaving chaos in its wake.

This Ultimate makes Shocker a true threat, capable of dismantling clusters of enemies, reducing their Speed Bar, thus preventing them from playing.

Shocker’s Passive ability is what makes the Insidious Six team truly shine in Raids. On Spawn, he applies Offense Up for 2 turns to himself and all Sinister Six allies, giving the whole team a major offensive boost right out of the gate.

In War, Shocker also fills the Speed Bar by 75% for a random Sinister Six Protector ally, helping your team get ahead early. But his real strength shows in Raids: if he’s joined by at least two Insidious Six allies, he generates 5 Ability Energy for himself, Vulture, and all other Insidious Six allies. This massive energy injection enables them to activate their most powerful abilities right away, making them highly efficient and dangerous in Raid battles. And also enable simming Raid nodes with the Insidious Six team.

Don’t underestimate the impact of Offense Up on Spawn—it supercharges the team’s damage potential from the very beginning.

Hobgoblin

Hobgoblin is one of Marvel’s most unpredictable villains, forever carving his own legacy in Spider-Man’s rogues’ gallery. Hobgoblin immediately captured our imaginations with his mysterious identity and striking orange costume. Unlike Norman Osborn’s Green Goblin, the Hobgoblin is most famously Roderick Kingsley—a cunning and ruthless fashion mogul who discovered the Green Goblin’s equipment and improved upon it, making the persona his own.

What sets Hobgoblin apart is his relentless ambition and manipulative genius. Kingsley didn’t simply become a costumed criminal; he orchestrated criminal empires from the shadows, using deception, blackmail, and even brainwashing others to act as decoys. The true identity of the Hobgoblin was a long-running mystery in the comics, with several impostors and red herrings keeping fans guessing for years.

Armed with enhanced pumpkin bombs, razor-sharp bats, and his signature Goblin Glider, Hobgoblin is a constant threat to Spider-Man and the wider Marvel universe. His battles often showcase not just brute force, but psychological warfare—outsmarting his enemies and setting elaborate traps. He’s a villain who thrives on chaos and control, sometimes working with other villains, but always keeping his own interests first.

Beyond his criminal activities, Hobgoblin’s story highlights themes of greed, power, and the dangers of obsession. He reminds us that evil isn’t always born, but sometimes created by the choices we make and the masks we wear. Whether plotting from the shadows or clashing directly with heroes, Hobgoblin’s legacy is one of intrigue, deception, and thrilling mayhem—a testament to why he remains a fan favorite after all these years.

Hobgoblin is a Controller who can unleash an immense amount of damage on his enemies while bombarding them with negative effects. He carpet-bombs the battlefield with explosive attacks, flipping positive effects into negatives across multiple opponents. Hobgoblin can apply Heal Block, making it hard for foes to recover, and his greatest strength lies in his passive ability: whenever an enemy with a negative effect is attacked, he automatically reduces that enemy’s Speed Bar.

With his arsenal of disruptive skills and relentless debuffs, Hobgoblin is a nightmare for any team that relies on positive effects or quick recovery. Every explosive strike and status flip is sure to put a wicked grin on his face!

Basic attack is straightforward but effective. He strikes the primary target for 200% Piercing damage, then follows up with three bonus attacks, each dealing 50% Piercing damage.

When using ISO-8, Counter Attack, or Assists, he attacks the primary target for 182% Piercing damage.

It’s a simple move that dishes out solid damage—nothing flashy, but reliable when you need it.

Special is a devastating ability that can be used right from his first turn, costing just 3 Ability Energy. He attacks the primary target and adjacent enemies for 200% Piercing damage, flipping all positive effects on each target into negative effects. But the real power comes from the fact that he repeats this attack three more times, each time picking a new primary target from the previous secondary targets—resulting in a total of four strikes and a massive 800% Piercing damage if all hits connect.

This attack is unavoidable and cannot be blocked, making it extremely difficult for enemies to defend against. Plus, any character defeated by this move cannot be revived, putting extra pressure on the opposition. With its combination of heavy damage and disruptive effect-flipping, Hobgoblin with his Special can easily put several enemies out of combat.

True show-stopper, ready to unleash on his second turn for a cost of 6 Ability Energy is Ultimate. When used, Hobgoblin attacks all enemies for 300% damage and applies Heal Block, making it impossible for opponents to recover health.

In Raids, the power ramps up even more—he applies Trauma for 2 turns to every enemy, preventing them from cleansing debuffs and making negative effects stick. As if that wasn’t enough, Hobgoblin follows up with bonus attacks against 5 random enemies, each for 150% damage.

With at least 2 Insidious Six allies on his team, this attack cannot miss, ensuring no enemy escapes his onslaught. Hobgoblin’s Ultimate is the perfect way to wreak havoc across the enemy squad and lock down their recovery options.

Passive ability makes Hobgoblin a constant threat on the battlefield, turning every attack into a chance for chaos. Whenever Hobgoblin lands a successful hit, he applies a random negative effect to his target for 2 turns. If he’s teamed with at least 2 Insidious Six and 2 other Sinister Six allies, things get even nastier—he applies Offense Down, Defense Down, and Slow for 2 turns instead, with a massive +1,000% Extra Focus to make sure these debuffs stick.

But the mayhem doesn’t end there. Whenever any enemy with a negative effect is attacked, Hobgoblin automatically targets the most injured foe for 150% damage. If the team requirements are met, he also reduces that enemy’s Speed Bar by 6%, slowing them down even further.

With a full Insidious Six lineup, neither Hobgoblin nor his Sinister Six allies can have their Focus reduced, ensuring a much easier way to land debuffs. Especially when you consider that some opponents can cripple your Focus at the start of battles, Hobgoblin’s passive becomes even more valuable. With the right allies, he and his Sinister Six teammates are completely protected from Focus reduction. This passive ability turns Hobgoblin into a relentless controller—crippling enemies, spreading debuffs, and keeping the pressure on from start to finish.

Combat Tips & Tricks

Despite being designed to dominate Tech nodes in Raids, the Insidious Six—together with their two allied members, Vulture and Shocker—can be extremely effective in War and Cosmic Crucible as well. All five characters are Sinister Six, which gives them excellent synergy with other Superior and Sinister Six characters. Scorpion also has the Infestation trait, so he can even be used as a strong War defense option with this team.

Their synergy with Sinister Six characters allows for flexible combinations, which makes them incredibly powerful in both War and Crucible. For example, in Crucible, you can swap Shocker out for Green Goblin (Classic) to create a team that’s especially strong for that game mode. In War, you can mix them with other Sinister Six members to build up to three formidable teams for use in that mode.

In Raids, this team is simply a powerhouse—no further explanation needed. The most important thing is to upgrade them enough so you can sim the nodes at your current Raid difficulty; they’ll have no trouble handling it.

As for gameplay, if you’re facing teams or characters that can’t prevent your Speed Bar from increasing—and if there are at least two Hero characters on the enemy team—Vulture will take the first turn. His Special can hit several opponents, apply Slow and Offense Down, and strip away positive effects. Next, Superior Spider-Man uses his Special, removes enemy Taunt (if present), controls an opponent with Ability Block, and buffs your team to make them highly durable. Hobgoblin can then choose his target, use his Special, and deal massive damage—possibly even taking out an enemy or two.

Shocker provides Ability Energy with his Special, but it won’t be enough for Scorpion to open with his Ultimate on his first turn; he’ll need to use his Special first. However, on his second turn, thanks to the Ability Energy from Shocker, Scorpion will be able to use his Ultimate. The only exception is Raids, where Scorpion can always open with Ultimate.

All in all, this team is very strong and can be extremely successful and efficient in War and Crucible, especially against teams that can’t stop you from filling your Speed Bar or reducing theirs. This is a must-have team—not only for Raids, but also because you’ll actually want to invest in them thanks to their exceptional versatility everywhere.
