Biography

Little Peter Quill was abducted from the Earth as a kid, right after his mom passed away. Armed with his two guns and the greatest hits of the 70s cassette tape, Peter certainly earned the moniker Star-Lord.

As the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter helped save it many times. He found out along the way that he was half alien, a child of a godlike entity. However, this doesn’t change much for Peter as he is still into good music and saving good people.

Abilities

Normal Attack (Left Click): Element Guns –Shoot enemies with dual Element Guns. This hero requires practice in tracking aim, so be sure to do that. You don’t have to be at very close range but not far away either to get the best use of them.

• Galactic Legend (Q) – Engage in free-flight and lock onto enemies in sight. Amazing ult that is too easy to hit, just remember that you can use your movement while doing it it will help a lot. The best combination is with his Stellar Shift (Right Click) because on top of movement gives you a quick reload that you desperately need in this ult because you wanna shoot as much as you can while it lasts.
  
  
• Rocket Propulsion (LShift) – Boost and soar forward. His best tool for covering distance, either to escape or get closer to the enemy. Pushing high ground is also one of the advantages of this ability. Be sure to use it from the spawn to get to the position to do damage faster.
  
  
• Blaster Barrage (E) – Fire a frenzy of shots, causing damage to enemies within range. It has a short range, so I would recommend it for finishing the target off or if you lose sight of it. Sometimes is good to shoot characters in the air after you use LShift to get to them because it’s the only ability you can use while flying, except the ult, of course. The best use for this ability is to press right it above their team for a massive ult charge. If you have Magneto in your team try to communicate with him to give you a bubble in the moment you press E.
  
  
• Stellar Shift (Right Click) – Dodge in the direction of movement and swiftly reload. This is how you break enemy ankles and confuse their aim. Always make them guess on which side are you going next, and don’t forget it reloads your gun so be ready to shoot in between them.
  
  
• Leader’s Soul (Passive) – Team-Up Ability – Adam Warlock enhances the rebirth power of Star-Lord and Mantis, granting them the power of cocooned revival. Another life for a flanker does that he can play more aggressively and that’s what they dream of. But be ready to resurrect in a safe spot, don’t press it instantly, just go behind cover and feel free to mess with them again.

Strengths

Star-Lord shines against squishy and isolated targets. He is very hard to hit due to his movement and size. Overall, he is a true jack-of-all-trades that fits every team composition.

Weaknesses

He is squishy. Once Star-Lord gets crowd-controlled, he is done for.

Counters

Namor, Spider-Man

Like any other flanker in the game, Namor is a nightmare for Star-Lord also due to his annoying turrets that are very hard to deal with characters that don’t have much time to shoot the enemy and don’t have that much hp.

My advice here is to try to shoot them as much as you can before you go in or ask your teammates to help you destroy them because there are a lot of heroes that have no trouble dealing with them.

After all that try to move as much as you can to make Namor hard to hit you while you are shooting him.

Dealing with Spidey has another problem, due to his movement his very hard to track, and that is the only way Star-Lord can aim. Also, he just needs to hit one of his Web Cluster (Right Click), to start his combo, and if he has Venom Team Up he can one-shot you.

My advice is to try to annoy him as much as you can by shooting from a distance and making him run away and use your Blaster Barrage (E) if he is really close, also try to focus him first if you can.

Team-Ups

Once Star-Lord is paired with Adam Warlock, he will benefit from the revive ability that lets him play even more aggressively, wreaking havoc on the enemy backline.

Synergy

This hero is great for most compositions, but gets to truly thrive amongst dive heroes! Characters like Venom or Hulk are perfect for him because nobody will pay attention to you.

Tips and Tricks

Always shoot from an off-angle and annoying little mosquito.

Try to take their attention as much as you can.

Remember that your life is more worth than anything else, the longer you live, the longer you live, the longer they have to watch their back, which gives free push from the front that your team can use.

Use your shift to escape tough spots, catch running enemies, and get to higher ground if you need to.

Try to build your ultimate ability as fast as possible, and don’t overthink it, sometimes is even enough to kill one enemy to change the flow of the fight. I recommend even using it in 1v1 duels if you feel that can give you an advantage.
