Biography

Thor and Loki sure were unpleasantly surprised when they learned they had a sister, the Goddess of Death no less! Hela, the ruler of Hel, controls souls that pass on into the other world without mercy or bias.

On the battlefield, Hela summons undead armies and other dark minions to do her bidding. She made a pact with Loki to help his coup attempt but had plans to trick the trickster and expand her Hel domain into the living world, which is how she ended up here.

Abilities

Normal Attack (Left Click): Nightsword Thorn –Throw Nightsword thorns. Practice your aim and try to land headshots as much as you can. Hela can benefit both from tracking and flicking depends which are you more comfortable of, but in this game where characters can fly around you like mosquitos I would recommend trying to Flick in those situations because even if u would be able to aimbot it feels like you wouldn’t catch them.

• Goddess of Death (Q) – Soar into the sky and unleash Nastrond Crows from each hand at will. Can be used to escape dangerous situations, use it as an extra life. Insane for mid-fight because they will have no time to kill you and while they are looking at your team you will destroy them. Unlike her auto attack, her ultimate is projectile but with a huge range so you shouldn’t have trouble hitting them.
  
  
• Astral Flock (LShift) – Dash into any direction you want. On top of that, you are immortal for the duration of the flight. Save it mostly for escape but sometimes is good for getting in better spots like high ground. Also, remember that you can cancel it anytime.
  
  
• Soul Drainer (E) – Project an explosive Hel sphere to Stun nearby enemies. Pulls targets towards the center of the explosion. Good ability to use against flankers because they become a much easier target to hit. It’s just it doesn’t last very long so you need to act quickly.
  
  
• Piercing Night (Right Click) – Fire multiple Nightsword thorns that detonate after a delay. I would spam this on tanks whenever I can but sometimes it’s also good when you are out of ammo and you need to finish targets. Also unlike her left click this is a projectile and you will need some time to get used to it.
  
  
• Nastrond Crowstorm (Passive) – Defeating an enemy will generate a Nastrond Crow, exploding after a duration. Not ability you have an impact on but when they are grouped up it’s very useful.
  
  
• Hel’s Descent (Passive) – Hold Space to fall slowly. Sometimes very good to dodge air and splash damage shots due to you being in the air.
  
  
• Queen of Hel (Passive) – Team Up Ability – When Hela lands a final hit in defeating an enemy, she can instantly resurrect Loki and Thor in the respawn phase. If Loki or Thor is alive, a Nastrond Crow will fly to him, granting blue armor.

Strengths

Hela has the highest kill potential of all heroes in the game. She is a great hero to pick into flying and slow heroes as they make for an easy target!

Weaknesses

An easy target to pick off. Once Astral Flock (LShift) is used, she can have a hard time dealing with flankers. Especially dive tanks like Venom or Hulk because she just doesn’t have enough ammo to burst them down.

Team-Ups

While Hela doesn’t have much use from her Team Up with Loki and Thor, they get a ton of useful things. First, if Loki is alive, whenever Hela lands a finishing blow to a target, Loki will gain bonus armor, making him a lot more tanky. On top of that, if Loki dies and Hela secures a kill, Loki will instantly come back to life where he died! Now imagine all that with Tank, reviving the full hp tank back in the fight in the blink of an eye, it’s just unfair sometimes.

Synergy

Hela fits Poke compositions like a glove. But also she can fit in any team that can create space for her. If Hela can shoot uncontested she will never lose.

Counters

Venom, Spider-Man

Hela has insane damage potential but is squishy and easily divable. That is why characters like Venom and Spidey, who are often played together, are strong against her.

The best advice against Venom is to shoot him as much as you can before he comes to you and play next to your support when he dives so they can help you out, and he has to choose which one to attack.

Against Spidey, I recommend saving both your Soul Dreiner (E) and Astral Flock (LShift) to try to stun him and escape, also same as against Venom try to be in the line of sight of your strategist to help you out.

Tips and Tricks

Try to keep your distance from targets and save Astral Flock (LShift) to escape tricky situations.

Shooting targets from an off angle can easily secure you the kill and turn the tides of the fight in your favor.

Your ultimate ability can be used defensively as well, allowing you to escape incoming damage as Hela doesn’t die when shot in her ultimate form, but transforms back to her normal form instead!

Hela is one of the characters that requires aim practice as much as you can.
