Thor Guide | Marvel Rivals
Biography
Thor Odinson is also tangled with the rest of the gang here in this Timestream paradox, to call it that. He is of course going to bring the hammer down on anyone who stirs some evil wherever. This version of Thor wields the old-school Mjolnir. But, the old news here is that Loki tricked Thor and exiled him into this timeline.
When their father went into Odinsleep, the two princesses battled for the throne and, well, you know the rest. Now, one of the strongest Avengers will bring the pain as a vanguard hero in any team composition.

| MAXIMUM DISTANCE | 24m |
| DAMAGE | Outward Projectile Damage: 70; Returning Projectile Damage: 30 |

Storm Surge (LShift) – Hold to spin Mjolnir before dashing forward and Knocking Back enemies. Great ability to close the distance which Thor needs as it is important to stay in close range. It is also very good for escaping from dangerous situations. You can also use this ability to get to the high ground and otherwise hard-to-get spots on different maps.

God of Thunder (Q) – Soar upwards and smite the ground after charging for a duration, inflicting damage on enemies within range. Thunderous Deity (Passive) – Team Up Ability – Thor infuses Thorforce into Storm, granting her an electrifying enhancement, Storm can unleash a lightning barrage.
Strengths
Thor’s greatest strength is his big damage potential. When he is in enemy lines, he cannot be ignored, which is very good as he also creates a lot of room for his teammates. He is a typical rush hero with abilities that let him quickly get in and out of the fight. Once he gets in your face, you are in for a rough time.
Weaknesses
He is weak against long-range and flying characters. Also, if he overstays his welcome, he is easy to burst down as he is a big target that is easy to hit.
Counters
Punisher, Hela, Iron Man, Storm, Wolverine
The strongest Avenger feels like that on the field, but the problem is he is very big and can’t cover distances that easily as in comics and movies, that’s why characters that can keep their distance from him and shoot him can be a problem.
Against all four of these duelists I have the same basic advice, don’t play Thor like he is the immortal god that he is, you wanna use cover, wait for the right moment when you are closer to show them who is boss.
The only one who can be a problem in close range, and he is a problem for every hero if he is good, is The Punisher. Try to save your Awakening Rune or your ult for him to burst him down.
Wolverine is just a Vanguard buster and you should be aware of that no matter which one you play.
Team-Ups
Thor’s team-up with Hela gives him one more chance to destroy enemies, and, imagine having the ability to revive a tank with full HP in the middle of a fight. On top of that, Thor also gives Captain America and Storm an extra damage ability as he is all about destroying everyone!
Synergy
Not only does Thor give Captain America and Storm more ways to deal with enemies, but they also fit perfectly with his play style. He loves going into the meat like his Avenger brother, and Storm can give them the much-needed speed boost that lets them cover the distance quickly. Overall, Thor is great in any team that can play rush with him.
Tips and Tricks
As Thor is a tank that likes being in the enemies’ faces, try to get to them as close as possible.
Every ability that he uses will replenish some of his HP, but, despite that, you are still a big and easy target to hit so make sure not to get too greedy and stay in the fight for too long.
Use your LShift ability to not only engage but also disengage from dangerous situations.
Overall, get in quickly, disrupt enemies, run out, rinse, and repeat.
Keep track of Thorforce in order to get used to combos as your gameplay revolves around it.
You can get back Thorforce if u land punch right after using Storm Surge (LShift) or Hammer Throw (Right Click).
