Improve Your Aiming | Marvel Rivals

Sensitivity

As you probably know, Marvel Rivals is an Overwatch-like game, which means that for most of the heroes, you will need some kind of aiming skills to be good, especially for the most played role – DPS or Duelist, whatever you like.

First things first – your sensitivity doesn’t matter too much and you shouldn’t be wasting your time on things like that.

As every person plays differently, and every game differs, even characters in games, simply play on sensitivity which feels the most comfortable for you.

Don’t try to copy other streamers or players. As long as you aren’t playing on extremely low sensitivity that makes you feel like you aren’t moving, or extremely high which makes you run around in circles, you will be just fine.

Even if you do change your sensitivity from time to time, everything will be fine, as all you need is a decent mouse and you are ready to go!

There are two different types of aiming – tracking and flicking, while the rest is simply a combination of the two.

Tracking

Tracking means you are dragging your crosshair on the screen, wherever your target is.

You should start with simple steps – find a stationary target and try to hold your crosshair on it as much as you can while you move around. That way you can figure out your sensitivity and whether you need to increase it or lower it.

After that, you can try to switch targets and move as you track them and see how that feels.

You can also try to remove HUD or crosshair, even though it might seem a bit weird at first.

Games such as Marvel Rivals and Overwatch are quite different than CS and Valorant, with some heroes being exceptions. However, we will cover that another time.

You should simply train your eyes to look at the target instead of your crosshair, which is why you will see a lot of Rivals and Overwatch players have weird crosshairs as it doesn’t really matter much.

This way, you will train your eyes to be on target all the time, while your arm will follow their order.

You will feel your aim a lot better, as well as how bullets feel, register, and all of that! On top of that, you will feel amazed how you don’t really need crosshair at all once you try this!

Then there’s another helpful trick. After you have found your sensitivity, the one you feel most comfortable with, go into settings and increase it by just a little bit.

Imagine if you walk with weights all the time, and, after some time you take them off and start moving without them. You would feel as light as a feather!

It’s the same thing with aiming. You practice on hard mode this way, and, while it’s not going to be easy in the beginning, once you take the weights off and go play some quickplay or competitive game it is going to be easy mode for you and you won’t need to think about your crosshair placement and aiming at all, allowing you to focus on more important things such as positioning, cooldown management and things like that! So, if you practice it for a couple of minutes every day, or do it like warm-up before games, you will get good in no time!

Flicking

In this kind of aim you snap your crosshair on the target as fast as you can. Because this is all about muscle memory I advise you to take small steps so that your brain can get used to it.

For a start, I recommend going in practice range and putting your crosshair close to the training bot, then try to move it as fast as you can to his head. As you get faster and more accurate you progress by moving your crosshair further away and flicking faster.

After that you can try to flick from one bot to another, then when u master that try to implement one more, and you get the pattern.

Remember to not overstress yourself, it will take a lot of time, and even the great players have not perfected it.

Hitscan and Projectile

Hitscan is when a bullet takes no time to get to the target, it hits instantly when u press your Left Click in a position where you put your crosshair.

Characters like Hela, Punisher, and Star-Lord.. are all hitscan champs and if you wanna play them, the best way to practice your aim is with the guides I gave you above. Some of them need more training in tracking and some in flicking, but most need both.

Characters Like Iron Man, Namor, and Rocket Raccoon.. are projectile-based, which means their weapons, after you shoot, take some time to hit the target.

The best advice, no matter how stupid it sounds, is to play as much as you can. Because every weapon projectile time, on most characters, is different, you just need to get used to it.

Another thing is to remember to not aim where the target is but to shoot where you think it’s gonna be when your projectile hits.
