Biography
Doreen Green is more than just a computer science student at Empire State University. She also happens to have the powers of a squirrel AND the powers of a girl! With her BFFF (Best Furry Friend Forever) Tippy-Toe by her side, Doreen eats nuts and kicks butts as the unbeatable Squirrel-Girl! After the Timestream Entanglement, things got weird…er. With all of New York City under attack by creatures of the night, Squirrel Girl assembled an adorable army to reclaim Central Park from the clutches of Dracula. Here’s hoping vampires don’t like the taste of squirrel!
Abilities
Abilities:
- Burst Acorn (LClick)– Shoot bouncing Burst Acorns. Very straightforward ability, a bouncing projectile that deals a large amount of damage on impact. Amazing for shooting at chokes and stopping the enemy from pushing through it.
- Squirrel Blockade (RClick) – Launch an acorn to unleash Squirrel Guards, Imprisoning the first hit enemy. This ability is very hard to hit if you are not shooting slow enemies like Vanguards, but it’s amazing for securing kills. In combination with Mammal Bond (E), which can reset your RClick you can totally remove their Vanguard from the game. It’s smart to call your teammates when someone is trapped for help so you can burst them down together faster.
- Tail Bounce (LShift) – Rocket upwards with a bounce of her tail. This seems like her main movement ability. That is really good so she can escape dangerous spots but also be unpredictable and hard to kill, and surprise enemies from different angles. This ability can also be restarted with her Mammal Bond and can be very useful if u are running away from divers.
- Mammal Bond (E) – Reload Burst Acorns and can use an ability without cooldown once in a short duration. Depending on the situation, but usually, you wanna use it for trapping enemies two times, especially on the big hp ones. But sometimes you want to get to the really high spots on the map to not get killed easily so then double Tail Bounce will do the trick.
- Unbeatable Squirrel Tsunami (Q) – Summon a horde of squirrels to charge forward, dealing damage while bouncing against structures. Like it isn’t enough already, it seems like good Squirrel Girl will destroy your will to play this game, especially in closed maps. They bounce back so remember to use it in tight spaces.
- Webbed Acorn – Team-Up Ability – Spider-Man gives Squirrel Girl a web bomb. She can launch it to unleash an explosion on impact with the environment or an enemy, briefly immobilizing and damaging enemies caught in the blast. When you have this available every Vanguard will hate you, they will not be able to play the game at all due to the amount of CC you have.
Suggested Combo
Shoot bouncing Burst Acorns with the left-click ability, and skillfully use the terrain to wear down enemies on their must-pass routes. Spot the chance when the enemy strays from their team, immobilize them with Squirrel Blockade, then coordinate with allies for a focused strike to take them down.
Strengths
The way is shot, it is guarded by Squirrel Girl and she is gonna keep it that way. If there is any tight space or choke you and your team have to go through, and the enemies have Squirrel, my honest opinion is to queue for the next game, maybe you get lucky and they don’t play her.
She is great at stopping Vanguards that like to be in your face like Thor, Hulk, Venom, and Captain America due to the amount of stuns she has.
Weaknesses
She doesn’t have anything to deal with flying characters but I’m sure you are gonna see some crazy Squirrel Girl mains who will bounce on their tail and hit Iron Man like he is nothing.
Counters
Iron Man, Storm
Because you have only projectiles it looks like there is no way you can deal with these two. But as you already probably know there are so many Junkrat one-trick ponies in Overwatch who are in the top 100 players on the server. If her movement is good enough and you master your projectile trajectory I don’t doubt Tony and Storm will feel like you are countering them, not the other way around.
Tips and Tricks
Don’t forget to use wall bounce for your acorns. Holding LClick from the cover and bouncing your projectile to enemies will be something you wanna do most of the time.
Holding chokes is where you shine so maps with tight spaces are your home.
Be annoying don’t let them pass for free, you are the Gatekeeper.
