Mighty Tower: Storm

VIDEO ADVERTISEMENT

Intro

Get ready for the ultimate test of your roster as the Mighty Tower event arrives, giving you your very first chance to collect Storm (Mighty) character shards! This new Tower event will challenge you with two difficulty levels and offer rewarding milestones each week, encouraging you to strengthen your team and climb as high as possible.

Storm (Mighty) is the highlight of this Tower’s debut, and by advancing through the event and hitting key milestones, you’ll be able to earn her character shards and boost her power during the event’s first run.

You can unlock up to 6 Yellow Stars for Storm (Mighty) just by playing through the Tower event. If you’re aiming for a 7th Yellow Star right away, keep an eye out for special offers with extra shards. Don’t worry if you miss out—the Mighty Tower will return, giving you another shot to further enhance your roster and Storm (Mighty) herself.

Tower Rules

This event features two difficulty levels for every floor of the Tower:

  • Mighty Tower: Storm
  • Mighty Tower: Storm (Omega)

Depending on how strong and deep your roster is, you can choose the path that suits you best.

Since the Exalted X-Men are designed for Cosmic Crucible battles, the event is set up to give an advantage to Cosmic Crucible teams on each floor. While you’re not required to use these squads, bringing them will make taking down enemies much easier and help you advance more efficiently.

The Mighty Tower is made up of 12 floors, but only 6 will be available at first, with the remaining 6 floors unlocking in the second week of the event. Every floor comes with both Easy and Hard options, so there’s always a new challenge as the event goes on.

Here’s how it works:

  • Two levels of difficulty (Easy and Hard)
  • 12 floors in total
  • 6 floors open each week
  • Each room on a floor has specific trait requirements
  • You’ll send a team of 5 characters into every battle

You’ll need to make smart choices with your roster for each room, because after you win, the team you used will go on cooldown until the next set of floors is released. All players get a reset at the same time, so every win and every roster decision counts toward how far you can climb.

If you want to try again or take a different approach, you can reset your Tower progress at any time. This lets you replay floors, and all your characters on cooldown will become available again.

One important note: Health and abilities for both your team and the enemies reset before every mission, so you always start with full health and ability energy.

To succeed, you can:

  • Strategically save your best teams for the toughest floors
  • Reset your progress and try a new tactic if you need to

Whether you focus on climbing as far as possible in one go or try different strategies with resets, the Mighty Tower rewards players who can adapt and make smart decisions.

Floors Requirements

  • Cell 1: Global
  • Cell 2: Hero Cosmic
  • Cell 3: Mutant
  • Cell 4: Villain Mystic
  • Cell 5: Non-Mythic Global Hero or Non-Mythic City Hero
  • Cell 6: Non-Mythic X-Men
  • Cell 7: Global
  • Cell 8: Hero Cosmic
  • Cell 9: Mutant
  • Cell 10: Villain Mystic
  • Cell 11: Non-Mythic Global Hero or Non-Mythic City Hero
  • Cell 12: Non-Mythic X-Men

As we can see from the requirements, Crucible teams will be dominant in the first 6 Cells, especially since the Cosmic Crucible rules are active in this Mighty Tower event. Teams like Starjammer, Accursed, Phoenix Force, New Mutant, and Daring Warrior will all be useful. You can find out exactly where to use each of them in our walkthrough.

Rewards

Climbing the Tower Milestones will earn you Tower Commendations, which in turn help you make progress toward weekly Commander Center Objectives and the special Queen’s Tempest Milestone.

By completing the Queen’s Tempest Milestone, you can look forward to rewards like:

  • Storm (Mighty) character shards
  • Storm (Mighty) Red Stars and Diamonds

If you’re looking for an even greater challenge—and bigger rewards—try out the Mighty Tower: Storm (Omega) difficulty. Taking on this tougher version of the event lets you earn even more Storm (Mighty) shards, making it the fastest way to level up this powerful character.

  • Players whose teams aren’t strong enough to play the Omega version of the Tower can still participate in the regular version, where they can earn 1 Yellow and 1 Red Star for Storm (Mighty).
  • However, those who are able to clear at least the first Cell in the Omega version will collect enough Shards to earn 2 Yellow and 1 Red Star for Storm (Mighty).
  • For those players who don’t have strong Crucible teams, but they have Winter Guard, Brimstone, Fantastic Four (MCU) teams, clearing at least the first and second missions in the Omega version of the Tower shouldn’t be too difficult, and that will be enough to earn 2 Yellow and 2 Red Stars for Storm (Mighty).
  • Players who are able to complete all 6 Cells in the Omega version of the Tower during the first week of the event will collect 3 Yellow and 3 Red Stars for Storm (Mighty).
  • Players who complete all 12 Cells in the Omega version of the Tower during the second week of the event will earn enough Character Shards for 6 Yellow Stars for Storm (Mighty), as well as all 7 Red Stars and even 2 Diamonds for her.
  • Character Shards for the seventh Yellow Star will become available through offers after that.

Video Guide

Walkthrough

Cell 1: Global

Suggested team: Brimstone + OML or Winter Guard + OML

The vast majority of players have invested in Brimstone and/or Winter Guard teams, and many also have a strong Old Man Logan. Combining Old Man Logan with either of these teams is an excellent strategy for Cell 1.

We played this Cell with Brimstone plus Old Man Logan (without Strange [Heartless], since he is Cosmic and doesn’t fit the Global category). At the start of the battle, use Ultimate with Daimon Hellstrom, then use Special with Old Man Logan to Stun either Hyperion or Victoria Hand. After that, when your other characters get their turns, focus on taking down Victoria, Lady Bullseye, and Songbird first.

Old Man Logan will dominate once he uses his Ultimate, and when Elsa Bloodstone and Daimon join in for their second turns, most opponents will already be dealt with. After eliminating a few enemies, Ikaris and Sersi will appear, but by then the momentum will be strongly in your favor. This first Cell is very easy.

Cell 2: Hero Cosmic

Suggested team: Starjammer

The Starjammer team is ideal for this Cell. Bring Nova (Sam Alexander) instead of Rocket Raccoon, but if you don’t have a strong Nova, Rocket can do the job as well.

At the very start, use Special abilities with both Havok and Howard—target Emma Frost (X-Men) with both characters. This should be enough to eliminate her and Old Man Logan, who is standing next to her, while also dealing heavy damage to Shadow King and Ancient One nearby. If you don’t eliminate Emma and Logan right away, it’s not a problem—they’ll likely go down in the next turn or two (for example, after Nova uses his Ultimate).

With Lilandra, there’s no need to use her Ultimate; instead, use her Special and target Apocalypse. If your Lilandra is strong enough, this will result in eliminating both Apocalypse and Emma Frost, who is next to him.

After you defeat all the enemies, a second wave will appear with four Winter Guard characters (all except Yelena Belova). This is the perfect time to use Havok’s Ultimate to remove Taunt from Red Guardian, then focus your attacks on Darkstar and Omega Red.

Thanks to the Crucible rules, Starjammers have a huge advantage over Winter Guard, who are War characters, so you shouldn’t have any trouble completing this mission successfully.

Cell 3: Mutant

Suggested team: Phoenix Force + Professor Xavier + Shadow King

This Cell is the perfect opportunity to use Phoenix Force, and alongside them, you should bring two very strong Mutants: Professor Xavier and Shadow King.

After Superior Spider-Man takes his turn, your Magneto (Phoenix Force) will be up. Use Magneto’s Ultimate, targeting Scorpion to hit him, Vulture, Spider-Slayer, and Hobgoblin with this attack. Green Goblin (Classic), who goes next, won’t be able to use his Ultimate since Magneto’s Ultimate reduces his Ultimate Ability Energy by 2; instead, he’ll have to use his Special.

Next, it’s Professor Xavier’s turn. Use his Special and target either Superior Spider-Man or Hobgoblin. After Professor’s Special, stick to using Basic attacks until the second wave of enemies appears. In the second wave, you’ll face Knull and Hive-Mind characters. Focus your attacks on Knull first—once he’s eliminated, the battle is practically won.

It’s also important to note that in Mighty Tower: Storm, once characters are used in a Cell, they go on cooldown until the second week of the event. Each mission is a separate battle, and Ability Energy does not carry over, so there’s no need to save any abilities—use them when you need them.

Cell 4: Villain Mystic

Suggested team: Accursed + Knull / Mephisto

For Cell 4, use the Accursed team and bring either Knull or Mephisto—we used Knull.

At the start, use Knull’s Ultimate to apply Battlefield Effect to the enemy side. You’ll be forced to attack Gladiator with Satana, since he has Taunt; use her Ultimate as well. Next, it’s The Hood’s turn—use his Special, focusing on Gladiator until he’s eliminated. After that, Hellverine should use his Ultimate, which will cause chaos among the enemies and likely eliminate some of them, if not all.

Finish off any remaining opponents with Basic attacks until the second wave arrives. In this wave, you’ll face three Astral characters—focus on Shadow King first, then Emma (X-Men), and finally Ancient One.

Like the other Cells in the first week of Mighty Tower: Storm, this one is also quite easy as long as you have the right teams—specifically, those specialized for Cosmic Crucible.

Cell 5: Non-Mythic Global Hero or Non-Mythic City Hero

Suggested team: Darring Warrior

The Daring Warrior team is designed for this Cell. At the start, you’ll face the full New Mutant team, who are also specialized for Crucible, but Daring Warrior are a natural counter to them. This means you shouldn’t have any trouble taking them out. Don’t hold back on using any of your abilities—you’ll eliminate the New Mutants easily.

Afterwards, the Liberty characters will appear. They’re a War-specialized team, so they also won’t pose much of a challenge. If you have a decently strong Daring Warrior team, this Cell should be no problem for you.

Cell 6: Non-Mythic X-Men

Suggested team: New Mutant

For Cell 6, use the New Mutants team. In the first wave of enemies, focus your attacks on Apocalypse. Start by using Special abilities with both Cannonball and Wolfsbane, targeting Apocalypse as your primary threat. After these two opening moves, all enemies will be heavily debuffed, suffering from effects like Trauma, Bleed, Blind, Heal Block, and Offense Down—so they basically won’t be able to do anything to you.

When Warlock gets his turn, use his Ultimate—there’s no need to save any abilities. After that, eliminate the remaining enemies. Once you’ve cleared them, Satana and Morgan Le Fay will appear, and you’ll be able to take them down without much trouble as well. You can Stun one of them with Cannonball’s Ultimate and focus your attacks on the other, making it even easier to finish them off.

Overall, the first 6 Cells are very easy with well-built Cosmic Crucible teams.

Cell 7: Global

Suggested team: Brimstone + OML / Sentry or Winter Guard + OML / Sentry

The vast majority of players have invested in Brimstone and/or Winter Guard teams, and many also have a strong Old Man Logan and Sentry. Combining Old Man Logan or Sentry with either of these teams is an excellent strategy for Cell 1. We played this Cell with Brimstone plus Old Man Logan (without Strange [Heartless], since he is Cosmic and doesn’t fit the Global category).

At the start, you’ll be facing all six Absolute A-Force characters. Kahhori will take her two Basic attacks, dealing significant damage to Living Mummy, so it’s important that your Mummy is strong enough to withstand those hits. After that, it’s your team’s turn: use Daimon Hellstrom’s Ultimate, and have Old Man Logan use his Special, targeting Ms. Marvel (Classic) to Stun her. With Hellcat, use her Ultimate on Kahhori to Stun her as well. With Elsa, use her Ultimate and target Medusa as your primary target. All these abilities will deal excellent damage to the enemies and load them up with debuffs. The only real threat is Moon Girl and her Ultimate, but you shouldn’t have too much trouble surviving it.

In the second wave, you’ll face three X-Treme X-Men characters (Nightcrawler, Forge, and Gambit), along with Rogue. Gambit can deal huge damage with his passive attacks, so you’ll want to keep him under control. Old Man Logan can use his Special on Gambit to help with that. These four opponents can be tricky, but you shouldn’t have major problems defeating them. Focus on controlling Gambit and Rogue, while Forge and Nightcrawler should be your primary targets for elimination.

Cell 8: Hero Cosmic

Suggested team: Starjammer

The Starjammer team is ideal for this Cell. Bring Nova (Sam Alexander) instead of Rocket Raccoon, but if you don’t have a strong Nova, Rocket can do the job as well.

At the very start, use Havok’s Special and target Cannonball, aiming to remove his Taunt—even if you don’t succeed, it’s not a big issue. With Rocket, use his Ultimate; if Cannonball still has Taunt, keep him as your primary target, otherwise switch your focus to Emma Frost (X-Men). Cannonball gets 2 Deflects at the beginning of the battle, so it may be a bit challenging to remove his Taunt right away.

With Nova (Sam Alexander), use his Ultimate, and do the same with Lilandra. With Groot, use his Special and target Invisible Woman (MCU), since she’s the fastest of all the enemies and poses the greatest threat.

After this opening sequence, the enemies will be loaded with debuffs, and some may even be eliminated, making it easy for you to finish the battle successfully.

Cell 9: Mutant

Suggested team: Phoenix Force + Professor Xavier + Shadow King

This Cell is the perfect opportunity to use Phoenix Force, and alongside them, you should bring two very strong Mutants: Professor Xavier and Shadow King.

At the start, use Ultimate with Magneto. Ideally, your primary target should be Emma Frost, so you can also hit Mephisto, The Leader, and Sebastian Shaw along with her. Sebastian Shaw deals huge damage, and if you’re unlucky, Professor could be eliminated early on—but even if that happens, the rest of your team should have no problem finishing this Cell.

With Shadow King, use his Special on The Leader, and with your other characters, try to save their abilities for later. You’ll easily finish off the first wave of enemies; the only challenge is taking one strong hit each from Mephisto and Sebastian Shaw.

In the second wave, you’ll face Daimon Hellstrom, Azazel, Living Mummy, and Rachel Summers. Use all the abilities you have on them—Living Mummy should be your primary target since he has Taunt. You shouldn’t have any trouble eliminating them before they get a chance to take their turns. Magneto’s Special, along with the Ultimates from Omega Red and Shadow King, will be more than enough to secure the win.

Cell 10: Villain Mystic

Suggested team: Accursed + Knull / Mephisto

For Cell 4, use the Accursed team and bring either Knull or Mephisto—we used Knull.

Start by using Knull’s Ultimate to apply his Battlefield Effect. Next, use Satana’s Ultimate, targeting Lilandra. After that, it’s The Hood’s turn—use his Special, but be careful: if your Hood isn’t strong enough, he can easily be knocked out by enemy counterattacks, especially if his Special targets four opponents (on the right side of the enemy field—Howard, Rocket, Havok, and Groot).

Then, use Hellverine’s Ultimate. After completing all these attacks, all enemies will be hit with Ability Block, Trauma, and a bunch of other nasty debuffs, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finishing off the first wave of enemies.

In the second wave, the Galactic Council trio—Quasar, Blastaar, and Thunderstrike—will appear. However, your team will have a solid turn order advantage, so you’ll be able to take them down without much trouble.

Cell 11: Non-Mythic Global Hero or Non-Mythic City Hero

Suggested team: Daring Warrior

The Daring Warrior team is designed for this Cell. At the start, the enemy Magneto (Phoenix Force) goes first and will deal solid damage along with some debuffs, but your Eclipse will neutralize this with her Special. Next, you’ll need to withstand Darkstar’s Ultimate, and then it’s your team’s turn.

Use Ultimate abilities with both Night Thrasher and Daredevil. With Speedball, use his Special to target Omega Red (Phoenix Force), who should be your primary focus—take him out as soon as possible. Use Jessica Jones’s Special, and then when Eclipse’s turn comes around again, use her Ultimate. Even if you eliminate Phoenix, don’t worry—she can’t revive Omega Red (Phoenix Force) because Eclipse prevents revives.

In the second wave, focus on Captain Britain and Black Panther (Shuri) first, then handle the remaining enemies. If Spider-Weaver manages to take a turn and applies 5 Charged to herself, it may prolong the fight a bit, but the outcome will already be in your favor.

Cell 12: Non-Mythic X-Men

Suggested team: Exalted X-Men or New Mutant

This Cell is designed for the Exalted X-Men team, with the option to bring one additional X-Men character of your choice, since Morph is currently unavailable. However, it’s also possible to clear this Cell with the New Mutants team, but you’ll need all of them to be extremely strong—Level 110 and GT20. Even then, the challenge is significant, but it can be done. We actually played this Cell with New Mutants because we like a challenge.

In the first wave, your opponents are Professor X, Mephisto, Old Man Logan, Bishop, Jubilee, and Nightcrawler. Your primary focus should be Professor Xavier. If you use New Mutants, they need to be strong enough to survive the opening attacks from Professor and Mephisto, who can inflict serious damage. If either Magik or Sunspot dies after those two attacks, you still have a chance to clear the Cell with the remaining four. However, if Warlock, Wolfsbane, or Cannonball are eliminated, your chances drop drastically—almost to zero—so you should either restart the mission or switch to Exalted X-Men.

As mentioned, Professor X is your main target. You can’t let him take a second turn and use his Ultimate—you must eliminate him before that happens. Don’t save any abilities, and keep him as your focus at all times. After taking him down, Mephisto and Old Man Logan become your next two primary targets.

In the second wave, Lilandra, Jean Grey, Wolverine, and Cyclops appear. The fight becomes a bit easier here—try to take out Jean and Lilandra first, then deal with the other two. However, be careful: the enemies still have weapons that can knock you out of the fight, especially if you’ve already used up most of your abilities and your Health is low after the first wave.

To sum up, this Cell is made for Exalted X-Men, and it’s much easier to complete with them. But a maxed-out New Mutants team can also get the job done—albeit in a much tougher way but it’s possible.

Conclusion

As we’ve mentioned several times throughout this walkthrough, the first six Cells are very easy if you have well-built Cosmic Crucible teams. This means that the first half of the event is quite straightforward. What awaits us in Cells 7-12 remains to be seen in the second week of the event.

This Tower is essentially divided into two parts: during the first week, the first 6 Cells are available, and in the second week, the remaining 6 Cells become accessible. Crucible rules are active, so it’s very important to have strong, currently Cosmic Crucible META teams if you want to complete the Mighty Tower: Storm.

One key thing to note is that all 6 teams you used during the first week for Cells 1 to 6 can be used again—in the same order—for Cells 7 to 12. The only exception is that for the final Cell (12), using Exalted X-Men is a much better option than the New Mutant team. However, a strong New Mutant team can also successfully complete Cell 12.
