Death Saga guide

Introduction

Death Saga is here with new challenges for the MSF players. We need to pull our maximum to overcome it. I am just kidding – it is easy, like almost everything we got from Scopely in the relatively near past. It may be fine for some people, but for me and others like me (who love more challenges when facing some obstacles in the games), it could and should be at least a bit extra challenging.

It is how it is, and we will provide you with all the necessary information about Death Saga.

This time everything was ok from the beginning (no enemies from previous Sagas), and we could focus on the missions ahead. Our Death Seed team was at 700K power and finished everything without problems. They are level 80, T15, with crucial abilities at max.

Let’s talk about rewards; when you complete Heroic difficulty, you will unlock Archangel’s awakened abilities:

Angel of Death – Ultimate level 8:

  • Energy Cost: 3/3
  • Transfer all positive effects, excluding Taunt and Regeneration, from primary target to self + flip 3 random positive effects to negative effects.
  • Attack primary target for 700% Piercing.
  • In Raids, on Kill, prolong the duration of all positive effects on self and all Death Seed allies by +1, up to a maximum of 2.
  • In Arena, on Kill, prolong the duration of all positive effects on self, Apocalypse, and all Horseman allies by +1, up to a maximum of 2.
  • This attack cannot be counterattacked.
  • If Apocalypse is an ally, or with 2 or more Horseman allies, this attack cannot be blocked.

Fallen Angel – Passive level 6:

  • On Kill, generate 1 Ability Energy for self and all Death Seed, Apocalypse, and Horseman allies.
  • On enemy Death:
  • > Attack the most injured enemy for 200% Piercing, ignoring Taunt and Stealth.
  • > Reduce Speed Bar for all enemies by 10%. In Raids, reduce Speed Bar for all enemies by 25% instead.
  • > In RAIDS, Barrier self for 10% of this character’s Max Health.
  • On this character or Death Seed ally Crit, heal self and all Death Seed allies for 3% of this character’s Max Health.
  • On this character, Apocalypse or Horseman ally Crit, heal self, Apocalypse, and all Horseman allies for 3% of this character’s Max Health.
  • Gain +30% Armor. Death Seed, Apocalypse, and Horseman allies gain +30% Armor.
  • Gain +15%, Crit Chance. Death Seed, Apocalypse, and Horseman allies gain +15%, Crit Chance.

Those abilities will additionally boost the Apocalypse Horseman team. Even right now, when we do not have Apocalypse available in the game, abilities synergize with other Horsemans.

Archangel will passively increase Armor and Crit Chance to the Horseman team. He will heal them wherever someone is Crit (everything identical to the Death Seed team). Additionally, Archangel’s Ultimate cannot be blocked if he is with at least two other Horseman or Apocalypse. Those are his improvements from awakened abilities. Now we will explain the nodes.

I want to say that I didn’t use the most common Iso-8 combination with Dark Beast as Skirmisher and every other team member Striker, but I didn’t need to. It would be easier, but it’s not necessary. As you can see, it’s possible to do it without that.

Heroic difficulty nodes:

Node 1

  • Nemesis – Raider
  • Psylocke – Striker
  • Magneto – Raider
  • Dark Beast – Skirmisher
  • Archangel – Raider

The first node is the easiest one. You will face a lot of Wakandan and Bionic Avengers, so start the combat with Ultimate from Magneto, gather them, and they will all be in the range of your primary-adjacent abilities. Focus on Shuri and Viv Vision – when four of the first weave enemies are down, another weave of enemies will spawn.

Use Psylock Special to get rid of the Ebony Maw Immunity, and after you do that, constantly focus on the enemies with the lowest HP. Thanks to the Archangel Passive, wherever you kill someone, the Speed Bar of the remaining enemies will lower by 10%. That means if you play right, most of them will not have a chance to play at all. With Slow from Nemesis Ultimate, it would be a miracle if they manage to do anything.

And that’s it – a piece of cake.

Node 2

  • Dark Beast – Skirmisher

The second node is a bit trickier than the first, but nothing special. Your opponents will be Infinity Watch members, S.H.I.E.L.D. Minions, Kingpin, Kestrel, Star-Lord (T’Chala), Dagger, and Baron Zemo. Nothing too hard for Death Seed.

You will start with Magneto Ultimate, and I prefer to focus on T’Chala first. So, he can go down as soon as possible and decrease the Speed of others. S.H.I.E.L.D. Securities will passively Taunt wherever someone’s Health drops under 50% – no problem for you. Their Health is low, and they will die fast (more Speed manipulation for you).

Adam Warlock, Phyla Veill, and Mondragon will have Immunity + Safeguard buff combo, so you won’t be able to debuff them. Again, no problem for the mighty Death Seed team! They will barely play because of Speed manipulation.

When the Second weave of enemies comes, we will apply the same rule as on the first mission. Kill the ones with less Health (reduce the Speed of others). Focus on Zemo – he is squishy. Use Ultimate with Nemesis for Slow on all enemies, and watch them die!

Kill order is not much important. More vital is monitoring enemies’ Speed Bars and focusing on the ones with the highest. All in all – another simple node.

Node 3

  • Magneto – Raider
  • Dark Beast – Skirmisher
  • Archangel – Raider

Node three is the trickiest one. You will face Spider Weaver, two Hella + Iron Man Zombies (the most dangerous enemies). You need to be careful and plan your moves, so you will not face situations when the fight finishes and you do not have time to Resurrect your dying team member. Someone from your team will go down (probably) because of bleeds and Iron Man Zombie Mind Control characters who take Damage from Bleed. If that happens to Dark Beast, exit the node and start again. You will need him to revive the failing member.

Do not start the combat with Magneto Ultimate. Start with his Special on Spider Weaver to slow her down. Try to get rid of her as soon as possible, and after her, put your focus on Hela.

When new enemies come, focus on the “new” Hela. Always keep Dark Beast Special ready in case someone dies. Spider-Man (Noir) will occasionally bleed someone from your team. In that case, the situation can become tricky. Loki can do Mind Control. Your Death Seed members can kill each other (more dangerous if they have Offense Up). Because of that, plan your next move, and be sure Dark Beast has time to play before the fight ends.

Death Seed team is a powerhouse on those kinds of Events. They can deal with numerous enemies without problems, they can manipulate Speed on the battlefield, and even if something goes wrong, they have some tricks to pull off (Revive or get rid of debuffs).

Node 4

  • Nemesis – Raider
  • Psylocke – Striker
  • Magneto – Raider
  • Dark Beast – Skirmisher
  • Archangel – Raider

Darkhold members, Doctor Strange, Eternals, three Psylocke, Brotherhood members, and Multiple Man are enemies in this node. Nothing about it is difficult, but remember bits of advice from the previous one, so save Dark Beast Special if you need it for Revive.

At the beginning of the encounter, focus on Agatha, Heartless, and Strange, and open a fight with Magneto Ultimate to gather opponents. After you knock out three of the initial enemies, others will come.

Now switch your focus to Icaris, it is good to get rid of him before Sersi arrives, but even if you do not do that, it is not the end of the world. Multiple Man clones will do your big favor in this fight. Wherever one dies, the Speed of other enemies will go down.

The last wave of enemies is easy. Work toward the end by killing the ones with the lowest Health – manipulate the Speed. Ability Block Sersi, and you will win this node.

  • Magneto – Raider
  • Dark Beast – Skirmisher
  • Archangel – Raider

The final node of Heroic Saga should be the hardest one – but it is not the case. You will face Gamma, Unlimited X-Men, and Astonishing X-Men members. And finally, Horseman members: Morgan Le Fay, Rogue, and Red Hulk.

The fight will start with Gamma and Astonishing X-Men members as your opponents. I suggest focusing on Jubile first. Until she is out of combat, a few other enemies will be at low Health.

After you kill three of them, Unlimited X-Men will join the combat. The last wave of enemies will not come until you clear everything. So, take it easy, and play smart. Eliminate She-Hulk before she collects enough Charges, so she can’t return debuffs. A Beast can remove negativities from opponents. I suggest getting rid of him as soon as possible. Archangel Speed manipulation won’t allow enemies to play. You can kill them one by one.

Finally, Horsemans will come (after you clear all other enemies, as I already mentioned). Until that, you should have Magneto Ultimate ready to bring them close to each other. Then you can do whatever you want to them. MLF will fill her Speed Bar first, so she should go down first. Red Hulk after her and saves Rogue for the end.

Conclusion

Death Seed team is a powerhouse on those kinds of Events. They can deal with numerous enemies without problems, they can manipulate Speed on the battlefield, and even if something goes wrong, they have some tricks to pull off (Revive or get rid of debuffs).

Death Saga is not complicated partly because the Death Seed team has enormous strengths in particular game modes and in part because developers didn’t put more tricky enemy combinations in the Saga’s nodes.

Complete the Saga, collect Archangel’s awakened abilities, and prepare for the Apocalypse Saga challenges!
