Invasion Event Blastaar
Intro
Unlocking Blastaar for all active players involves completing different tasks available daily, weekly, and monthly in the Command Center. Additionally, Red Stars for Blastaar (and additional Character Shards) can be obtained through participation in the Invasion Event.
Blastaar is the second Legendary character of the Age Of Annihilus, and his Red Star unlock method is through the updated version of Trials, similar to how it was with Shadow King, Old Man Logan, Green Goblin (Classic), Nova, and Black Cat. All Trials are modified Scourge Events, so their structure should be familiar to everyone.
The Modes (Pacts in Trials and Scourges in Horsemen’s Events) can alter the flow of battles either to your benefit or detriment. All Modes have point modifiers that depend on the difficulty of the Mode, and by having more Modes active, you can increase your final Run Score.
The core of the Event is the same, with some changes. On Invasion Event: Blastaar we have 10 Difficulties for all ranges of player progression. All players who are level 50+ can participate in Invasion Event: Blastaar. You can quit each node and try again until you reach the desired result.
The Invasion Event: Blastaar will take place monthly during Chapter 2, starting in September. Players will face various challenges to earn Red Stars for Blastaar. The event began with 10 missions in September. In future iterations of the Invasion Event, some missions will be replaced with new ones.
Unlocking Yellow and Red Stars
Red Stars for Blastaar can be earned by achieving specific Run Scores that align with key Milestones. To obtain these, you’ll need to attempt runs at higher difficulties. Selecting a Difficulty Level from 1-10 allows you to customize your runs, with higher difficulties imposing stricter character trait requirements but offering greater rewards. Additional points can be earned by activating Mods, which may either aid or challenge both Commander characters and enemies. If you’ve already unlocked Blastaar, he can be used on every Mission node to provide significant firepower.
All players who complete every Milestone will collect 7 Red Stars for Blastaar. This shouldn’t be a problem for most players, as you can achieve this score by playing on Difficulty 10 with almost all Mods turned off, leaving only: Tactical Enhancement: Control, When It Rains, Warp World, Vile Rally, World at War, True Silence, Storm Warning, Cosmic Surge, Biotic Factor, and Reserve Power. Then, simply complete the first four missions.
This will earn you enough points for all the Milestones—and therefore 7 Red Stars for Blastaar. For the first two missions, use the Vigilante team, and for the third and fourth missions, use Hellfire Club plus Quasar. As you can see, all the most annoying Mods are disabled, making these missions much easier to complete.

We can see that certain standard Modes are quite helpful, enabling Blastar and Quasar to gain Fantastic Four (MCU) and Hellfire Club traits, so make sure to always activate them. Additionally, Blastar will have specific boosts that enhance his mitigation and offensive power. These modes will consistently be available, even in future iterations of the Invasion Event Blastar.
There are specific Mods tied to Raid, War, and Cosmic Crucible game modes. These Mods activate bonuses for characters that are relevant to these game modes. Overall, these bonuses tend to be more beneficial than detrimental, aiding players in their progress and strategy.
Several modes can either assist or hinder, such as Biotic Factor, Cosmic Surge, True Silence, Reserve Power, and Warp World. However, our general advice is to activate these modes, as they tend to be more beneficial overall than detrimental.
The previously mentioned Mods were related to our characters or both our characters and enemy characters. However, the Mods we are about to list apply exclusively to opponents, and they will always make battles more challenging for us. So, if you’re having trouble completing this Invasion Event on certain Difficulty Levels, we recommend disabling some of these mods: Tactical Enhancement: Control, Tactical Enhancement: Damage, Tactical Enhancement: Tank, Vile Rally, When It Rains, and Experimental Serum III. These Mods only affect opponents and significantly increase the difficulty of the run.
Invasion Event Blastaar: Walkthrough and Video
You can view our Walkthrough of this Invasion Event on YouTube. Below you can also find descriptions of strategies used to defeat each node.
To clarify, if all Modes are activated, the Invasion Event becomes extremely challenging. Certain nodes are brutally difficult, requiring either perfect RNG alignment or flawless execution, as even the smallest mistake can lead to failure. Therefore, if you’re not aiming for a top rank on the Leaderboard, it’s recommended to deactivate all Modes that buff your opponents. These include: Tactical Enhancement: Control, Tactical Enhancement: Damage, Tactical Enhancement: Tank, Vile Rally, When It Rains, and Experimental Serum III.
Recommendations
To simplify things, we will provide node breakdowns for Difficulties 5 and above, since those are the difficulties you should aim for to get Red Stars.
Mission 1 (No Restrictions)
Suggested team: Your Strongest Characters / Vigilante
Walkthrough:
These two missions can also be completed using the Fantastic Four (MCU) characters along with Blastaar and Quasar, but they are significantly easier if you utilize the most powerful characters at your disposal, such as Professor Xavier, Mephisto, Odin, or Knull. We won’t spend too much time discussing them.
The Vigilante team is also perfect for the first two Missions, and they will honestly breeze through them. If you have them upgraded (which you should), make sure to use them. Take full advantage of their strength for an easy start in these stages.

Mission 3 (Fantastic Four (MCU), Hellfire Club, Quasar, or Blastaar)
Suggested team: Blastaar, Mister Fantastic (MCU), Invisible Woman (MCU), Franklin Richards, Quasar
Walkthrough:
This mission is extremely challenging, especially when all Modes are activated. We’ve set Invisible Woman (MCU) and Franklin as a Raiders, Quasar and Blastaar as Strikers, and Mr. Fantastic (MCU) is designated as a Fortifier. At the start of the battle with Franklin, use Basic to remove Taunt from Juggernaut (Zombie). Then, with Quasar, use Ultimate, target Hellverine and apply Ability Block. Use Invisible Woman’s (MCU) Ultimate ability to group the opponents together. This will make it easier to control the battle and maximize the effectiveness of your team’s attacks.
Now comes the critical part of the fight. Your Mr. Fantastic (MCU) must be strong enough to withstand Specials from The Hood, Scarlet Witch, and Juggernaut (Zombie), along with Basic from Hellverine. Four Deathproofs will help him immensely. After surviving, use his Special, followed by Franklin’s Ultimate. At this point, both Juggernaut Zombies should be defeated—the original one and the one summoned by Scarlet Witch (Zombie). Use Quasar’s Special and Invisible Woman (MCU)’s Special on the grouped enemies, focusing on Scarlet Witch (Zombie) as your primary target.
When Blastaar’s turn comes, he should have 5 Bomb Bursts, and you should use his Ultimate to clear almost every oponent. By this time, the second wave of enemies will have arrived. Be cautious of Hela’s Minions—they’re easy to kill, but eliminating one causes the remaining enemies to clear all debuffs from themselves. Focus on eliminating The Hood and Hellverine (if he is allive) as quickly as possible, followed by Hela.
After you eliminate Hela, more enemies will arrive: Satana, Juggernaut (Zombie), and Man-Thing. At this stage, you should use only Basic attacks with your characters to quickly recharge Blastaar’s Bomb Bursts. As soon as you have all 5 charged, use Blastaar’s Ultimate again—this should take out both Iron Man (Zombie) enemies who remained from earlier.
After that, a new Iron Man (Zombie) will appear together with The Hood. It’s important to use Invisible Woman’s (MCU) Ultimate to gather all enemies together. If Quasar’s Special is ready, you can use it at this point; with the other characters, stick to Basic attacks to charge up Blastaar’s Bomb Bursts as quickly as possible. The main goal is to fill all 5 Bomb Bursts for Blastaar so he can use his Ultimate again (as you most likely already noticed). It’s crucial to eliminate Iron Man (Zombie) because once the first of the current enemies is defeated, Hela and Juggernaut (Zombie) will arrive.
With Mr. Fantastic (MCU), you should use his Ultimate, as this will grant him Charged, significantly boost both his and the whole team’s mitigation, and also heal him. When Quasar’s Ultimate is ready, use it as well to apply Ability Block and Trauma to as many enemies as possible. With Blastaar, use his Ultimate as soon as he reaches 5 Charged. You shouldn’t have any trouble finishing the fight. Near the very end, switch to Basic attacks to refill Ability Energy for the next mission.
Mission 4 (Fantastic Four (MCU), Hellfire Club, Quasar, or Blastaar)
Suggested team: Blastaar, Mr. Fantastic (MCU), Invisible Woman (MCU), Franklin Richards, Quasar
Walkthrough:
The most important thing in this mission is to make sure that Blastaar survives until the end. All other characters can be defeated, as you won’t need them after this mission, but Blastaar is essential for the rest of the Invasion Event. It is crucial to eliminate Phoenix as quickly as possible so that you can apply Safeguard to your team. Start by using Franklin’s Special ability and target Phoenix. This way, you’ll copy all positive effects from Phoenix and adjacent enemies to your entire team, so all your characters will gain 3 Offense Up, 3 Defense Up, and Deathproof. This is crucial for the very start of the fight. With Blastaar, use Special and target Ares—this should eliminate Phoenix. However, she will summon Dark Phoenix next. Then, with Quasar, who acts immediately after, use Ultimate, also targeting Ares. This will take out Dark Phoenix, effectively breaking up the Phoenix Force duo.
Enemies will now be hiding behind Ares’s Taunt. So we need to target Ares next. Use Invisible Woman’s (MCU) Ultimate ability to gather them up. We still don’t have 5 Bomb Bursts with Blastaar, so we’ll use his Special instead. Before that, Ares and a few other enemies will take their turns, causing Ares to lose Safeguard. When you use Blastaar’s Special, it should drop Ares’s HP below 50%, which will flip his Taunt. Next, you can use Quasar’s Special on Omega Red (Phoenix Force) to deal significant damage. After that, the goal is to charge up Blastaar’s 5 Bomb Bursts as quickly as possible, so use Basic attacks with Invisible Woman (MCU) and Franklin. The previous enemy attacks—especially those from Omega Red and Ares—can easily take out one of your characters, but as long as Blastaar, Quasar, and at least one more F4 (MCU) character are still alive, you’ll be fine.
It’s important to eliminate Omega Red (Phoenix Force) as quickly as possible. If you manage to take out any other enemies in the process, even better. The next wave of opponents isn’t as tough, but make sure to focus on defeating Gambit (who is there from the beginning) quickly because of his annoying pings. When the new Gambit arrives, make sure to take him out as quickly as possible. Also, keep using Basic attacks to charge up Blastaar’s Bomb Bursts, and when he has all 5, use his Ultimate, and repeat that process as often as you can.
The final wave of enemies will appear, including a new Ares. Control Forge by applying Ability Block—either with Blastaar’s Special, Quasar’s Ultimate, or Invisible Woman (MCU)’s Special. After that, focus on defeating him as quickly as possible. The enemies are grouped close together, which makes this a great for our AoE attacks. For example, Quasar can apply Ability Block and Trauma to all of them with his Ultimate. Once you defeat Forge, the rest of the fight should be easy.
After completing this mission, you will no longer be able to use Fantastic Four (MCU) characters or Quasar, so there’s no need to save abilities for the next mission.
Mission 5 (Hellfire Club, Insidious 6, Sinister 6, or Blastaar)
Suggested team: Blastaar, Superior Spider-Man, Green Goblin (Classic), Vulture, Mysterio
Walkthrough:
This is probably the trickiest mission in the Invasion Event Blastaar. With all Mods enabled, even the smallest misplay can have catastrophic consequences, so you need to be very careful with your moves. For Iso-8, we gave Blastaar the Striker class, Vulture and Mysterio the Skirmisher class, Superior Spider-Man the Healer class, and Green Goblin (Classic) the Raider class. This is the best Iso-8 setup for this mission.
At the very start, use Vulture’s Basic attack—you have to target Mr. Fantastic (MCU) because he has Taunt. This will trigger a counterattack from Invisible Woman, but she’ll only deal minor damage to Vulture. That’s exactly what you want, since Vulture becomes your character with the lowest percentage HP, which means all passive attacks from Omega Sentinel will be directed at him. Vulture needs to be strong enough to withstand several of her hits without dropping below 50% health.
With all your other characters, stick to Basic attacks, and make sure you never heal Vulture. If you do, Omega Sentinel’s passive will start targeting Mysterio’s Illusions instead, and she’ll quickly destroy them—which you don’t want, because you’ll need those Illusions later to absorb some of the more dangerous enemy attacks and protect the rest of your team.
When it’s Green Goblin’s (Classic) turn, use his Ultimate. This will flip the opponents’ positive effects and, even more importantly, apply Heal Block and Trauma to most of them. After that, use Blastaar’s Special (this should be his second move, after using Basic first) and target Omega Sentinel. This will apply the Ability Block to Omega Sentinel, Shadow King, Invisible Woman, and possibly Emma Frost (X-Men). If you manage to apply Ability Block to Emma, that’s great—if not, it’s not a big deal.
Shadow King will have to use his Basic attack, and ideally, he should hit one of Mysterio’s Illusions, Blastaar, or Vulture (if your Vulture is strong enough). If that doesn’t happen, restart the mission. However, since there are five possible targets that are acceptable for Shadow King’s attack, the odds are pretty good that it will work out in your favor.
After Shadow King takes his turn, if he targeted one of Mysterio’s Illusions, he will have defeated it, and Vulture will have passively gained Speed Bar—so Vulture is next to play. Use Vulture’s Ultimate at this point, because after Shadow King’s attack, Astral enemies are now vulnerable to Speed Bar manipulation. This means you can reduce the Speed Bar of both Shadow King and Emma Frost (X-Men), preventing Emma from taking her turn right away, which is exactly what you want.
With Mysterio, use his Special and target Mr. Fantastic (MCU). It’s very important to apply the Ability Block to him. Emma Frost (X-Men), who is standing next to him, will also get Ability Block, and all enemies will receive Blind. This will protect you, at least for now, from Omega Sentinel’s dangerous passive damage.
When it’s Blastaar’s turn, it’s finally time to use his Ultimate. He should already have 5 Bomb Bursts, so this attack will deal massive damage to all enemies and eliminate Invisible Woman and Human Torch. Omega Sentinel’s health will drop dangerously low, but avoid finishing her off for now, since she can Revive. You’ll want to deal with her later using Blastaar’s Ultimate.
Next, Sentinel will appear as an enemy. Immediately attack him with Green Goblin (Classic) using his Basic attack. This will give Blastaar at least one more Bomb Burst, possibly two—so he’ll have 2 or 3 (since he already gained one from his Striker Iso-8 attack after using Ultimate). That’s enough for Blastaar to use his Ultimate again and finish off Omega Sentinel. Enemies defeated by Blastaar’s Ultimate cannot be revived.
After that, Ancient One joins as an enemy. She is particularly dangerous because you can’t reduce her Speed Bar if you’re playing with all Mods enabled.
This is a very delicate part of the battle where you need to carefully manage the enemies’ Speed Bars—preventing them from taking turns—while also using Basic attacks as much as possible to quickly recharge Blastaar’s 5 Bomb Bursts. There’s no single strategy here, as it depends on the situation, but if possible, try to apply debuffs like Offense Down, Ability Block, or Blind to Ancient One before her turn. For the other enemies, you can reduce their Speed Bar with Vulture’s Ultimate, Green Goblin (Classic)’s Special or Ultimate, and Blastaar’s Ultimate (if you have the Awakened Ultimate).
Warp World mode can help a lot here—if Ancient One manages to use her Special and drops some of your characters below 50% HP, you can quickly recover by bringing any enemy below 50% HP as well. The key is to survive Ancient One’s attack—either by applying Ability Block and Blind to her, or Offense Down so she can’t deal as much damage—and then focus on eliminating both Shadow King and Ancient One as soon as possible.
A general rule for all missions is to use Basic attacks frequently with your other characters so that Blastaar can take his turns more often and recharge his 5 Bomb Bursts as quickly as possible.
Franklin Richards will appear as a new enemy shortly afterwards, and you need to pay close attention to him—if you let him take a turn, you’re in trouble. The same goes for Invisible Woman (MCU), who will show up a bit later on the enemy side. To make things even harder, Nimrod will also appear, and he has unavoidable attacks that are very dangerous.
If you have the “Tactical Enhancement: Tank” mode enabled, avoid attacking Emma Frost (X-Men) unless you can control her, since she is a Support and will passively heal the entire enemy team significantly whenever she’s hit.
At the very end, another Sentinel and another Emma Frost (X-Men) will join the battle. It’s up to you to control the situation—don’t let dangerous enemies take their turns, and make sure Blastaar has 5 Bomb Bursts and uses his Ultimate as often as possible. With these five characters, you have more than enough tools to accomplish this, but be aware that it’s extremely difficult if you have all the Mods turned on. You can also watch the video at the top of the walkthrough section of this page to see exactly how we did it.
Mission 6 (Hellfire Club, Insidious 6, Sinister 6, or Blastaar)
Suggested team: Blastaar, Superior Spider-Man, Hobgoblin, Vulture, Shocker
Walkthrough:
For this mission, it’s very important to bring Shocker to provide Offense Up and Hobgoblin to apply Heal Block to the enemies. At the very start, use Vulture to target Gambit and use his Special, Blastaar should use Basic, and Superior Spider-Man should use his Special. All attacks should focus on Gambit for now.
After that, switch your primary target to Apocalypse. Use Hobgoblin’s Ultimate and Shocker’s Basic. At this point, Blastaar should have 5 Bomb Bursts, so use his Ultimate—Apocalypse should remain your main target. Most enemies will have Heal Block and Defense Down, which means the enemy Support (Forge) won’t be able to heal them passively. With 5 Bomb Bursts and Offense Up, Blastaar’s Ultimate will do massive damage. Only Apocalypse and Rogue will survive, because they had Safeguard and Immunity, so Defense Down couldn’t be applied to them—but even they will have very little HP left.
Now, just keep using Basic attacks with everyone until Apocalypse is eliminated—it’s crucial to finish him off as soon as possible. The only exception is Superior Spider-Man: you can use his Ultimate to give your whole team Safeguard. Ideally, you want to eliminate both Apocalypse and Rogue at the same time. You can do this with Blastaar’s Special when they are both low on health.
When the second wave of enemies arrives, it’s important to remove Speed Up from Nightcrawler and apply Offense Down to Havok as soon as possible. It’s also helpful to apply Slow, Offense Down, and Defense Down to the other enemies—Hobgoblin is perfect for this—but Nightcrawler and Havok are your top priorities.
Don’t use Blastaar’s Ultimate even if he has 5 Bomb Bursts and doesn’t have Offense Up. Instead, wait for Shocker to use his Special, which will give Offense Up to Blastaar and the entire team, then unleash Blastaar’s Ultimate. If Blastaar gets a turn before Shocker (which he likely will), use his Special to apply Ability Block to several enemies if he does not have Offense Up. If he has Offense Up – use his Ultimate.
It’s crucial that you’ve already used Superior Spider-Man’s Ultimate to provide Safeguard to the entire team for two turns. This prevents “Warp World” from flipping your buffs into debuffs if any of your characters drop below 50% health.
Also, if the character you’re playing has low health, avoid attacking any X-Men enemies. If you do, Havok’s passive retaliation could easily totally destroy your character. Instead, target Red Hulk, Abomination, or Medusa.
Once you know what to do, this mission becomes easier and doesn’t rely too much on RNG.
Mission 7 (Insidious 6, Sinister 6, or Blastaar)
Suggested team: Blastaar, Superior Spider-Man, Hobgoblin, Vulture, Shocker
Walkthrough:
Mission 7 is, in our opinion, the easiest mission of this Invasion Event—aside from the first two. The enemies aren’t very fast, and they’re easy to control. The only tricky part is Dormammu and his Revive, but not everything can be perfect. Try to eliminate Dormammu as quickly as possible, and besides him, focus on Morgan Le Fay and Gorr. Of course, whenever possible, use Basic attacks with your characters so Blastaar can quickly build up 5 Bomb Bursts and crush the enemies with his Ultimate.
After you eliminate most of the enemies from the first wave, more will arrive, but they won’t pose any real threat. With Dormammu gone, Revive is no longer a concern for the remaining enemies. Near the end, Lilandra and Hyperion will appear, followed by Thanos (Endgame), but they won’t be able to do much against you. Just make sure not to let the enemies take their turns—or, if they do, have them debuffed so they can’t deal significant damage. Compared to the previous missions, this one is a walk in the park.
Mission 8 (Insidious 6, Sinister 6, or Blastaar)
Suggested team: Blastaar, Superior Spider-Man, Hobgoblin, Green Goblin (Classic), Vulture
Walkthrough:
It’s crucial to bring Green Goblin (Classic) into Mission 10, giving your team two Superior Six characters. This means Vulture will passively provide Drain, allowing your characters to heal based on the damage they deal. Even more importantly, at the beginning of the battle, he’ll remove Speed Up from enemies and grant Speed Up to your team.
Vulture acts first—use his Special, targeting Void Knight (since he has Taunt). Next, Green Goblin (Classic) should target Knull and use his Ultimate. You can’t reduce Knull’s Speed Bar, but that’s just something you have to accept. With Hobgoblin, use Basic attacks, keeping Knull as your primary target. With Blastaar, use Special to apply Ability Block to Knull and several other enemies.
After that, Knull will take his turn but will only be able to use his Basic. Blastaar should now have 5 Bomb Bursts and will play immediately after Knull, since Bomb Bursts passively increase his Speed Stat. Now is the time to use Blastaar’s Ultimate.
At this point, you’re in full control and can prepare for the next wave of enemies. First, ensure that you eliminate Knull as soon as possible. Second, charge Blastaar’s Bomb Bursts back up to 5 as quickly as you can. Save your key abilities for the next wave—these enemies are easy to finish off since they have both Slow and Ability Block, so they pose little threat.
Use Basic attacks with all characters except Superior Spider-Man; with him, you can use his Special or Ultimate once to provide Safeguard to the team. With Blastaar, you can use Special if you need to hit multiple enemies, but don’t use Ultimate yet.
When you eliminate the last enemy from the first wave, the second wave arrives with Mephisto, Spider-Man (Pavitr), Falcon (Joaquin), Peter B. Parker, and Gwenom. Now is the time to use Blastaar’s Ultimate—if you time it right, he’ll go before Mephisto. This will strip positive effects from all enemies except the two Spider-Society characters, since they have Deflects and will block the attack. However, Blastaar’s attack will drop Gwenom below 50% health, which will cause “Warp World” to flip all positive effects on the Spider-Society characters into negatives.
Afterward, Mephisto will use his Empowered Ultimate to buff his team. At this point, use Basic attacks with all your characters to quickly recharge Blastaar’s 5 Bomb Bursts. Use Hobgoblin’s Ultimate to apply Heal Block to the enemies. When Blastaar’s turn comes around again and he has 5 Bomb Bursts, use his Ultimate once more. This will remove all effects Mephisto has applied to the enemies.
Keep using Basic attacks with your characters to refill Blastaar’s Bomb Burst stacks as quickly as possible. With Blastaar, use Special on Pavitr, since he’s extremely dangerous if allowed to use his abilities. By applying Ability Block with Blastaar, you’ll limit Pavitr to only Basic attacks. Whenever Blastaar doesn’t have 5 Bomb Bursts, use his Special to apply Ability Block to any other dangerous enemies.
Eliminate Pavitr first, then focus on Mephisto. Blastaar will quickly build up his Speed Stat and Speed Bar, allowing him to use his Ultimate again to finish off Mephisto and the rest of the enemies. Falcon (Joaquin) might survive, but he won’t pose much of a threat.
At the very end, Void Knight and Red Goblin will appear, and this can be dangerous if Knull was the first character you eliminated in this mission, because if you let Red Goblin take his turn, he will passively revive the first fallen Symbiote ally. This means you must not allow Red Goblin to play.
You can easily remove Taunt from Void Knight, then put your full focus on Red Goblin. You shouldn’t have any trouble eliminating Red Goblin first, then Void Knight, which will successfully complete this mission and the entire Invasion Event Blastaar.
Mission 9 (Insidious 6, Sinister 6, Brimstone, or Blastaar)
Suggested team:
Walkthrough:
At the very start, use Vulture’s Special on Sebastian Shaw. Then, with Blastaar, use Special on Pandapool. With Superior Spider-Man, also use Special—target Old Man Logan. With Hobgoblin, use Ultimate to apply Trauma to most enemies and Heal Block to all of them, so the enemy Support characters won’t be able to passively heal their team when you attack them.
Blastaar should get another turn quickly. Target an enemy with Vulnerable and use his Basic attack. These two attacks (Basic plus Striker Iso-8 attack) should bring Blastaar’s Bomb Bursts up to 5, especially since he likely assisted someone earlier and already generated 3 Bomb Bursts by this point. It goes without saying that Blastaar should be equipped with Striker.
Next, Shocker takes his turn—use his Special. Blastaar may assist here as well, so by now he should definitely have 5 Bomb Bursts (if he didn’t already). Blastaar will have filled his Speed Bar enough to take another turn, so now use his Ultimate. With 5 Bomb Bursts, Offense Up, and most enemies having Defense Down, Blastaar’s Ultimate will wipe out everyone except Satana, Hellverine, Rachel (who will be left at half HP), and Sebastian Shaw (who should be left with very little HP).
After this, your goal is to recharge Blastaar’s 5 Bomb Bursts as quickly as possible, so use Basic attacks with Shocker (who goes next), and then with Blastaar again on his following turn. If you previously targeted enemies with Vulnerable using Ultimate and Basic attacks, Blastaar should quickly have 5 Bomb Bursts again and can use his Ultimate once more. This will finish off Hellverine and Sebastian Shaw. Clean up Rachel and Satana with Basic attacks.
This approach ensures you maximize Blastaar’s effectiveness and keep the fight under control from the very beginning.
Next, Azazel, The Hood, and Mister Sinister will appear. With Blastaar at 5 Bomb Bursts, use his Ultimate right away. From this point, it becomes a classic strategy game: use Basic attacks with all your characters—including Blastaar—until Blastaar has 5 Bomb Bursts again. As soon as he does, unleash his Ultimate. Keep repeating this cycle.
Blastaar will gain a lot of Speed Bar, allowing him to act very frequently, while his Ultimate will also reduce the enemies’ Speed Bar, keeping them from taking turns. Focus on taking out Mister Sinister first; after that, more enemies will arrive. Continue using this strategy until the end of the mission. Prioritize eliminating The Hood and Hellverine next, then finish off any remaining enemies.
Overall, once you know what to do, this mission isn’t that difficult. By keeping Blastaar’s Bomb Bursts charged and controlling the enemy turns, you’ll maintain full control of the battle.
Mission 10 (Insidious 6, Sinister 6, Brimstone, or Blastaar)
Suggested team: Blastaar, Superior Spider-Man, Hobgoblin, Vulture, Shocker
Walkthrough:
To complete this mission, you’ll need to bring four Brimstone characters (excluding Elsa Bloodstone) and Blastaar. It’s important for Blastaar to be a Striker, Daimon Hellstrom to be a Striker as well, and Hellcat to be a Skirmisher.
At the start, all enemies have three stacks of Immunity. This means Daimon’s Ultimate is not useful right away, as they will still have at least one Immunity left, and you won’t be able to apply any negatives. You’ll need to adapt and use Warp World Mode to turn the situation to your advantage.
Begin by targeting the squishiest enemy—Shannon Carter—with Daimon’s Basic attack. This will trigger an Assist Now from Hellcat. Make sure Daimon’s chain attack does not hit Ms. Marvel (Classic), since she is a Support character and will heal the enemies if hit; if that happens, restart the fight. After Daimon attacks, Hellcat will assist, and Blastaar has a chance to assist as well, and will also deal passive damage since Daimon used Basic. Daimon will then do a Follow Up attack because Hellcat, as Skirmisher, applied Vulnerable to Shannon. All this damage should be enough to drop Shannon below 50% HP, activating Warp World Mode, and flipping all buffs on the enemies into debuffs.
Next, use Hellcat’s Ultimate targeting Quasar, and Blastaar’s Special targeting Falcon (Joaquin). Joaquin will take his turn but will only be able to use Basic, which triggers Hellcat’s passive to attack the enemy with the lowest HP—most likely Shannon Carter. This should drop Shannon below 25%, and probably finish her off, granting your characters extra Ability Energy. This allows Strange (Heartless) to use his Ultimate on his first turn—target the enemy with the most debuffs and hit hard.
You’ll almost certainly defeat some enemies, bringing in two more Patriots and Maria Hill. It’s still not time for Daimon’s Ultimate; instead, focus on quickly taking out Quasar by using Basic attacks on him. By now, Blastaar should have 5 Bomb Bursts, so unleash his Ultimate—this should finish off Quasar, making the rest of the mission much easier.
From here, stick to the tried-and-true strategy: use Basic attacks as much as possible to refill Blastaar’s 5 Bomb Bursts and use his Ultimate as soon as it’s ready. Repeat this cycle throughout the mission.
Any enemies that appear later on won’t stand a chance. Use Daimon, Strange (Heartless), and Hellcat’s Ultimates whenever available; otherwise, stick to Basic attacks.
The most difficult part of this mission is the very beginning. Once you get past that, everything becomes much easier.
It’s not necessary to have high-star levels on the new Brimstone characters—3 Yellow/Red stars are enough, as long as you have a strong Strange (Heartless) and Blastaar to carry the team through the mission.
Conclusion
To successfully navigate the Invasion Event: Blastaar, it’s essential to have a strong Conquerors characters and also Quasar and Blastaar. Ideally, aim for max-level characters and at least GT19. This will make the event significantly easier for you.
