Fear Tower

VIDEO ADVERTISEMENT

Intro

The S.T.R.I.K.E. Symbiotes are closing in on the next member of the Symbiote Six, and their search has led them deep into the ominous Fear Tower.

This challenging, multi-level event will push your best teams to their limits as you ascend each floor. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to recruit Quicksilver (Symbiote), collect his Red Stars and Diamonds, and crush anyone who dares to block your path.

Players who have invested in their War and Cosmic Crucible squads will find these teams especially valuable for overcoming some of the tougher battles on specific floors. Make sure you’re prepared, as only the strongest and most strategic will survive the nightmares lurking within Fear Tower.

Tower Rules

Symbiote Tower features three distinct towers, each offering a different level of challenge:

  • The standard Symbiote Tower is designed with less difficult enemies, making it ideal for newer players just starting their journey.
  • Symbiote Tower (Hard) steps up the difficulty, putting your skills to the test against tougher opponents.
  • Symbiote Tower (Omega) is the ultimate trial, where only your best squads and most experienced strategies will suffice.

Conquering the Omega Tower is the key to earning the most Quicksilver (Symbiote) shards, as it offers the greatest rewards for those able to overcome its intense battles. If you’re aiming to maximize your progress and unlock Quicksilver faster, take on the Omega difficulty and prove your strength!

Fear Tower is divided into 20 floors for each of its three towers, but only the first 10 floors will be available during the opening week. As the event continues, the other 10 floors will unlock next week, giving you ongoing challenges and fresh battles to look forward to.

Here’s how it works:

  • There are 3 separate towers, each with 20 floors.
  • Each week, 10 new floors are unlocked for every tower.
  • Some rooms will require teams with specific traits to enter.
  • You’ll send a squad of 5 characters into each battle.
  • Once you clear a room, the team you used goes on cooldown and can’t be used again until the next set of floors opens the following week.
  • The cooldown reset is synchronized for all players.
  • Enemy teams will always start with full Health and ability energy in every battle, so you won’t have to worry about damage carrying over.
  • Every room challenges you to carefully consider your roster choices, and each win will influence your strategy for the rest of the tower.

Strategic planning and smart team management are essential if you want to climb to the top!

Floors Requirements

floor requirements fro fear tower update

As you progress through Fear Tower, you’ll notice that the first four floors during both the first and second week don’t have any team requirements—so you can use any characters you like. However, later floors will start to require specific traits that match certain War and Cosmic Crucible teams, such as Shadow Conclave, Omen, Phoenix Force, New Mutant, and Exalted X-Men.

On these floors, War and Crucible rules will also be in effect, adding another layer of strategy and challenge. The same pattern continues in the second week, with early floors being open to all teams, and later floors needing particular squads and following special rules.

This setup encourages you to build up and strengthen those themed teams, as they’ll be crucial for advancing through the tougher stages of the event. Smart preparation and roster planning will be key to mastering the higher floors and reaching new rewards.

Rewards

Climbing the Tower Milestones will earn you Tower Commendations, which in turn help you make progress toward weekly Commander Center Objectives and the special Rise of the Hive Milestone.

By completing the Guard Shark Milestone, you can look forward to rewards like:

  • Quicksilver (Symbiote) character shards
  • Quicksilver (Symbiote) Red Stars (up to 7 Red Stars for him)
  • 1 Diamond for Quicksilver (Symbiote)

Those who manage to complete the entire Fear Tower and reach all 30 Milestones will earn 415 Quicksilver (Symbiote) character shards. This is enough to take him up to 5 Yellow Stars, with an additional 105/200 progress towards his sixth Yellow Star. They will also earn 7 Red Stars and 1 Diamond for Quicksilver (Symbiote).

So after the first run, we’ll need to wait for the second iteration of Fear Tower to fully max him out at 1 Diamond. All of this, of course, applies only if you’re playing on the Omega difficulty level.

Players who complete the entire Fear Tower on the normal difficulty level will collect 50 character shards for Quicksilver (Symbiote), which is enough for 2 Yellow Stars.

Those who play on Hard difficulty and finish the whole Fear Tower can expect to earn 150 character shards for Quicksilver (Symbiote) and 3 Red Stars, allowing them to have him at 3 Yellow and 3 Red Stars.

Video Guide

If you’re more of a visual learner, we have a handy Video Guide where you can see step-by-step how to handle each of the Cells.

Coming soon

Floor 1: No Restrictions

Suggested team: Thunderbolt

In this Cell, you’ll be facing the Avengers, so the Thunderbolt team should be more than enough to secure the win. For the first four Cells, where there are no special requirements, you can use your four main Raid teams. Most players have these teams well built up, so this part should be straightforward.

There’s nothing particularly special about the first Cell. Black Widow will act first and apply Speed Up to all enemy characters, but your Songbird can immediately flip those buffs with her Ultimate. Focus on their fastest characters—Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Hulk. Since there’s only one wave of enemies, there’s no need to save your abilities—feel free to use everything right away.

Floor 2: No Restrictions

Suggested team: Vigilante

In Cell 2, you’ll use the Vigilante team. Start the fight with Silver Sable’s Ultimate to strip all buffs from the enemies. Then, use Hit-Monkey’s Ultimate on Peggy Carter to stun her. After that, focus your attacks on the two protectors, Black Knight and Captain America (Sam), before taking out the rest of the team.

When only three enemies remain, switch to Basic attacks and save your abilities for the next wave. In the second wave, the Knowhere team will appear—use all your abilities here. Focus first on Thor (Infinity War) and Star-Lord (Annihilation) until Nova takes his first turn; after that, switch all your focus to Nova.

This Cell shouldn’t pose much of a challenge for a well-built Vigilante team.

Floor 3: No Restrictions

Suggested team: Immortal Weapon

For Cell 3, you’ll be using the Immortal Weapon team. Here, you’ll face Secret Defender and A-Force characters. Immortal Weapon has excellent sustain and mitigation, so they can easily withstand the enemies’ initial attacks.

Once it’s your turn, use Lady Bullseye’s Ultimate and Sword Master’s Special to remove all buffs from the enemy team. After stripping their buffs, make Ghost Rider Robbie your primary focus. With Iron Fist, use his Ultimate to give your team Speed Up, which will make the rest of the fight much easier. With Iron Fist (WWII), use his Ultimate to target and stun Black Cat.

When only one enemy is left, Captain Marvel will appear. She shouldn’t give you any trouble and can be taken down easily.

Floor 4: No Restrictions

Suggested team: Insidious Six + Vulture + Shocker / Green Goblin (Classic) / Spider-Slayer

For Cell 4, use Insidious Six, Vulture, and Shocker. If you have a strong Green Goblin (Classic) or Spider-Slayer, you can swap one of them in for Shocker to make the fight easier, but it’s not necessary. We chose to go with the standard team, since many players don’t have highly built Superior Six characters.

Your team starts with Immunity, so Nightcrawler won’t be able to stun anyone. Vulture plays first—use his Special and target Sebastian Shaw, since he has Taunt. Next, use Superior Spider-Man’s Special on Emma Frost to Ability Block her. With Hobgoblin, use the Special and focus on Nightcrawler as your primary target.

The enemy Apocalypse will use his Ultimate, but thanks to your Safeguard and Immunity, you won’t get any debuffs. However, make sure your characters are strong enough to survive Apocalypse’s Empowered Basic attack. If no one is knocked out, you’ll clear this Cell without trouble.

Prioritize eliminating Nightcrawler and Azazel first, then focus on Apocalypse. Once those three are down, the rest is straightforward. Leave Sebastian Shaw for last, as he’s the toughest to take down. There’s no need to save your abilities here, since there’s only one enemy wave.

Floor 5: Non-Mythic Cosmic (War Rules)

Suggested team: Fantastic Four (MCU) + Quasar

For this Cell, bring in the four Fantastic Four (MCU) characters along with Quasar. It’s important to note that War rules are active in this Cell, making Quasar the perfect pick to pair with the Fantastic Four (MCU) team. The fight is straightforward—use all your available abilities right from the start. After Franklin uses his Ultimate, the enemy Nova (Sam Alexander) will lose his Taunt, allowing you to switch your primary target.

It’s important to use Quasar’s Ultimate on Emma Frost (X-Men), which will Ability Block her and all enemies around her. After that, focus on eliminating any opponents who aren’t Ability Blocked. As you take out a few enemies, Shadow King and Ancient One will appear—make them your main priority next, then clean up the remaining enemies.

If your F4 (MCU) team and Quasar are strong (we don’t see a reason they shouldn’t be), you’ll clear this Cell with ease.

Floor 6: Non-Mythic Cosmic Villain (War Rules)

Suggested team: Shadow Conclave

War rules are also active in this Cell, and since Knull is among the enemies, bringing a full Shadow Conclave team is the optimal choice. Thanks to Malekith, they completely negate Knull’s Darkness mechanic—and even benefit from it, as on any turn, Darkness will be flipped into Offense Up for Shadow Conclave characters.

From the very start, focus all your attacks on Knull. Make him your primary target and use all your abilities on him. Once your Executioner uses his Ultimate, all enemies will be Ability Blocked, making the fight much easier—if not trivial. After Knull is down, shift your focus to Mockingbird, then Gorr.

It’s also a good idea to position Thanos in the center, with Executioner and High Evolutionary next to him, so they receive extra ability energy each time you eliminate an enemy. This allows them to use their Ultimates and Specials more frequently, further securing your victory.

Floor 7: Non-Mythic Cosmic Villain (War Rules)

Suggested team: Knull + Silver Surfer (Breaker) + Gorr + Gladiator + Hellverine / Shadow King

This Cell is designed for the Omen team, but we intentionally chose not to use it here, knowing that many players haven’t invested in those characters (except for Silver Surfer (Breaker), of course). Instead, we went with Knull, Silver Surfer (Breaker), Gorr, Gladiator, and Hellverine. War rules are also active in this Cell. If you want to make things easier, you can bring in Shadow King instead of Hellverine. We saved Shadow King for the next Cell, but he’s not absolutely necessary there either—so if you find this Cell difficult, swap Hellverine out for Shadow King. Of course, if you’ve built up the Omen team, you can use the full Omen squad, or four Omen members plus Knull.

At the start, use Ultimates with Gorr and Knull, and use Silver Surfer (Breaker)’s Special on Ares. Use Hellverine’s Ultimate as well. It’s important that your Gladiator is strong enough to endure some of the enemy attacks. Try to eliminate Juggernaut (Zombie) as soon as possible, then follow up with Hela. When Knull’s second turn comes around, use his Special. After taking out Hela, focus on getting Scarlet Witch (Zombie) below 50% HP quickly—she should be your next target, followed by Iron Man (Zombie).

With this lineup, you don’t absolutely need the full Omen team—at least not for the first week of Fear Tower.

Floor 8: Mutant (Crucible Rules)

Suggested team: Phoenix Force + Professor Xavier + Shadow King

This Cell is perfect for Phoenix Force and Professor Xavier. We also brought Shadow King, but he’s not essential—he just makes things go faster and smoother. If you need Shadow King for the previous Cell, don’t hesitate to use him there and bring Havok or any other Mutant here instead.

When your first character gets a turn (which will be Magneto [Phoenix Force]), use his Ultimate and target The Leader. With Professor Xavier, you can target either Skrull or Namor and use his Special. After that, focus on eliminating Iron Patriot and Black Knight, then take out Super Skrull.

Once all those enemies are gone, Doctor Doom and Absorbing Man will enter the fight, but they shouldn’t be a problem for your team. It is a walk in the park with Phoenix Force and Professor Xavier—if you use them here, you’ll clear it with ease.

Floor 9: Non-Mythic X-Men (Crucible Rules)

Suggested team: New Mutant

Bring your New Mutant team into Cell 9—you shouldn’t have much trouble clearing it with them. Don’t hold back on your abilities; use everything at your disposal. Ideally, try not to eliminate Sentry too early, but even if you do, New Mutant has enough mitigation and sustain to survive The Void’s three turns.

Focus on taking down Azazel, Quicksilver, and Daimon Hellstrom first, then move on to the rest of the enemies. There aren’t any particularly tricky moments in this fight—just make sure your New Mutants are strong enough to withstand the enemy’s attacks. While you’ll have momentum most of the time, the enemy team can still pose a threat if you’re not careful.

At the start of the battle, Daimon Hellstrom will go first and deal some decent damage, but it’s nothing you can’t handle. Then your Cannonball will take his turn—use his Special. After that, Sentry will Ability Block your Cannonball and strip all positive effects from your team, but this isn’t a major problem since Warlock will soon clear all those debuffs.

Ideally, eliminate Sentry right before his second turn to prevent him from hitting you with his Ultimate. Leave Sebastian Shaw for last.

Floor 10: Non-Mythic X-Men (Crucible Rules)

Suggested team: Exalted X-Men

For this Cell, we used Exalted X-Men along with Old Man Logan instead of Morph, since we haven’t recruited Morph yet. FTP players don’t have him either. However, the enemy Gambit and Shadow King quickly took out Old Man Logan at the start, so it was basically a 4 Exalted characters battle for us. Morph is an excellent choice for this fight if you have him, but even without him, you can clear this Cell.

At the start, use Storm (Mighty)’s Ultimate to remove Immunity from all enemies, making them vulnerable to debuffs. This ability also applies Exposed to everyone, which is a key advantage. Plus, it will stun Omega Red (Phoenix Force).

All enemies except Quasar and Captain Britain are Mutants, and they’ll all have Exposed, so thanks to her passive, Storm (Mighty) will attack every Mutant enemy as they take a turn, applying Silence and even Ability Block, which means they’ll mostly be stuck using their Basic attacks and won’t pose much of a threat.

Take out Captain Britain first, then focus on Omega Red, Gambit, and Shadow King. Try to avoid unnecessary damage to Phoenix—save her for last, or at least until after Omega Red (Phoenix Force) is eliminated. Rogue will get Taunt, so you’ll have to target her for a while.

Once Omega Red (Phoenix Force) and Gambit are gone, the fight—which isn’t too difficult for Exalted X-Men anyway—becomes even easier. As mentioned, leave Phoenix for the end.

Conclusion

It’s clear that having top-tier (META) War and Crucible teams will be essential for making real progress in this Tower event. If your goal is to collect the maximum number of Quicksilver (Symbiote) character shards, investing in these teams is highly recommended.

This investment is well worth it, as Quicksilver (Symbiote) stands out as one of the strongest characters in the game and is a crucial member of the Symbiote Six team. Strengthening these squads now will not only help you conquer the Tower’s toughest challenges, but also ensure you unlock and power up one of the game’s most valuable characters.

As we can see, in the first four Cells you can easily rely on your Raid teams. After that, if you want to clear Fear Tower on Omega difficulty, you’ll need strong teams such as Fantastic Four (MCU), Shadow Conclave, Phoenix Force, New Mutant, and Exalted X-Men.

In addition to these, characters like Knull, Professor X, Silver Surfer (Breaker), Quasar, and Shadow King will be extremely useful in certain Cells—either as valuable additions to the main teams or as part of a custom lineup. The Omen team can be used in Cell 7, but if you haven’t invested in those characters, that Cell is still manageable without them.

We’re waiting to see what the second week of this Tower event will bring.
