Intro

Scorpion (Breaker) is the second Legendary character in the Age of Fear saga. You’ll be able to unlock him through the Breaker Event: Scorpion, which works similarly to previous Scourge and Trials events. If you’ve participated in those before, the structure of Breaker Events will feel very familiar.

How Breaker Events Work: Breaker Events use Combat Mods (previously called Scourges or Pacts) that can either make battles harder or easier. Each Combat Mod comes with a point modifier—more challenging Mods give more points. By activating more Mods, you can boost your final Run Score and potentially earn better rewards.

Event Schedule and Participation: Breaker Events are held during the first two weeks of each month. For Chapter 2 of Age of Fear, that means the Scorpion Breaker Event will be the featured event. There will be four different Difficulty levels, so players at various stages of progression can take part. Anyone who is level 65 or higher is eligible to participate in the Silver Surfer Breaker Event.

Since Chapter 2 of Age of Fear lasts for three months, the Scorpion Breaker Event will be active three times—during the first two weeks of each month throughout Chapter 2. After that, we’ll see how the Breaker Event: Scorpion continues, as a new Breaker Event will launch with the start of Chapter 3.

Gameplay Tips:

  • You can quit and retry any node as many times as you want until you’re satisfied with your result.
  • Experiment with different Combat Mods to find the best balance between challenge and reward.
  • Aim for a high Run Score by activating more difficult Mods if you can successfully clear the nodes.

Recomendations:

  • Difficulty 1 — Beginner: Level 65–100, 5 Yellow Stars, 3 Red Stars
  • Difficulty 2 — Normal: Level 100, 7 Red Stars, Level 5 Blue Iso-8, Gear Tier 18
  • Difficulty 3 — Hard: Level 105, 2 Diamonds, Level 3 Purple Iso-8, Gear Tier 19
  • Difficulty 4 — Omega: Level 110, 4 Diamonds, Level 4 Purple Iso-8, Gear Tier 21

Try to collect as many shards as possible during the first run of this Breaker Event, as this will give you a strong start for future runs—where you’ll have more chances to earn additional shards and grow your collection.

As you can see, there are no requirements for Difficulty 1 Beginner (except Mission 2,6, and 10). This means that players who choose to play on Difficulty 1 can use any characters from their roster and complete missions 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9 with whichever team they prefer. For mission 2 they will need Mutant characters, for mission 6 they will need Avenger characters, and for mission 10 they will need Mutant or Avengers characters.

Difficulty 2 – Normal,3 – Hard, and 4 – Omega introduces specific requirements for certain missions. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Mission 1: No requirements—use any characters you want (on Difficulty 4 – Omega, those characters needs to be level 110)
  • Mission 2: Exalted X-Men characters
  • Missions 3 and 7: Spider-Verse characters
  • Missions 4 and 8: Non-Mythic Mystic Cosmic characters
  • Missions 5 and 9: Bio characters.
  • Mission 6: Amazing Avenger characters
  • Mission 10: Exalted X-Men or Amazing Avenger characters

Combat Mods

Two always active Mods:

  • Forged in Fire
    • All Cosmic Crucible abilities are active during this run
  • Contagious Energy
    • On enemy Death, generate 1 Ability Energy for Scorpion (Breaker) and 1 Ability Energy for 2 random adjacent allies

    • Enemies gain +10% Max Health
  • Inner Rage I
    • Enemies gain +10% Damage
  • Unrattled I
    • Enemies gain +10% Armor

  • Inner Rage II
    • Enemies gain +20% Damage
  • Unrattled II
    • Enemies gain +20% Armor
  • Experimental Serum III
    • Enemies gain +30% Max Health
  • Inner Rage III
    • Enemies gain +30% Damage
  • Unrattled III
    • Enemies gain +30% Armor
  • Arch Nemesis – Sabretooth
    • Enemy Sabretooth has increased stats and clears Exposed from himself at the start of his turn
  • Blinded by Power
    • When a player character uses their Ultimate, they gain Blind

    • When a player character uses their Special, they gain Ability Block
  • Indestructible Mind
    • Enemies immune to Trauma
  • Arch Nemesis – Carnage

    • On start of any Bio ally’s turn, that character loses 2% Permanent Max Health
  • Fear The Serpent
    • On Spawn, enemy Bio characters gain Safeguard and Speed Up for 1 turn
    • On Spawn, enemy Tech characters gain Safeguard and Offense Up for 1 turn
    • Enemy Skill characters’ damage lowers the target’s Max Health by the same amount
    • Enemy Mutant characters gain +25% Damage
    • On Spawn, enemy Mystic characters gain Revive Once
  • Get Ready!
    • When and enemy unit drops below 25% Max HP, reduce the duration of all Trauma by 2, flip all negative effects, and clear all Exposed
