Battleworld – Sentry City
Intro
Battleworld – Sentry City is set to commence on October 14th, bringing some significant updates. For the first three days, players will engage in standard zones, while the fourth day is reserved for the intense Sentry Boss Battle. Spec Ops have still been temporarily removed from Battleworld but may return in the future, in some other Battleworld iterations.
Each zone will feature six distinct missions: an Elite Mission, two Standard Missions, a Miniboss Mission, a Timed Mission, and a Chaos Mission. Additionally, new difficulties will unlock as alliances accumulate Victory Points, and these new difficulties are expected to come with First-time rewards.
Mission Types
Battleworld lasts for 4 days (4 Zones, one per day). In Sentry City, characters will remain available for other missions regardless of the outcome of any combat mission, whether it results in success or failure. In battles, the timer is set to 6 minutes (except Timed Mission, which is set to 1 minute and 30 seconds). However, the countdown only progresses when character animations are active. If you pause to strategize during your turn, the timer will freeze until you activate an ability.
The first 3 days will entail a mix of two Standard, one Elite, one Miniboss, one Timed, and one Chaos Mission, while the last day will be the Boss Battle skirmish.
Missions
Elite missions will be missions where you can use Battleworld specialized teams. Brimstone is set to become the new team for Battleworld, but their kits won’t include specific Battleworld callouts. Instead, for elite missions in Sentry City, a new approach is being introduced to simplify the Brimstone kits. This involves shifting additional power into the missions themselves through Combat Mods. This strategy not only reduces complexity but also creates opportunities to experiment with unconventional and fun mechanics that, while not entirely balanced, are carefully contained to avoid disrupting the team’s overall functionality in the mode.
Standard missions will require players to battle through 5 waves of enemies (a total of 20 enemies) to clear the node and gain VP (victory points).
Miniboss missions are missions where players face off against a strong mini-boss and his team. This will be a single-wave battle.
Timed missions challenges players to use Quasar, Blastaar, or both to complete waves within 90 seconds. Fortunately, even if you fail, neither character is locked out, allowing multiple attempts. Successfully completing the mission will close it for the current Battleworld run.
Chaos missions are designed to test adaptability and strategy, as the playable characters rotate periodically while the mission’s objectives remain constant. This dynamic gameplay element encourages players to experiment with different character abilities and approaches to overcome the challenge.
In Zone 2, instead of a Timed mission, we have a Protect mission. In this type of mission, we likely need to defend certain characters for a set period of time or until all enemies are defeated. Meanwhile, in Zone 3, there is a Horde mission at that spot, where we face waves of Ultron’s minions.
Zone 3 also features a Bonus mission where we can use Phoenix Force, Phantom Rider, and Blue Marvel. There won’t be any additional combat modifiers active in this mission, but the limitation to just these three characters—especially since most players won’t have Blue Marvel recruited for some time—will certainly make this mission very challenging.
Developers are planning to increase the number of attempts available for missions. While the exact figure is still being determined, it will likely fall within the range of 10 to 20 attempts. This ensures you have ample opportunities to complete a mission while maintaining a balanced system.
Each mission provides 1,000 VP, and advancing to the next zone requires a total of 5,000 VP. This system enables smaller Alliances to progress in Sentry City steadily every week.
All Missions will also have combat modifiers to bolster your opponents prowess. Sometimes the modifiers will affect all characters in the battlefield, both ours and the opponent’s. These modifiers will include general bonuses as well as character/team/Iso-8 Class/Traits – specific ones.
Boss Battle
In the Battleworld: Sentry City boss encounter, alliances will face off against both Sentry and the Void — two sides of the same cosmic powerhouse. During the fight, Boss Sentry alternates between his two forms, shifting the entire battlefield dynamic with each transformation. Every phase demands a different strategy and team composition to survive his devastating attacks.
The battle begins with Boss Sentry fighting alongside a squad of Avenger allies.
Sentry starts the encounter empowered with stacks of Heroism.
- Each time Sentry is attacked, he loses one stack of Heroism.
- When all stacks of Heroism are gone, the fight takes a dark turn — Sentry succumbs to the Void.
At that point:
- Sentry destroys all of his Avenger allies.
- He transforms into Empowered Void.
- Gains a stack of Rage for every Avenger ally destroyed.
- Summons a team of Villain allies to fight at his side.
Rage boosts both Empowered Void’s Damage and Speed Bar, making him faster and more dangerous with every transformation.
In Void form, Sentry becomes far more aggressive, building Rage whenever enemies take turns or use Special or Ultimate Abilities.
However, there’s a critical weakness — every time he’s attacked, he loses one stack of Void.
Once all Void stacks are gone:
- All Villain allies are destroyed.
- He loses Empowered and reverts back to Sentry Form.
- Regains one stack of Heroism.
- Summons a new team of Avenger allies.
Each transformation cycle resets his allies and amplifies his power, forcing players to adapt on the fly.
The longer the fight lasts, the faster and deadlier Sentry becomes as his Rage accelerates his turns and boosts his damage.
Players must strategically manage the timing of each transformation — pushing him too early or too late into his next form can lead to being overwhelmed by his growing strength.
Requirements and Rules
From what we can see, newer teams such as Hellfire Club, Accursed, Thunderbolt, Vigilante, Insidious Six, and Fantastic Four (MCU) will be essential for completing certain missions more easily, as combat modes in various missions will boost these teams or the characters belonging to them. Additionally, in some Elite missions, players will be able to use Secret Warrior and Undying teams as alternatives. How effective these teams—serving as substitutes for the Brimstone team (until we have a full Brimstone team)—will actually be remains to be seen. We can also combine the Brimstone characters we currently have with characters from these teams.
Based on the combat modifiers in the Sentry Boss fight (Zone 4), the Brimstone team will be an excellent choice for taking on the Sentry boss. The general advice for everyone is to focus on recruiting and upgrading Brimstone characters as soon as possible, since they will be essential for success in Battleworld: Sentry City.

Missions Guide/Walkthrough
This section will be slowly updated to include the best strategies and alternative teams to use for each mission.
All walkthroughs have been completed on Difficulty 6 (the highest difficulty), which means they are also applicable to all lower difficulties.
Zone 1 Walkthrough
Standard Mission – Mystic & Non-Mythic
This is a very easy mission. Although the Accursed team gets bonuses here, they are not necessary at all. We completed this mission using three Nightstalker characters (Blade, Oath, and Man-Thing), Kahhori, and Knull. Since all players have access to these characters, those without the Accursed team will be glad to know they don’t need to invest in them just for Battleworld.
At the very start, focus on using Kahhori’s Basic ability to remove Speed Up from Peggy Carter and Falcon (Joaquin), then follow up by attacking them with Blade’s and Oath’s Ultimates. With Knull, don’t use his Ultimate on the first turn; instead, use his Special to summon Carnage. The second wave of enemies is very easy (just Invader characters without Nick Fury), so you can defeat them all with Basic attacks. In the third wave, focus on defeating Peggy Carter first, followed by Captain Carter. Don’t hold back on using your abilities, as this is the final wave of enemies. No further detailed strategy is necessary for this mission.
Standard Mission – Mutant & Non-Mythic
For this mission, we used the Hellfire Club team (without Madelyne), along with Emma Frost (X-Men), who counts as a Hellfire Club member for this mission. This is important because the team receives certain benefits here.
In the first wave, you can use only Basic attacks with all characters, as you’ll be facing the Guardian team, who can be easily defeated this way.
The second wave is a bit tougher, featuring two Howard the Ducks, Lilandra, Rocket, and Groot. Hellfire Club characters in this mission have a 50% chance to apply Stun when they hit an enemy, so with some luck, you may be able to stun all five opponents in this wave. Here, you can start using Specials and Ultimates. Focus your attacks on Lilandra and the two Howards first, then Rocket, and leave Groot for last.
In the third and final wave, you’ll face two Groots, Lilandra, Tigra, and Guardian. These enemies also shouldn’t be too much trouble. At the start, attack Tigra to remove her Evades—she’ll go down quickly after that—then focus on Lilandra. You should be able to finish this mission without much difficulty.
Miniboss Mission – Villain & Non-Mythic
For the Miniboss mission, we used Knull, Gorr, Shadow King, Vulture, and Lady Deathstrike. All players should have these characters upgraded. This is a very easy mission because, despite Graviton (the miniboss) and his minions having certain enhancements, they don’t have enough sustain to withstand the initial attacks from our team. No detailed strategy is needed—just focus on taking down Graviton first, then deal with the minions.
Timed Mission – Quasar & Blastaar
In this mission, we can only use Quasar and Blastaar, but our opponents are Ravagers and, in the end, a few Kree characters. This means our duo of Legendary characters will have absolutely no trouble clearing the mission. There’s no need to save any abilities or focus on specific enemies—just try to finish the mission as quickly as possible, since you have 90 seconds. It’s a very easy mission as long as your Quasar and Blastaar are strong enough, which they should be.
Chaos Mission – Chaos Team
Elite Mission – Fantastic Four (MCU) & Brimstone
For this mission, the best option is to use a full Brimstone team. However, since we don’t have the complete team yet, we used the Fantastic Four (MCU) team (excluding The Thing) along with Daimon Hellstrom.
In the first wave, you’ll go up against the Annihilator team, with the main threat being Thanos (Endgame), specifically his Passive ability, which triggers when his HP drops below 50%. Start the fight by using Invisible Woman’s (MCU) Ultimate and Human Torch’s Special. Next, it’s Daimon Helstrom’s turn—there’s no need to use his Ultimate or Special, just use his Basic attack. With Franklin, you don’t need to use his Ultimate either; instead, use his Special to steal buffs from the enemies and redistribute them to your team. After that, use Mister Fantastic’s Special. This approach should be enough to eliminate all enemies in the first wave.
In the second wave, you’ll face the Out of Time team. The main issue here is Black Knight and his three Charged stacks, which allow him to counter your attacks. Focus on removing him as quickly as possible, then finish off the remaining enemies.
The third wave brings Odin, Black Knight, Thanos (Endgame), and Gorr. Don’t hold back on your abilities, as this is the last wave. When you bring Black Knight below 50% HP, he will clear Taunt from himself, leaving Odin exposed. At that point, focus all your attacks on Odin—you should be able to defeat him before he gets a chance to act. Once Odin is down, the rest will be easy to handle.
While Brimstone is the primary team for this mission, the Fantastic Four (MCU) team can also complete it without any issues.
Video Walkthrough for Zone 1
Zone 2 Walkthrough
Standard Mission Tech & Non-Mythic
For this mission, the best choice is to use the Insidious Six team, as they receive bonuses here. The mission itself is not particularly difficult.
In the first wave, you’ll face the X-Treme X-Men team. Use Vulture’s Special to apply Slow on Nightcrawler, and use Superior Spider-Man’s Special, targeting Forge. Do the same with Hobgoblin. After that, you’ll have full control of the battle and can finish off the remaining enemies with ease.
The second wave brings the Alpha Flight team, and they will go down just as easily as the X-Treme team. There’s no need to save your abilities, but when only one or two enemies are left, switch to Basic attacks with everyone.
In the third wave, you’ll face a mix of X-Treme X-Men and Alpha Flight members. They shouldn’t pose any real challenge. If you’ve saved Scorpion’s Ultimate, now is the perfect time to use it. With Hobgoblin, always use his Special before his Ultimate, as it can deal massive damage.
Overall, for a decently upgraded Insidious Six team, this mission is a walk in the park.
Standard Mission – Bio & Non-Mythic
For this mission, Thunderbolt is the team to rely on, thanks to the additional bonuses they receive here.
In the first wave, your opponents are Wakanda characters, who pose virtually no challenge at all. The second wave brings the Illuminati and Captain America. Here, focus on eliminating Hank Pym as quickly as possible. However, this wave is also easy if your Thunderbolt team is properly upgraded.
The third wave features Mister Fantastic (MCU), Invisible Woman (MCU), Black Panther (1MM), and two Black Panthers (Shuri). Since Mister Fantastic (MCU) has Safeguard and Taunt, you’ll be forced to attack him first. Use all your area-of-effect attacks to deal damage to the other enemies as well. Once Mister Fantastic (MCU) is down, focus on the remaining opponents. This wave shouldn’t be a problem either, since there are only two Fantastic Four (MCU) characters present, and for them to function optimally, at least three members are needed.
Overall, this mission isn’t difficult at all if you have invested in your Thunderbolt team.
Miniboss Mission – Hero & Non-Mythic
This Miniboss mission can be challenging for many players if they don’t have maxed-out Fantastic Four (MCU) characters and Quasar. These are the characters we recommend for this mission. The main difficulty comes from Omega Red (Phoenix Force)’s Passive, which constantly steals HP from your team. Since he has a huge health pool and the stolen HP is based on his percentage HP, he will deal consistently high damage. Additionally, Omega Red is immune to Stun, Ability Block, Exposed, Exhausted, and Speed Bar reduction, and he starts the battle with Revive Once, making him nearly impossible to control.
All three Fantastic Four (MCU) characters and Quasar should be set as Strikers, while Human Torch should be a Skirmisher. Since Human Torch will frequently assist, this creates a Striker-Skirmisher combo. At the start, Quasar provides Immunity to the whole team, protecting you from the debuffs Omega Red (Phoenix Force) can apply on his first turn. Use Ultimates with Invisible Woman, Franklin, and Mister Fantastic, and use Specials with Human Torch and Quasar. These attacks should be enough for your team to defeat Omega Red the first time during your initial turn. He will revive with low HP, so you can easily finish him off with your next character’s attack—usually only one or two more hits are needed.
This mission shouldn’t be problematic if you have GT20 characters with two or three Diamonds (Quasar can even have just one Diamond). For teams below this level, the mission will be much more difficult.
Protect Misssion – Accursed or Hellfire Club
For this mission, we chose to use Hellfire Club characters, as most players have this team upgraded due to their necessity in Raids. On the other hand, some players haven’t invested in the Accursed team, but that’s not a problem—this mission can be completed with the Hellfire Club. This is the most difficult mission in Zone 2 of Battleworld.
The first wave isn’t problematic. You’ll face Hive-Mind characters here. Focus on eliminating Red Goblin first, then Carnage and Void Knight. You shouldn’t have any trouble clearing this wave.
The second wave is what makes this mission extremely challenging. Your opponents are Ms. Marvel (Classic), Kahhori, Medusa, Captain Marvel, and Nico Minoru. It’s important to save Azazel’s Ultimate and Sebastian Shaw’s Special for this stage, and use them as soon as possible. Azazel’s Ultimate will remove a lot of buffs from the Absolute A-Force characters and reduce the Speed Bar of all enemies, while Sebastian’s Special will further reduce their Speed Bar, apply Heal Block, and give your team Defense Up and Safeguard. When Sebastian’s turn comes around again, Stun Ms. Marvel (Classic)with him. Thanks to the mission Mods, he’ll be able to use his Special again, so target Ms. Marvel (Classic) with it. Sebastian should be a Striker, so his Iso-8 Striker attack will stun her. Next, have Rachel target Ms. Marvel (Classic) with her Ultimate, which will spread the Stun to Kahhori. After that, eliminate Medusa, then the two stunned characters. The two A-Force members (Nico Minoru and Captain Marvel) should already be defeated by this point. Even if Medusa manages to take out one of your characters, it’s not the end of the world—you can still complete the mission.
In the third wave, you’ll face the Tangled Web trio. They shouldn’t pose much of a threat. Focus on Spider-Weaver first, then finish off the remaining two enemies.
This mission is tough because of the second wave; if you don’t play it correctly, Kahhori and her team can defeat you quickly. Proper timing and use of your abilities are key to success here.
Chaos Mission – Chaos Team
Elite Mission – Secret Warriors or Brimstone
Since we didn’t have Living Mummy and Hellcat yet, we used the remaining three Brimstone characters, along with Yo-Yo and Phantom Rider, for this mission.
At the very start, use Yo-Yo’s Special and Daimon Hellstrom’s Ultimate. With a bit of luck and some critical hits, you’ll eliminate all enemies except Ares and The Leader. If Daimon defeats an enemy with the first hit of his Ultimate, he will attack again. Target Namor with Yo-Yo (since he has the lowest Health), and Daimon will almost certainly finish him off with his Ultimate, triggering a second attack that will likely take out Iron Patriot and Abomination as well. Finish off the remaining two enemies with Basic attacks.
The second wave is also straightforward. Focus on Morgan Le Fay and Nova. Elsa’s Ultimate and Daimon’s Special will deal more than enough damage to take out almost all enemies. Finish the rest with Basic attacks.
In the third wave, you’ll face Apocalypse, Morgan Le Fay, Red Hulk, Hulk, and The Leader. This stage shouldn’t pose much of a challenge either. Apocalypse will open with his Special, so there’s little risk of losing any of your characters right away. Focus on Morgan Le Fay and Red Hulk first, then turn your attention to Apocalypse.
Daimon Helstrom, Strange (Heartless), and Elsa Bloodstone, paired with two Secret Warrior characters, can clear this mission with ease—as long as your team is sufficiently upgraded.
Once you have all five Brimstone characters, this mission will become even easier.
Video Walkthrough for Zone 2
Zone 3 Walkthrough
Standard Mission – Skill & Non-Mythic
In the first wave, the only two threatening opponents are Emma Frost (X-Men) and the Ancient One. However, even though they are not a significant problem. Ancient One will almost certainly get a turn, but you can eliminate Emma before she has a chance to act, and then finish off Ancient One.
In the second wave, you’ll face the Masters of Evil characters and Daken. With Elektra, avoid using her Special, as this will grant her Stealth and allow the enemy Daken to fill his Speed Bar, potentially causing some damage to your team. Still, this wave is quite easy.
The third wave is also straightforward. Again, avoid using Elektra’s Special because Daken is present as an enemy. Focus on taking down Emma Frost first, then deal with the remaining opponents.
Overall, with the Vigilante team, this mission should be very manageable.
Standard Mission Global & Non-Mythic
For this mission, we use Hellfire Club characters (except Azazel, since he is Cosmic, not Global) along with Emma Frost (X-Men).
At the start, you’ll face the Web-Warrior team as opponents. You can eliminate them easily—focus on Ghost-Spider first and then take out the rest.
In the second wave, you’ll encounter three Swarm enemies, Superior Spider-Man, and Scorpion. Your main focus should be on Superior Spider-Man; once you control or eliminate him, the rest of the enemies are easy to handle.
In the third wave, Spider-Man (Big Time) appears, together with Spider-Society characters. Stun Big Time, then focus on Pavitr first, followed by Big Time. With a bit of luck, you can Stun all opponents, as your characters have a 50% chance to inflict Stun with each successful attack.
This mission is also easy if you have strong Hellfire Club characters. They don’t need to be fully maxed out—GT19 is sufficient, and you shouldn’t have any problems completing the mission.
Miniboss Mission – Cosmic & Non-Mythic
This mission is quite easy if you use the four Fantastic Four (MCU) characters and Quasar. All players should have these characters highly upgraded, as they are very important, and most players likely have them maxed out.
There’s really no need to go into detail about this battle—simply target the Mini Boss (Red Guardian), turn on AUTO, and your characters will complete the mission on their own.
Horde Mission – City
In this mission, you’ll face waves of Ultron’s Minions, and at the very end, Orchis characters and Ultron himself will appear. We used the Insidious Six trio together with Vulture and Shocker, but we also believe this mission can easily be completed with Vigilante characters. We mention this in case you don’t have upgraded Insidious Six characters (although you really should).
Enemy waves 1 through 4 are just about clearing out Minions, and there’s nothing special to note here. Thanks to his Passive, Vulture will get plenty of turns and can almost take out all the Minions by himself.
In the final wave, when the Orchis characters arrive, focus on Omega Sentinel and Nimrod first, then deal with the remaining enemies. For the Insidious Six team, this mission is quite easy.
Chaos Mission – Chaos Team
Elite Mission – Undying or Brimstone
Since we still don’t have Living Mummy and Hellcat, we used four Undying characters and Daimon Hellstrom for this mission. War rules are active here, making the Undying team especially powerful.
At the very start, use Scarlet Witch (Zombie)’s Special on Blade, then do the same with Juggernaut (Zombie). Daimon Hellstrom acts next—use his Special as well. This should be enough to eliminate most of the enemies, and you can finish off the rest with Basic attacks.
In the second wave, you’ll face the Fantastic Four (MCU) team. Use Daimon’s Ultimate and Hela’s Ultimate here, while using Basic attacks with the other characters. This will be enough to defeat all the Fantastic Four (MCU) enemies, who can’t compete with the Undying team when War rules are active.
In the third wave, you’ll encounter Shadow King, Emma Frost (X-Men), and Ancient One. Use all your available abilities on them, and you’ll be able to eliminate them easily.
If your Undying team isn’t strong enough, this mission could be challenging. However, if you’ve invested in these characters, you’ll clear it without any trouble.
Once you have all five Brimstone characters, they should be your first choice for this mission, and we believe you’ll be able to complete it even more easily with them.
Bonus Mission – Blue Marvel or Phantom Rider or Phoenix Force
It is not possible to complete this mission on Difficulty 6 without Blue Marvel. With the remaining three characters, we were able to get through the first wave of enemies and halfway through the second, but that’s nowhere near enough for successful completion. On lower difficulties, however, we believe that Phantom Rider and Phoenix Force should be able to clear this mission with ease.

Zone 4 – Sentry Boss Battle
There are five battles (5 attempts), so it’s important to find five strong teams that can deal as much damage to Sentry as possible. Here are the teams we used:
- Astral + Mephisto (no Strange or Moondragon) – around 220 million damage
- Brimstone + Knull + Professor Xavier (no Hellcat and Living Mummy) – around 130 million damage
- Fantastic Four (MCU) – around 80 million damage
- Insidious Six + Green Goblin (Classic) (no Scorpion) – around 80 million damage
- Odin + Old Man Logan + Quasar + Songbird + Black Knight – around 190 million damage
In total, we dealt around 700 million damage. If you have a full Brimstone team, you can easily achieve at least 200 million more.
Over time, we will certainly discover more effective team combinations that can deal excellent damage. The most important thing is to stay active, use all five of your attacks, and aim to do as much damage as possible. If every Alliance member adopts this mindset, you should achieve a great score and collect the maximum amount of Sentry shards. On the highest difficulty (Difficulty 6), it’s possible to earn 100 shards in a single Battleworld.
Update
We used these five teams and managed to deal around 1.9 billion damage.
- Brimstone
- Astral
- Fantastic Four (MCU) + Odin + Mephisto
- Blue Marvel + Old Man Logan + Red Guardian + Iron Fist + Havok
- Black Knight + Knull + Omega Red + Emma Frost + Kang
The last team deals excessive damage due to a game glitch. Specifically, Kang passively attacks all enemies on his turn and steals 3% of their HP. This means he can steal around 50 million health from Sentry. We expect the developers will fix this in the future.
Conclusion
We still have yet to see how Battleworld: Sentry City will turn out. It remains to be seen whether the missions on the highest difficulty will truly be challenging or not as tough as expected, and what the overall gameplay experience will be like. We’ll find out soon enough.
